Great ice-cold beers, pizza, more. Playground! Indoor and outdoor seating. We were in town for a wedding, and we ate at MadTree Parks & Rec several times (May 2026). Our host was able to make reservations for seating areas for large numbers of people, so once we had two areas of a dozen or more, and a couple other times we had one area of that size. This flexibility was a big plus because we could only guess at how many would make it each time. We had ice-cold beers of every description, including IPAs, hazys, and other local crafts. I can't name them all, and some drafts aren on the printed menu, bu5 8 kniw we had Psychopathy, a flavorful IPA, and Seeing Colors Tropical IPA, with a sweeter / hazy profile. Dont miss their cocktails! We loved the S'More Espresso Martini: vodka, chocolate liqueur, coffee tiqueur, and espresso :-) So much yum! And we ordered various pizzas. Our favorite was the Scenic Supreme (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, red onions, green peppers, black olives) and the Vista Veggie (about the same without the meats). I also saw friends devouring Caprese Canyon (olive oil, minced garlic, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, roma tomatoes, balsamic drizzle). And of course regular pepperoni. Tasty crust, tasty red sauce, (you could get white sauce), generous toppings. We got the large sizes, which were enough for at least four people per pie. Sandwich-wise, the most popular was the Cuban Reuben: marble rye, corned beef, ham, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, dill pickle, and Russian dressing. It's the added ham and pickles that move it toward a Cuban sandwich. Well-stacked, hot, and flavorful. For local flavor, the Goetta sandwich: that flavorful Cincinnati oat-pork hash, with candied bacon, american cheese, pickled jalapeños, lettuce, and ranch. Here and there we shared Buffalo fried-Cauliflower with celery and ranch on the side. This was. Not as spicy as it could be. But if you're going to eat cauliflower, this is tasty approach. We like the tangy Fried Pickle Spears better, served with lightly-spicy chipotle ranch. And we added some fresh crunchy Caesar salads, too, and and amazing pecan, apple, blue cheese, cranberry salad! So many candied pecans! Somehow, the servers kept up with an erratic flow of orders from different groups, keeping track on portable devices, so it was easy for each group to settle their own bill as-needed. It may not sound like much, but it was impressively smooth and error-free. And the staff remained helpful,and cheerful throughout. They built a large playgroup area with slides and climbers and more. Inside there's a large play camper that we spent a lot of time in, too! This is a great place for fresh-air dining, for large groups, and especially for kids. We lived the food and drink. I hesitated to give it a try after reading some of these reviews about how great it was you could sit and let your kids run rampant, and how great the staff is at dealing with running screaming kids. Then I thought okay it's mid week, lunch time, so I came in. I was limited on time, came in and ordered a pizza and a beer. Told the server she could serve it in the to go box since I had to go sooner than I would have liked. Service was friendly, prompt and she still checked on me after I had paid. Although the place was not busy, there was a large table with a baby and 2 pre schoolers. They were all well behaved, but still I'm always surprised that breweries are now for kids. Parks and Rec is the 3rd Mad Tree location we've been to and even though we like the others a lot, this was our favorite. My husband was saying how much better it will be when we come back in the summer with the huge patio and all the garage doors open. I agreed, but I also think part of the reason we loved it so much was that even though it was a cold, gray February day, inside Parks and Rec had so much greenery and lots of windows so it felt summery inside! Our server was super friendly and went over the menu with us, telling us which items were most popular and which were his favorites. I got the peanut butter porter which was really good and hubby liked his s'mores stout as well. We split one of their huge pretzels which came with whole grain mustard and beer cheese...delish!! Then I got a 1/2 apple and pecan salad, which was more pecans, apples and dried cranberries than salad (and I mean that in the best way!) My husband let me try one of his chicken wings which had a nice spice to it. We were very pleasantly surprised at how great our whole experience was because the reviews were pretty mixed but honestly, it was a great visit from start to finish. Highly recommend! read more

Great laid back atmosphere. The beverage selection is smaller than the other locations but still great beverages to choose from! With it being summer...more servers should probably be added, but service was pretty good overall. Totally recommend for chilling with friends after work or just to meet up. If you're not a fan of kids playing on the playground that's right next to the sitting area or barking dogs then this is not a place for you. read more

This is a great little spot. I love the idea of coming to watch a game, hang out and have some drinks and snacks. It's kid friendly which I love. The indoor and outdoor places are great. There were a few flies but the doors are open all the time. The giant pretzel was delicious. I do with there were more burger and salad options. And maybe a few more kids options. read more

