Great place to eat that is out of the casino buzz. Cute room, nothing incredibly fancy but it has good character and comfy dining chairs Food was good and reasonably priced. Staff was really friendly. Our server was really pleasant when I asked for some modifications due to allergies. They were a bit understaffed both times we came in. While everyone was very friendly, things took a while due to volume so if you're in a hurry bring your patience with you. Interesting: I think they make their standard bloody Mary's with tequila, which I would have called a bloody Maria. So if you're getting a bevy, mention what spirit you want. read more

So... the table had not been washed, though there were no crumbs. The table next to us had not been washed either, lots of crumbs, as the wait staff passed our table she swiped the crumbs to the floor then immediately went to the front to gather new dinners and seated them at the table from which she had just cleared the crumbs. Okay, with that being said the food was excellent; the wait was minimal. We were finished with our meal before the wait staff showed up to see if our empty glasses (had been empty since mid-meal) needed to be filled. Really cool place, staff just needs more training, otherwise I would have given five stars. read more

Went in with our family sat down immediately and was never acknowledged by wait staff. Some white lady walked in 10 minutes after we did and was immediately sat and asked if she wanted a drink to start. Very unprofessional and wait staff seems racist. Don't eat here period not good Americans. They only like those they deem important. Had to add a star otherwise no stars from me and my family. read more

Two of us went to Maggie's with not high, but decent expectations, restaurant wasn't very busy, there was us and three other tables . I can our food took 40 minutes to come. We ordered steak and eggs and a burger, the burger was basically charcoal I asked for the steak to be medium, and it was well done, barely ever saw our server and when we did, she didn't bring us everything. Floors are really gross. They are probably over 30 years old and rundown. Kind of a shame because it felt like at one point in time this restaurant was really good. I don't understand where all the other five star reviews come from because I think two stars is being generous. This is not to put the restaurant down, but maybe give some honest feedback , I am no expert in food or hospitality with restaurants, but it did impact me enough to download Yelp and write a review read more

We were not in a hurry, and we are also very compassionate people, so the wait was ok. The Ruben was delicious as were the onion rings (up charge). The ranch dressing was very good too. The burger was good, but the bacon was very chewy and hard to eat. All in all, I would go back for the Rueben and rings.... The place was dated and simple, kind of dark feeling. The service was very slow. We waited for almost 39 minutes. When our food came out, my daughter's pancakes and sausage were burnt. It took an additional 12 mins for her food to come out, the second time. Meanwhile, the rest of our family ate. I ordered the French toast plate. My French toast was too tough to eat and my sausage was also burnt. My husband started to tell the waitress that my daughter's food should've been a priority and she right away said. We went for breakfast Saturday morning during the Ice Festival. We found the side door to be the entrance where you can go in when you have kid as they don't allow them to walk though the casino (understandably). Once we got down to the host stand where it said, "wait to be seated," it took incredibly long for someone to greet and sit us. We waiting because we knew there were no other options and all but one table was empty in the establishment. Once we sat the coffee and water came quickly and food not too long after. It was a decent breakfast and the server/hostess came around often. The inside tables, carpet and walls are pretty basic and bland but if you look closely, you'll see a lot of the old architecture and character of the old building itself. read more

I spent the night in their hotel and decided to have breakfast at Maggie's. I think I made a good choice. It's down stairs from the main casino. As I walked down I liked that it was secluded from the noise of the casino. It was a nice quiet place to enjoy a meal. I was greeted by Felicia, a very nice young lady, that showed me to my table. I told her that this was my first time dining at Maggie's and she told me about some highlights of the menu. I decided on the Biscuits and Gravy. Initially I asked for the full order, but Felicia mentioned that it was quite a bit of food so I decided to just go for the half order. I didn't want to be weighed down all day by a giant breakfast. It was a good choice. It came with one split biscuit that was slathered with some delicious country gravy, two perfectly done sunny side up eggs, and hash browns. The first think you may become aware of is the number of casinos in Cripple Creek. It seemed like there were way too many for such a small town - several small ones on multiple blocks of the main street. Maggie's is a restaurant in the bottom of the Colorado Grande Casino. They are admittedly understaffed (acknowledged on a sign requesting understanding), but the servers and wait staff worked very hard and were focused on their customers (ours was #1005 - C. Quaels and he was great!). We came for lunch and it was very good. Their basic cheeseburger with onion rings upgrade was really good, although cooked a bit beyond the medium request. The Reuben with fries was excellent but was too much to eat. All reasonably priced. We definitely recommend Maggie's in Cripple Creek for lunch. read more

