A great neighborhood spot. This is on Jackson which has a surprising number of cool Spots. There's reckless noodle for instance down the street. The parking is easy and is a good spot for lunch. Came here this past Saturday to hang out with some friends. There was seating inside and the tables were distanced apart. There's also an outdoor area that's partially covered and partially not covered. The food was so good! We had fried cat fish tacos and chips and salsa. The cat fish tacos were a little small and it was topped with purple cabbage, cilantro, and cotija cheese with a side of lime. I was surprised the catfish was in small chunks rather than a bigger filet. It's nothing bad, just different :) The chips and salsa were so good! The chips were light and crunchy with the right amount of salt on it. The red salsa was more mild and the green salsa was SPICY which was more of my jam! The service was great from the food, making sure people are masked when ordering at the bar, beer/wine. read more

AWARD-WINNING MICROBREWED IPA, PLEASANT, AMICABLE SERVICE. A great variety of beers and some wine from a sister company. I enjoyed chatting with the bartender over my flight of IPAs. They have a minimal menu, and I availed myself of the tuna melt. OK, not the best tuna melt I ever had, but really, you're lucky if a brewery sells food at all! The tuna salad was good, and the cheese was melted, but the tuna salad was cold. I did finish it as I was famished, and it tasted good, but I wish it were hotter. The beer was great, and I got a growler of their basic IPA, which is the award winner, and you can see all the medals it has won hanging over the bar. (See photo). There was not much else to mention except that it was not too busy and was very quiet when I was there. So, great beer, nice variety, pleasant, friendly service, but the food fell a little short, and for those reasons, I am awarding four stars. Just tasted the smoked cod roll. Incredible sandwich!! The back cod is house cured and smoked and made into a tender and succulent filling in the requisite butter roasted New England style bun. I was visiting from California and I wanted to go to a cool brewery and my friend recommended this place. It had super chill vibes. I don't really branch out when it comes to beers but the bartender/server with dark hair and tattoos was very helpful and definitely opened my palate to some really good IPAs and I even had a good cocktail with amaro in it. The beer is ok. They refuse to let you sample before you buy it so it makes it very difficult to pick the right one. On multiple occasions I've ended up with beers I didn't like and could do nothing about it. I always seem to wake up withe a headache the day after too. Definitely will be avoiding going back. Standard is my local watering hole, and I wouldn't want it any other way. I come here almost weekly for many reasons. Let me break them down. The space is fantastic. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (covered and uncovered, heated and not heated for the winter months) so there's options abound for whatever you're feeling. They also have a cozy wood stove for the cold nights. The drinks are awesome. They brew amazing beers and have an awesome selection from them and their sister brewery Sovereign on tap. They also serve wine and cocktails and sangria. They literally have something for everyone! The food is amazing. Again, something for everyone. They do delicious tacos (with veg and gf options). They do sandwiches (try the catfish with malt vinegar jojos). They do salads. They put their own twist on their quesadilla. They have seasonal specials! I love the amount of variety they offer with a succinct menu. Everything they do, they do well. The service. They are efficient and friendly despite how busy they can get sometimes. They will remember you if you're a regular! I seriously love Standard Brewing. It's been getting more popular and busy but for all the right reasons. They deserve it. We found this amazing bar.. amazing bartenders .. fun place.. then things went south. The "manager" came over and turned off the fireplace without asking if we were using it. We asked another bartender to turn it back on - which he did and obviously told the bar manager, because she ducked behind the bar , making the "manager " glare at us all night..glaring and making us extremely uncomfortable early because we complained. I had never been to Standard before but what a cute space with a warm environment! It's definitely a smaller brewery but the outdoor seating area includes the option of heaters. We had a great day here on one of the mega snow days. We walked in and were the only two in the bar for awhile. They people working were friendly and accommodating. The beer is PERFECT and so inexpensive. I don't usually love every beer I try at breweries and this place made phenomenal beer in every type. I even enjoyed the IPA and I am a self described hater of all IPAs. I got the special sandwich, which was a beef kefta, and it was great. I love that they let you sub a wedge salad (my fav) for the chips at no extra charge. Thankful this great brewery is just less than 5 minutes away from home! I thoroughly enjoyed each beer I have had here and feel safe when sitting indoors and outdoors. Upon walking in they have outdoors and indoors guest cards, which are laminated and cleansed between each use. You order at the bar - I recommend Wolfgang, the west coast IPA, and the Czech Pilsner. My friend had the tacos which he appreciated and we are both snobs with Mexican eats so thumbs up on the tacos. The bartenders enforce rules! I appreciate this as not everyone is taking it as seriously as I would hope. Masks enforced when getting up and if not abiding by 5 people or less rule/combining groups - someone was willing to speak up. The beer, wine, drinks and food is good. But I wanted JoJos and a salad with my catfish sandwich, and I get absolutely terrible service over this. The previous time, I got this, but they charged me for two sandwiches. When I complained about this, why is it so hard to charge me 3 extra bucks for JoJos and a salad, they give bullshit reasons about not having adequate kitchen for it. If they can make a salad or JoJos, it doesn't take up more space in the kitchen to also serve JoJos as well and charge 3 bucks extra instead of $18 extra. If I'm paying $18 extra, I should at least get two sandwiches. The second time, they don't serve me a sandwich at all, which is absurd and when I ask why, the bartender kicks me out of the bar. I'm sorry, but it is a bullshit reason. Kitchen size nevertheless, how hard is it to add jojos to the same plate and charge me $3 bucks more? I didn't start the argument with the patrons, they interfered with me discussing it with the bartender. When I didn't get served a sandwich at all, review the footage and I never retracted my order for the sandwich. The ambiance is awesome, and their back patio is headed with lots of room for larger groups. Being a beer podcaster, I don't often leave mixed reviews on platforms like Yelp. However, I want this place to succeed and the beer business is all about service. I have been in the Seattle area working on an upcoming cast for BOTW. I decided to go off the beaten path and try Standard Brewing. This is not associated with my work, this was purely for fun. The first time I went I had a delightful bartender, let's be clear this is a bar with some great craft beers. She was knowledgeable about the beers and had great conversation skills. We spoke about her move to Seattle and beers in upstate New York. So why only 3 stars? The next time I came in, I was faced with the complete opposite of professionalism. I won't mention names as I want to encourage females in the brew industry. What I will mention is this women was unfortunately the bar manager. When asked about the beers she knew little to nothing. I was told they don't do tasting/samples due to their mixed liquor license. Since she knew little about the beers she asked if I would prefer to just have samples, breaking their own rule. What she did know quite a bit about was how to turn her back to me, serve her friends, some being employees of the bar, and gossip. In a short period of time waiting to be noticed I heard her gossip about customers she didn't like, joke about someone's wedding, some older patron that wanted a specialty drink she hates to make and so much more. This type of service needs correcting. Bartenders, having been one many times, aren't at work to gossip, complain or ignore customer. We aren't there to hear your opinions on other customers, we are there to drink our sorrows away and discuss our days in the proverbial office. My experiences were night and day. Positive attitudes in service go a long way with patrons. Her attitude was off putting from the start. There seemed to be a good group of people who like the patio and beer. Others working in the kitchen and bar backs were very nice. The customers were fantastic. One even told me not to judge the place by this one manager as she is still newish and has had issues with other frequent patrons. I don't know after my dealings with the bar manager's lack of service and respect I would come back, if it wasn't for the wonderful experience I had the previous visit. Worst of all, I left asking myself, I wonder if she is talking/gossiping/complaining about me now? read more