I finally made it out to MadTree's newest venture, MadTree Parks & Rec, out in Summit Park of Blue Ash. This location is somewhat similar to the Oakley taproom, a big open space with a large bar in the middle, but also different in several ways. First of all, this is more of a restaurant, with table service, and a very nice expanded menu. Second, while the taproom is somewhat kid-friendly, the newest spot is super family-friendly with a kids' menu along with indoor and outdoor play spaces. Brunch is served all day, every day. And while I typically am not a brunch guy, I had to try the goetta sandwich topped with candied bacon, American cheese, pickled jalapenos, lettuce, and ranch dressing. This comes served with hash browns for $16. This was a great sandwich, with a perfectly cooked, thick slice of goetta, a unique set of toppings, and it should definitely not be skipped. The hashbrowns are also awesome, shaped into a ball and filled with a tasty potato and cheese mixture. I wish the food at the Oakley taproom was more like this, since this location is very close to my home. read more

This place was great! Make sure to turn into the park as that is where the best parking lot is for the place. Google maps had me turning into the employee lot for some reason. Chris, Jacob, and Caroline helped us. They were so awesome and so extremely friendly! Totally was worth the day just getting served by them. We sat outside in the good weather and there was plenty of seating for lunch. Plenty of seating inside as well. I have the wedge salad which was amazing! Seriously top-notch! My friend had a burger and fries but there was some spicy mayonnaise on his burger and he could need it because of his cancer treatments and the diet he has to follow. Great addition to Summit Park. During slower times I think it's a great place to be. Great decor, clean, attentive wait staff. The pizza is good - I would never go for the pizza but it's decent and the crust is really good. As you would expect a nice selection of beers. Lots of outdoor seating. There are a lot of kids here - very family friendly. Can be a pro or con depending. It can get very crowded and when it is - be prepared to wait (like anywhere else). read more

I've always been a huge fan of MadTree. When they first opened up on Kennedy, 2.0 in Oakley and the Alcove downtown. What a great addition to the Blue Ash area and even better! Larger and with more tables and event spaces. Love the landscape to the outdoor patio. There's fire pits and it's more inviting. They also make all their meals in house. From Appetizers, Brunch (yes all day), salads, sandwiches, pizza and an awesome drink menu. They have everything to their beers on taps, wine, sway, specialty cocktails, and more! You can sit anywhere (except reserved tables) and you get waited on. Lindsey and Gina (sorry if I misspelled your name). They were both very down to earth and attentive. I was a fan of their product even before that and my lady and I had one of our first dates at their original location on Kennedy. Needless to say, we both wanted to check out the newest location here. We went with a couple close friends and we all enjoyed it. Lindsey, our server was very friendly and welcoming. She checked in on us very regularly to make sure we were all good. I had a great experience my first time here. It was super crowded due to the weekend but they had a ton of servers and bar staff so we still had excellent fast service. The atmosphere itself is the best aspect of MadTree. They have cool tree decorations in the ceiling and walls with lots of outdoor space. They also have a large activity space inside and out for kids. Its very family friendly. The food was overall pretty good. The fried pickles were the crunchiest, one of the best I've ever had. Sparknotes: Cool theme and great for families & larger groups If you are familiar with the Oakley Madtree, I would say that this new location is much more geared towards families. If you are expecting a young adult brewery atmosphere (especially on a sunny Saturday afternoon) then this probably isn't for you. That said, this is a fantastic gathering spot for families and larger groups. My friends rented a space inside for a birthday gathering and it was perfect - we had enough space for the 20+ people and great service from a bartender that would check in on us and place orders on a tablet. I really love the cabin style theme of this location, it is perfect for sunny and gloomy days alike. They also have a nice outdoor space with a little playground for kids that is woodsy/cabin themed as well. What a beautiful addition to Summit Park! The space is huge, bright, and inviting, with tons of indoor and outdoor seating. We watched the Bengals game from the bar, and it was a great atmosphere. We ordered several food items -- wings, a soft pretzel, and a veggie pizza without cheese -- and everyone was happy with what they got. There are limited vegetarian and vegan options, and the items I tried to order (fried pickles and the hummus & pita plate) were out of stock. I went back for Saturday brunch, and it was a little underwhelming. The hostess told us to seat ourselves and order via QR code, paying on our phones. Convenient for some, but it makes it hard to ask questions or get recommendations. The brunch menu showed exactly 7 items -- no sides, no drinks -- and the only vegetarian/vegan option was avocado toast. I tried asking about the hash brown balls and got conflicting answers about whether they contained cream cheese. When I asked for a side of fruit, I was told they just sprinkle a few blueberries on the waffle and fruit wasn't available separately. This location is super family friendly, from the camping play space inside to the nature scape surrounded by tables and swings, to the life-sized foosball table and Gaga pit, it has hours of entertainment built in. I love how much they embraced the outdoors with their welcoming seating and cozy fire pits. QR codes are available for easy mobile ordering outdoors, unfortunately you have to belly up to the bar to order any drinks. The menu is smaller(brunch looks the best, but I haven't tried it yet), but delicious. Definitely add this spot to your list! read more

