Had All Clear out Monday afternoon to snake out a toilet. I had used them before and thought I could trust them. They charged me almost $800. After the fact, I checked with other plumbers and discovered normally the charge would be between $300-400. I called them and they said it was the price in their book. What makes matters worse is that I am a furloughed federal employee. I should have shopped around but some issues need immediate attention. Outrageous cost to install a water heater. They wanted over $1900 just to install, not including the standard water heater, which was partially covered by a warranty. There was nothing particularly special about the install. Just to give an idea I hired another plumber who installed a top of the line hybrid for just a few hundred more including the expensive hybrid water heater, full installation, and extra installation of venting. Plus all clear charged me $200 for the visit and diagnostic. So the total was over $2000 NOT including an actual water heater. I think they tried to take advantage of us. I would not recommend this business. read more

We had a spray leak in our ceiling and were referred to All Clear through our Home Warranty. Overall, I must say he techs that came out to assist us were knowledgeable and professional. Unfortunately, the experience still sucked because of the customer service from the front office. Multiple days we were promised callbacks that didn't happen. After some serious frustration and attempting to escalate our complaint we asked for a manager only to be told that he was in a meeting. We continued complaining and suddenly he was out of the meeting. He also promised a call back that didn't happen. If your patience can sustain the horrible customer service that is offered then you will get quality work. As for me, I'd rather go with a company that offered better customer service and knowledgeable employees. read more

Two-person crew arrived on time Tuesday. Attempted to clear the obstruction for 15 minutes, but failed. Crew said they would contact AHS to see if my coverage allowed a replacement. Crew said they'd get back to me in 3-4 hours. Didn't happen. Tuesday evening, no call. Wednesday, no call. Thursday, no call. Friday, I left a message in the early morning -- no call back. I called again Friday afternoon. Dispatcher said all technicians were unavailable until NEXT Tuesday (July 5). One week with the problem unresolved is not optimal. read more

This company was assigned by my home warranty company and they sent someone out to my parents house who didn't know what he was doing. He broke the kitchen pipe and then said that he didn't and that he found the broken pipe when he arrived. He totally lied and took advantage of the fact that he was dealing with older people. The worst company I have ever worked with and would never ever recommend. Came out for a stoppage and the result was a broken pipe. read more

These folks were great. I had to replace an old gas water heater which included bringing everything up to code. Cory explained everything to me and quoted me a price that was well within the average quotes I got. I had to reschedule due to a family emergency and they worked around my hectic schedule. On 12/17 My warranty company; American Home Shield (AHS), sent All Clear Plumbing & Drain Service, (Justin and Cody) to my home to look at a leaking water heater. The service tech Justin and Cody seemed nice and knowledgeable. They said that I needed a new water heater. I was ok with it since it's covered under my warranty. Before they left my home they mentioned that All Clear would write up a quote and send it to AHS for approval because there would be additional cost that isn't covered. As of 12/22 I had not received the quote so I called All Clear to check the status and to mention that they should have followed up with me after the initial visit to my home. I spoke to 'Alley' who said she'd call me back with a status update. As of 12/23 no call back from 'Alley'. I called again and spoke with 'Heather' this time. She said they were waiting for a response from "American Home Shield" . I called AHS who said that the vendor 'All Clear reported that my out of pocket costs would be $955. Now, if I can get a new water heater for ~$600,-700 why would I pay $955 for 'non-covered' parts? ALSO, my AHS contract says that the water heater is Covered including ALL components and parts. I spoke to All Clear again and asked what are these non-covered parts and the response was: A valve, a drain pan, expansion tank, county permit. All of these things combined are less than $200 so how did we get to $955 for out of pocket costs?? I asked "Heather" for this in writing and, of course, I have yet to receive this cost breakdown from All Clear Plumbing because it is clearly a bogus quote. All Clear Plumbing & Drain Services' additional pricing seems overpriced. When i tried to get an understanding of these charges, i feel they did not listen and to this day, i still cannot understand why they'd think i'd give them $955 for items that actually cost far less. I understand that businesses need to make a profit but this seems like a ripoff than a company making an honest living. Additionally, their customer service is horrible. Both both ladies i spoke with did could not be bothered with my issue or need to have my tank replaced. Thankfully this was not an emergency and i have time to shop around for a better deal or negotiate with my home warranty company. Lastly, to the Office Manager who responds to these YELP reviews: Please do not bother to provide yet another pathetic attempt to apologize to another unsatisfied customer for the terrible representation of customer service. My water heater died, I called All Clear Plumbing and within the hour Allan and Matt arrived, they were super nice and helpful, explained everything that needed to be done and after providing the work estimate, started working on replacing it right away. They did amazing work, the new water heater was up and running in no time and my basement was spotless. I contacted another company prior to finding them, but they didn't even show up on the day of the appointment. The plumber determined that the issue was electrical but did not submit that information to American Home Shield causing additional services fees for the electrician to come out. On a Friday night, my wife and I discovered steady, dripping water from an air duct in our basement. The leak forced us to shut the water off to the house, thus necessitating an emergency repair. We made an expedited service request through our home warranty company, but also contacted another plumbing service since we wanted the issue resolved immediately. The next day, the third party plumber arrive first, and misdiagnosed the issue. He wanted to cut into the ceiling away from the leaking site and did not believe me when I noted the audible spraying inside the drywall. All Clear Plumbing, assigned through the home warranty, confirmed our appointment a short time later and provided an ETA for the service. Our technician, Rob, arrived an hour later. He was courteous, professional, and listened to my assessment before making his. Rob kept us apprised of each step he took in the diagnosis and steps toward repair. He also made sure to note whenever a cut into the drywall would be necessary before he did it. After identifying the leak and replacing the defective pipe, Rob stayed until the adhesives dried. He conducted a thorough test of the pipe to ensure the problem was solved and cleaned up the work site. All along, Rob operated with professionalism and patience. I would gladly have Rob and All Clear Plumbing provide all future plumbing repairs in my household. read more

