I was assigned Mae Dae Electric through American Home Shield after an HVAC technician recommended electrical repairs for my AC. At first, things seemed fine -- they diagnosed the issue, quoted me out-of-pocket costs, and I approved them immediately. But that's where the competence ended. When the technician finally showed up, they had no idea why they were there or whether they were even cleared to do the job -- despite my already confirming everything with Mae Dae's own dispatcher (who I believe was the owner). From there, it only got worse. Appointments were canceled last minute, not once but multiple times, leaving me without AC and wasting weeks of my time. I eventually gave up and hired another electrician, who came out the very next day and fixed everything in under two hours -- no confusion, no cancellations, just competent service. Mae Dae Electric proved unreliable, disorganized, and incapable of following through on work they themselves scheduled. I would not recommend this company under any circumstances. read more

I had a list of problems to address and went through my home warranty company. They were communicative and ended up doing more than putting a band-aid on the issue (which is what you expect from a home warranty contractor). They proactively replaced some outlets but explained the issue was that the type of light bulb I was using needed to be replaced. I disagreed this was the issue (it seemed too basic), but lo and behold, the light bulb replacements came in, and the problem has been solved. Thank you MaeDae electric and Ashton! read more

Super unprofessional. They were assigned to my home via American Home Shield service request. They didn't come at the scheduled time of arrival and did not call. After repeated calls to MaeDae Electric and getting someone to pick up, I was told the technician came to my home, rang the bell multiple times and knocked. This leads me to believe they not only have issues with professionalism but honesty and integrity. I work from home and also have exterior cameras. They are an extremely unprofessional, argumentative and rude service provider. It would seem I'm fortunate because upon reading the other reviews they seem to have issues with work quality and skillset. after a local power outage, I had some electrical issues in my home. I put in a claim with AHS and they notified me that MaeDae Electric would handle the issues. MaeDae sent out an electrician, Kevin, the very next day. he texted me before arriving to give me a little notice. He was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He fixed it quickly. He also explained what the problem had been and what he did to fix it. Based on this, I would have no problem having MaeDae come out for any future electrical issues. read more

Dealing with this place through my Home warranty company all around service were bad. Had an appointment scheduled for a week day and last minute on the morning of it was rescheduled due to a " family emergency " which was annoying but understandable. Was told another day they would come out only for that day another week day which I had to take off work I was told that it was the incorrect date of the service appointment smh. Had to take off a third day just for service. When the electrician came out he was friendly and my electric was fixed all for about 2 hours then back to how it was before he came out. I should have read the reviews before scheduling a service. My ceiling fan was missing the extension Pull Chain. What they did was they added a white thread 5 ft long and the guy said that this is how they handle it and he left. NEVER AGAIN MaeDae Electric services for my home for sure. read more

I went through my home warranty company American Home Shield, and we were told they arrive sometime in the afternoon. Well my wife called me at 11am (not the afternoon) to say they are at our place and will only stay for 15 minutes. I work 20 minutes away. My wife and I tried to get them to wait for me but they refused. I tried calling their number and no one is answering.l I submitted a complaint with my home warranty company due to the lack of professionalism. Absolute worst experience! If you see that your home insurance company assigned you Mae Dae, call them back and ask for another vendor ASAP! Phone line always goes to voicemail, you must leave a message, and they will contact you back at their convenience. They came out once and never submitted a report to the home insurance company, so I did not know what the problems were that needed to be fixed. Ended up having to spend more money and time having another company come out and do the same thing simply because they did not. My best advice is just stay away, getting over on home insurance company customers is clearly their thing - just look at all of the poor reviews. read more

One of the worst companies and most unprofessional staff I've ever dealt with. They were assigned as a contractor by American Home Shield (another terrible company, but that's another story), and the person who showed up at our house was Kevin Pumphrey. Never answered the phone (it always goes to voicemail), never answered voicemails and messages we sent them, never called to provide an ETA, showed up without a mask in a (still ongoing) pandemic (I had to provide one for him to wear), made it clear he didn't want to be there, was careless with my property, and was in the house for max 5 min before telling me he didn't know what the issue was or how to fix it, but that he'd research it and "someone will let you know" the results and if the work is covered by AHS, then apparently closed the ticket with AHS, saying the work had been completed. He also mentioned he "didn't deal with AHS, they want me to call them when I arrive as customers' homes and stuff like that, and I can't be bothered". Incredible that these guys are still in business. Avoid if you can! read more