Caprese Canyon gluten free pizza is delicious! We visited opening weekend and snagged the last two seats at the bar. Parks & Rec is going to be popping for a while, especially this summer when Summit Park is in full swing. Congrats to Madtree! Happy Amber is one of my favorite Madtree beers but it was great to enjoy a flight. The cocktail menu is fun but it's hard not to get a beer! Parks & Rec is killing the inclusivity aspect of a nice time out with the family. The play space out front is going to be so fun this summer, I'm impressed! Interesting concept. I guess this location is newly opened. When we arrived, we were greeted and she explained the process. It is open seating and tables are full service. We found a table quickly and were greeted with menus quickly. You open a tab to start. The location is very open with a game room, bar and event space. Lots of kids playing in the game room. Looked like there were board games you could take to the tables. Lots of young families and it was very busy for a Sunday in between lunch and dinner. I ordered the wedge salad and wings in garlic Parmesan. My husband ordered the cowboy breakfast. The wedge salad was a big chunk of iceberg with a little drizzle of ranch. With that big of a wedge, it needed a lot more dressing The wings looked great but the flavor was off. Like the garlic was bitter. You can tell they thought out the presentation with 4 drums and 4 flappers. Maybe a different sauce would help. My husband's cowboy breakfast was a disappointment. He ordered his steak medium and it was well done. Eggs were ordered scrambled softly but came out like a folded, flat pile. The hash brown balls were good with a little cheese and a hint of herbs. Service was on and off. I think we had 3-4 people "wait" on us. One got our drink order, one got our food order, one delivered food and another came by a couple times. Refills on our drinks were hard to get. Eventually, my husband went to the bar and got them. About 10 minutes later, one of the wait staff (I think our actual server) remembered and brought them. Hopefully these items can be worked out over time. There were a lot of nachos and pizzas coming out of the kitchen, so that might be good to try. read more

Love the play areas for kids (a whole camper, play firepit plush area), and cornhole giant connect 4 in an open auditorium area. Looks like they are set up to do private events as well, which would be fun. The fried food is great--brunch menu of goetta burger, frittata was yummy, and I love the hash brown balls. There's a parks friendly vibe (paper boxes, non plastic straws, Ron Swanson funko-pop hidden in the giant tree in the bar), and I can't wait until the outdoor area gets finished! Food was overall pretty good, we had half pepperoni and half sauerkraut sausage pizza with garlic Parmesan wings. The strawberry lemonade was sooooo good! It took 90 minutes to get a small cheese pizza, Taco Nachos and a Bavarian pretzel. The pretzel and nachos were ice cold, and the pizza was lukewarm and the cheese indicated it had clearly been sitting for awhile. I give restaurants a bit of a pass on extraordinarily busy days and this was Memorial Day, but the kitchen was seemingly doing their job while the front of house staff wasn't getting food to tables quickly enough. We might give this another try because I want it to be as great as the location and ambiance, but they need to improve. read more

I have such mixed feelings about this experience. First, I just want to love this place. I love the idea that they have a space that's welcoming for kids and families, and I know that isn't easy. The indoor play area is cute and fun even with a few things broken. I like a lot of their beers which is also great. They also have a kids menu, though limited, which is helpful to have. We ordered two grilled cheese meals for our kids yesterday. Both of them were pretty overcooked/hard and one of them was completely black on the bottom. With an adult mouth, I could barely bite it so I'm not sure why they thought that was an acceptable meal to give to a little kid who couldn't even eat it. I might understand the need for it to be a little different if this was on the adult menu, but if it's specifically for kids it should be edible for kids. My kids were very happy with the fries and cookies that go with it, so all was not lost. The other food we got was ok, but nothing special. Their other locations definitely have better food so we will keep that in mind when returning. Servers are great and have a lot of patience for all of these kids running around with only some parents watching them. Kudos to that team for keeping their cool! read more