All Clear upgraded my water heater system to a tankless unit. The work was done well and done rather quickly. Almost two months later, it's working great. The company even did a post installation inspection to ensure high quality. I'll start off by saying they have some good techs- Jamie and Marcus seem to be genuinely helpful and are hard-working. I've had this company come out at least 5 times now for various things in my home over the last year because they are contracted through my home warranty company. I've had them come out for pinhole leaks in the copper piping, leaky faucets, leaks in the toilet, and my shower stall. They employ techs that aren't good at their jobs as well. One tech, Frank, came out to fix a leak in the seal of the toilet and ended up leaving us with cracked tiles beneath the toilet, a missing valve for the water line, and installed a screw that was way too long to bolt down the toilet- so now we have no cap (white plastic thing you put on the floor to cover the exposed screw) and no cap will fit on there, either. He also kept trying to upsell us on various things around the house, being rather pushy and insistent about it. We had another tech come out this summer to look at a shower stall that had no hot water coming out, and the first tech, Marcus, told us it was a cartridge and would be a fairly easy fix, to be covered by the warranty. They ordered the part, and when a different tech arrived to install it, it turned out the cartridge did not solve the problem. That tech (I didn't get his name) was terrible. He was not pleasant or professional and seemed irritated that the job wouldn't get completed that day. He said the repair would require putting a hole in the guest room wall on the other side to install an access panel and would require quite a lot of work and expense not covered by the home warranty. Well, he left that day and weeks went by with no follow up- the home warranty couldn't get a hold of him or get a return call either, which was critical for the process to move forward because the tech needed to submit a diagnosis of the issue to them. He never submitted the diagnosis and this was a blessing in disguise. I ended up calling having a different company come out to diagnose the issue, and they found that it was just hard water deposit that had accumulated for so long that it actually sealed off the water supply. This other company (not All-Clear) fixed it quickly, with no additional parts or construction through the guest room wall necessary. What on earth is going on with All-Clear? The tech I had was either (at best) extremely inexperienced and lazy, or at the very worst, a dishonest plumber. I called the home warranty company and had them put this company on my "do not refer, ever" list so it won't even populate in their database if I call the warranty company again for future plumbing issues. read more