This company was assigned by my home warranty service company to complete an electrical service request. I initially spoke to someone from the company on Wednesday, 10/21 and and appointment was schedule for the following Tuesday (10/27) between 8am and 12pm. At 8:21am, the morning of my scheduled appointment, I received a call informing me that the technician would not be coming due to being sick. This is understandable due to our current climate. I was told that the next available appointment was Thursday (today- 10/29) between the hours of 8am and 12pm. We rescheduled for that available appointment. Around 8:15 this morning, the day of my rescheduled appointment between 8am and 12pm, I receive a call informing me that my appointment needs to be rescheduled again. I am very understanding and know that "things come up" but to have to rearrange my day twice for appointments that are cancelled during my scheduled appointment time is unacceptable. I do not trust to reschedule again and will not recommend or use this company for my electrical services. read more

I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with MaeDae. I first was introduced to them through my home warranty company like the other reviewers, and the technician Mike was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He arrived within the given time frame, and fixed an old dimmer, a hardwired timer, and a non-functioning light switch. He also helped me figure out where the switch was to the display lights in my built-in cabinets that I hadn't been able to locate since moving in last year, and checked to see if I had power still in the sunroom where the broken ceiling fan was. He was pleasant and helpful with all of my questions. I called them again to install a ceiling fan in the sunroom (which isn't covered by the home warranty) and Mike went above and beyond to help us out by getting up into the hot attic and answering all of our questions about the attic fan which we weren't sure was running. From my experience, this company employs knowledgeable technicians and I would happily hire them again. read more

my home warranty forced me to use this contractor out of Ft. Walton. They fixed my garbage disposal but left my whole home without power for almost a week when the circuit panel needed to be replaced. They refused to replace the main breaker and also noted that it was not a problem due to regular wear and tear. I hired TWO other licensed electricians who immediately diagnosed and offered to replace the circuit panel. I paid the second contractor and now everything works great. I was EXTREMELY disappointed and shocked at how this job was handled. I paid his service fee THREE TIMES for THREE VISITS. Their dispatch would call me up with a bad attitude because I wasn't at the site because they never gave advance notice of their arrival! I felt like someone was pulling a bizarre prank on me. He fixed and replaced a switch that was functional but yet failed to fix the switch that didn't work. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. He was on-time, experienced and just a cool down to earth guy. He fixed two problems in my home in 45 minutes. His rates even if I wouldn't have had the warranty would have been great. After reading all the reviews, I was very skeptical. My home warranty referred me to MaeDae Electric for a failed ceiling fan. The appointment scheduler called me following a text message from the home warranty. The appointment was scheduled for the very next day. The technician arrived within the specified time given by the appointment scheduler. The technician was professional and explained immediately what the problem was with the ceiling fan. The technician, again, continued to explain what he was repairing and did all of it with a smile. The defective part was replaced, the technician cleaned the area and never once act as if the specified work was too much. No complaints at all and the technician needs acknowledgment. read more

Company has an agreement with home warranty service. With a power outage issue the earliest they were willing to come was 1 week. Home warranty service 'cited' them for this and other lack of service issues. Apparently a may-day call is not what they do. read more

This company employs liars. I have an electrical problem upstairs & was referred by my home warranty service. They called right away & said they could schedule for Saturday even though they doubt work on Saturdays, which I thought was great! I informed the scheduler that I would be out until 11:30 & she said she would make a note of that. I received an email quickly with a time on Saturday from 10 to 2. I thought that was great, if they came early, I was only about 5 mins away & if they called & came early, i can get home quickly. I received no call, so assumed they would still be coming. Well, 2 PM came and went, I called at 2:30; no one answered. On Monday I find out that they came, called & waited 15 mins. They said the phone went directly to VM, which I know fir a fact was a lie; it was my birthday & I received calls all day long, I think they didn't CV one either, they did not want to come into DC since they normally do not work on Saturdays. I had a terrible experience with MaeDae Electric. I was referred to MaeDae by my home insurance provider. They were easy to schedule an appointment with, but canceled the morning of the appointment as the technician had a family emergency. I understand these things come up, so we rescheduled. My next appointment was for 1-3PM. The morning of, the scheduler informed me there was a cancellation and the technician should arrive between 12-2PM, great! 2PM, and even 3PM, came and went, and we did not hear from the technician. I called and rescheduled my appointment for this morning (11/30) only to get another phone call at 9AM (15 minutes ago) to be notified that the technician had another family emergency and they would have to reschedule yet again. When we make these appointments, we have to stay home from work and adjust our entire schedules to be available between the appointment window. When we find out the morning of the appointment that they can no longer come, we have wasted a day of PTO / vacation, and ruined a day of productive work.
