So I came here the first time, niece in tote to check it out and we both fell in love. It's not as cheap as some might have you believe, there are some really incredible sales/deals at times (ex: newborn onesies at 2$ each, crocs for kids for 5$ etc...), but not everything is so low priced. However the items are excellent quality and there are brand names too. It's my reliable go-to when shopping for my niece n nephew or any baby shower for that matter. P.s. It's in some random parking lot off the side of a main street so it may seem like it's closed or not there...but it is there and it is open. Free parking lot.

I said I needed help. She said, you are supposed to pack them. I said I couldn't. Then, I asked her to call for a carry out. She said for me to finish packing my items and wait over there (She gestured to the front door.) I asked her to please call for help now because I could not stand to wait. I repeated that I felt faint. She rolled her eyes and got someone to load my buggy. He passed me off to two lovely young men who seemed to be collecting carts. They were wonderful, courteous and kind. I am so upset that there seems to be absolutely no awareness of a senior with mobility issues and feeling faint. The cashiers must be told to go as fast ass they can but I could not go fast and needed help. That will be the last time I shop at that Walmart. I havw never ben treated so badly at other Walmarts.

When I went to my local Walmart, it was being sold for $230+taxes and Walmart.ca was selling it for $130+taxes. I went there on Saturday December 5 and they were following the new government directives about the maximum number of people based on the area of the establishment. Even though there wasn't a line and I was able to enter the store immediately, besides the greeter verifying that the person sanitized their hands when entering, there was someone there with a clicker counting the number of people entering. I don't know how this would work since people were exiting at another doorway which was far enough away that the person with the clicker near the entrance was not tracking the people leaving. This Walmart Supercenter is a nicer Walmart Supercenter than the one that I normally visit in Ville Saint-Laurent. I'm not just saying that because the Walmart in Ville Saint-Laurent was selling the Instant Pot for $230+taxes but this Walmart just seemed to be cleaner and better organized. This Walmart also has a McDonald's in it which the one in Ville Saint-Laurent doesn't. I managed to find the Instant Pot that I was looking for at the special sale price and went to the self checkout aisle to pay for the purchase. Once I paid, I went towards the area where I entered and noticed it was cordoned off so people had to exit at another door. I went to the exit and the security guard at the exit verified my bill as I left (as he did with others as well). As Walmart locations go (at least with the ones that I've visited), I would say that this one is one of the better ones on the island of Montreal so I will give them 5 stars. There might be better Walmart locations in Montreal but out of the 3 that I visit occasionally, the Walmart in Lasalle (on Newman) is at the top of my list. I'm comparing this Walmart with the one in Ville Saint-Laurent, the one near Namur metro, and the one in Plaza Cote-des-Neiges (and compared to those other 3 Walmart locations, this Walmart is very good).

I have not gone into the actual…read morethrift store, so I can't comment on the store itself* I am visiting my parents in Montreal, primarily to clean out their enormous storage room which, to my dismay, was like a hoarder's dream. Picture 65 years of ... stuff, from floor to ceiling in piles. A nightmare job. Anyhow, after two weeks, I finally got the place squared away. Only issue was, I now had TONS of bags of...stuff to get rid off. I'm talking blankets and pillows and bed linens (some new), a new carpet cleaner/steamer, framed artwork, old but working coffeemakers, tons of clothes, tons of totes and duffle bags, glass vases and ceramic jars.... I could go on and on. I initially planned to donate all this stuff to the Salvation Army thrift store on Sherbrooke St. W. in NDG. I drove around the block there but parking was impossible due to the high snow banks. (Even if the street was cleared, I'd still have had to pay for parking at the meter, FYI). I didn't want to park too far away as I had a gazillion bags to shlep to the store, and many were heavy. After 10 minutes or so, I pulled over and called the store, asking if they had a loading zone or garage or back door for me to temporary park, to unload all the stuff. The Salvation Army gal said no, and furthermore, the guy who assists at the front door, to help bring in donations, wasn't available yet anyhow. Bummer! I asked if there were a thrift store nearby that took donations that had a dedicated parking lot or unloading zone and the gal referred me to Renaissance on St. Jacques, just an 8 minute drive away. I'll cut to the chase here: this Renaissance place is the absolute BEST place to donate your stuff, hands down. You drive into this enormous parking lot right off of St. Jacques. Even with our recent snowfalls, the parking lot was totally cleared off. There's a big sign directing cars to the side of the building to drop of donations. Once you turn the corner there, there is a drive-up area, covered by a canopy, and guys with dollies waiting there to assist you! You don't even have to get out of your car! If you have a lot of stuff, or heavy stuff, or it's bad weather out, or if you are elderly or mobility-challenged, you don't even have to get out of your car. It is SUCH an easy, efficient system here! I can't tell you how impressed my mother and I were with this set-up. And the guys who assisted us were so friendly and nice, too. Bonus! Forget about shlepping your stuff to a thrift store in the snow, paying for parking, and dealing with the stress of all the logistics involved in getting rid of your stuff. This place makes it oh so easy.