I was very unhappy with my experience with All Clear this afternoon. First of all, the plumber was scheduled to come between 9am and 1pm. However, 1:30pm rolled around and All Clear was a no-show. I called their office, and the receptionist informed me that the plumber would be over to my apartment sometime before 4pm. Essentially, All Clear forced me to sit around and wait for them all day long. When the rotund plumber finally arrived, just before 3pm, he was rude and acted like it was my fault he was two hours late. Moreover, the plumber had no idea why he had been dispatched...whoever assigns service calls at All Clear did not tell my friendly plumber that I needed a drain cleared. Seeing as their very name suggests that they clear drains, I was shocked when the plumber told me that he "didn't do that." He thought he was there to work on the air conditioning unit. After hemming and hawing for a few minutes, the portly plumber finally capitulated and retrieved the twenty-five foot debris removal device (snake) from his truck. I cannot believe how surly and rude the man was. Never again. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!! Plumber showed up annoyed from the start. I told him the issues I needed fixed and he didn't seem to want to do anything of them. I told him the kitchen sink is draining slowly - he filled it about a quarter inch and then said "No, this is draining fine". UMMM no it wasn't. Took him to the basement to show him the leaking toilet and he went out to his truck. I found out later what he did in the truck was call my home warranty company (AHS) to tell them that my items shouldn't be covered (because I made the mistake of mentioning I had just bought the house). So he secretly called into the company to tell them that these issues were pre-existing and should have been noticed before I bought the house. The crazy thing is, the seller bought my warranty for me and HAD an existing policy with the same company so he thought there would be no problem getting them fixed. I wasn't trying to get over - I'd even told my warranty company all this prior and they had no issues UNTIL the plumber called in to say it shouldn't be covered. WHY DOES HE EVEN CARE AS LONG AS HE'S GETTING PAID?!!! As I was on the phone with the warranty company trying to sort this out, I told the plumber to order the part that I needed either way, whether they were going to pay for it or not, I needed the items fixed and that I'd pay out of pocket for it if I had to. He said he'd order it and call me when it came in. It has been 15 days and not one call! I have called their office directly and have called my warranty company to get them in touch with me...he has STILL never called back. I am absolutely disgusted with this company and you can be sure that I have filed a complaint with AHS about them and will make sure they never send anyone out from this company for my service calls again. read more

Had a clog in a pipe that backed up into my kitchen sink. Plumber came out and ran a snake for 3 hours, from 2 different areas, and was unable to clear the clog. Was told they needed to put a camera down, for an additional cost. The camera didn't work, so I was told they needed to cut 3 holes in my basement walls to locate the block at even more cost to me. Had another plumber come out and he was able to clear the block within 6 minutes. Don't waste your time and money with this inferior company. read more

Our water heater stopped working and we were allotted all clear through our home warranty company as of June 16th. Their technicians came out twice to get it fixed and the second time around said we needed a part to get it fixed and they would order it. 10 days in, we call all clear to have them tell us they can't even provide a status update on part that they said should have been here by now but isn't? No part number associated with it either? The lady we spoke to was Rachel and when asked for their supervisor, who apparently is Cory, we couldn't get through to him, nor did he have the decency to get back to us. So 10 days in, approaching the weekend, with a newborn in the house, we have no hot water, no update on when we would have hot water and when asked whether they could call and atleast check up on the part, we were told to call them ourselves! We are soon approaching the 2 week mark with no clear update! The absolute worst in customer service! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTING COMPANY! My water heater broke so All Clear came out to replace it (I have home owners warranty with American Home Shield). They told us that it would cost $610 out of pocket, even with my insurance paying them. The $610 was supposedly to install an "expansion tank" that he said we had to have because it was not up to code. Luckily I have a neighbor who happens to be a plumber, and he said we don't need the tank because it wasn't there in the first place, and the piece All Clear was talking about was not needed. My husband and I actually went to their office. We spoke with Paul, the owner of All Clear, and he called the tech that came out and told him what we said, and the tech, Tim, said he "thought" the piece was there. That right there tells you how much of a liar they are. They came today to finally put in the water heater (mind you my basement has been flooded now for 5 days, not to mention my family has no hot water and we have been taking cold showers). NOW, they told me it would cost $250, for a drip valve THAT IS IN THE BOX WITH THE NEW HEATER! AND, THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR REMOVING THE OLD HEATER, which wasn't a charge when they quoted me the $610! My husband is now on the phone with American Home Shield filing a complaint with them that All Clear is doing shady business and robbing their customers. We will also be filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau, as well as with WSSC, and I'm tweeting it out. AND I will be on every review website to blast them. I will do anything to get them shut down or at least have American Home Shield not use them as a contractor anymore. I obviously don't play because I drove to their office. I kid you not, if you have home warranty and they still try to tell you you have to pay out of pocket, get you another company to get a 2nd opinion. read more

AHS.sent All clear plimbing and drain to evaluate my leaking water heater. It was determined that I required a new one...no problem..there. APPT scheduled 12-4..they arrivef about 1pm..and proceed to work...no problems wirh techs..they ansewered all my questions. The problem was with thr additional non covered expenses which were over 1K..due to "code changes".. Well they finished the job and i signed the invoice..well..whenI checke my account I noticed that the quoted price was different than what was charged. Well..I called the office and spoke with Paul..W..explained. .what I was quoted..and whatI told by the technician. .. Paul agreed to knock 200.0 off my bill..and retrain his staff to be very clear with the customer. Not exactly the time of year that I want to spend $$$$ on a new heater. All Clear Plumbing shows up ahead of schedule, wearing masks and ready to work. First they take a quick look and discover that a thermostat wire has gone bad. In less than 15 minutes it is fixed. Now they don't charge me for a new wire, or the time, or the cost for a estimate. They do provide a quote when I'm ready to replace the heater. Guess who will be getting my business. I had Dave come out to fix leaky faucets, shower and leaking toilet. Dave finished most of the work on the first day. He didn't have cartridges for my shower in his truck and came back the next business day. He brought Jamie because my kitchen sink was still leaking. Jamie helped Dave with the kitchen sink that was leaking after the first day. No more leaks in my house and everything was covered under my home warranty. I like the fact they took the time to explain everything and made sure all was working to my satisfaction. They were professional and showed up when they said they would. I paid $125 for a technician to come out and create a quote to have a hose bib installed onto a capped off pipe on the back of my house. The technician and I agreed on three quote options. When I received a quote from the office, they provided me a quote for a product that was not discussed with the technician and was exorbitantly more expensive than what I originally asked for. After emailing multiple times for a quote on what I actually wanted, and paid $125 for, the business will not respond. read more

I had All Clear come out to install a new water heater after mine had bit the dust two days earlier, on a holiday weekend. They received my request during the holiday but called me back essentially 5 minutes after they opened the following morning which I really appreciate. They gave me the quote over the phone and I understood that there might be some price differences based on if some of my current plumbing needed to be brought to code. Alan and Matt called me 30 minutes out from their arrival and then arrived right on time. They were super nice and they talked to me about everything they were doing and why. They answered all of my random questions with no problem and worked efficiently, all in 80+ degree and humid weather. The price came in right on point and I felt that it was fair based on my research. When they finished, they explained the paperwork and cleaned up everything. Poor decision on my part to choose this company. I did not read reviews prior to selecting them to diagnose my issues with my water heater. I have a home warranty and company was suggested by their website. Technician left without giving us a full description of the issue. He told us that someone would be in touch with further information. NO ONE CALLED. I contacted the office on Monday morning because we had been without hot water for 4 days and had not heard any news via email or call. Was told that the tech a visual inspection and that my water heater would not be covered by my policy. My biggest issue is the lack of communication and concern to inform us about the findings. If we were informed durning the time of the call that they could not repair the water heater, then my family and I could have made arrangements or at the very least asked for a price quote from their company to replace. NONE OF THOSE OPTIONS were provided. People often say support small businesses however those are the ones who provide horrible customer service. There is a reason why Michaels and Sons are the giants of industry in this area and I should have trusted my gut and went with their company in the beginning. I'm not sure if the owners are aware of the type of service that some of the techs provide, but I hope they see this review and at the very least add some additional training for them. read more

The lovely weather froze a pipe, it burst, all water to the house had to get cut off. All Clear was sent from AHS over the weekend. After the initial experience with the tech Mike, I was feeling good about using All Clear. He was really friendly, and seemed knowledgeable and honest. He clearly explained the problem, expressed sympathy for our situation, and gave helpful solution ideas. Unfortunately, Mike was not able to fix the problem right away due to the location of the pipe. The vanity needed to be moved, which he recommended a carpenter do upon speaking to his boss. Upon leaving, the plan was for Mike's boss to call the next morning with a referral for a carpenter and to schedule the fix. We were cool with that plan because really, what's one more night with no water in your house. We're simple people, not a big deal. Well it's been 5 days since Mike came to the house. We have received no follow up phone call since the initial appointment. None. Zero. I'm not sure where the break down in communication was. Like really? No call at all. What started off as a good experience, ended with horrible customer service. In my mind, calling customers to schedule appointments would be a priority. Who knows, I'm not a business guru. Maybe they just did not need or want our business. Maybe they ran out of minutes on their cell phones. Maybe they flew to Atlanta and got stuck in the 2 inches of snow. I really have no clue what would keep a business from getting business. One thing I'm clear about is I will not be using or recommended All Clear at all. read more

Great experience. All Clear was a second opinion company from AHS after complaining about the first company, Foremost, who did nothing but misdiagnose my issue. I had a leak coming through my light fixture. Customer service was great...and the tech, Mike, was very knowledgeable, appeared to like his job, and was friendly and professional and clean.