So this place is the second most highly rated restaurant in Cripple Creek, and maybe I was naive to think the food would be good. No, it was not. The restaurant is a small "hole in the wall" place on the side of the main strip of CC. I like hole in the wall places so that was perfectly fine! The atmosphere is "cute" and I wonder how old the place is, and how it used to look. I am sure it was beautiful in its day....but now I feel the charm has faded. The service....not great at all. The waitress had no idea how to handle someone with allergies. I asked about ingredients and every answer she said was "it is frozen" "it is instant." I was pretty surprised at this that every single thing we asked about from entrees to appetizers were described as pre-cooked/frozen/instant food. Nothing was homemade/from scratch. Nothing. For a restaurant, I felt this was a joke, especially for the prices. I ordered mashed potatoes (instant) and shrimp cocktail (frozen). The shrimp was literally yellow. Yellow. And everyone's else's meals- well, let's just say we left hungry. The mac and cheese was box, the chicken tenders frozen, and the fish n chips- frozen. These were not assumptions but words of the server when asked about ingredients. This is definitely not somewhere we will visit again. read more

First time to Maggie's Restaurant, which is located in the lower level of the Colorado Grande Casino in Cripple Creek.  The dining area is fairly small, and serving staff is limited as in many restaurants, but the staff worked efficiently to seat and serve us. Menu had a variety of choices, from appetizers, burgers, entrees and desserts.  Started off with shrimp cocktail and a dinner salad, which both were fresh and served quickly.  Dinner was served soon after, Grilled Chicken Salad, Green Chili Burger, Rueben Sandwich, and Fish and chips.  The Rueben and Green Chili Burger was a generous serving, and very good.  Chicken salad was simply a tossed salad with diced grilled chicken, and the Fish was similar to a frozen fish filet.  The outstanding items were the French fries, hot and crispy, along with similar style onion rings. Overall, a nice place to grab some food and pricing within the normal ranges for todays restaurants. From this experience, sticking to the Burgers and Sandwiches seem the way to go.  The staff was very friendly throughout the service, and would be glad to make another visit. read more

This is a great little spot to have lunch. It is quick, the service was great, and the drinks, if you wanted to drink in the early afternoon, were super cheap. The restaurant is connected to a casino. I had the Border Burrito. It was good. It had pork green chili over the burrito. It had good flavor. The burrito was really big and served with refried beans and rice. There was way too much food, and if I had a refrigerator to store it, I would have eaten the meal for 4 more days. A large group of us, 35 came to Maggies to celebrate the night before dinner for our son and daughter in-laws wedding in July. We had booked ahead of time so we could have a room together. Maggies team took great care of us. Dinner and service was wonderful and we enjoyed the historical vibe the restaurant gave our group. Everyone raved about the food. Funny little place underneath the casino. Has a speakeasy feel. 3 to 4 dishes were great but the special that night was a little bit odd. Gambling really makes a person hungry. After spending the afternoon exploring Bennett Ave, my husband and I needed something to soak up the well vodka we consumed for free at the nearby casino (all hail free drinks when gambling!) The locals we encountered highly suggested Maggie's, and now I know why - which I can describe in three words: Cheap, Delicious Food. We opted to split an order of wings, a side salad and an order of fries - all of which came out faster than expected! The small salad was kindly split into two separate salads (which were large!), which proved to be the perfect course to start. Our wings came out next, which were lightly breaded and perfectly fried with just the right amount of sauce. One order equals 12 wings, which proved to be more than we could finish, but downright delicious. The fries, which were double fried and crispy, was the perfect side dish to our meal. Best part? The price tag. Our food totaled a whopping $15, which is one hell of a bargain - especially being from Denver! We left full, happy and without a dent in our gambling money! Although the space features dark wood paneling, dim lighting and our server seemed to be a bit boisterous (either drunk or high), she was pleasant and ensured our meal hit the spot. The "hostess" who greeted and seated us was rude. She refused to seat our party of 8 - seven adults and our 16 year old granddaughter at the same table. She insisted on seating us as one four top in the front room and one four top in the back room. Would not even seat us in the same room despite many open tables. She was brusque and unfriendly throughout our interaction with her. Not someone you expect to see greeting the public. Shortly after seating us, she actually seated a party of 8 adjacent to us with 5 adults and 3 children. Arriving during dinner hours, we were told that only the lunch menu was available and that they were out of fries and chicken nuggets. I ordered the Taco Salad, and it arrived without any meat. I sent it back and they remade it. The server never offered to refill our iced teas. When one of us flagged her down and requested a refill she said "yes" and never returned to refill it. She asked if we wanted separate checks for my husband and I and our son and daughter-in-law and we said yes. When she brought the checks, she paired my meal with my son's and my husband's meal with our daughter-in-law. She acknowledged the error but then walked away without offering to fix it. I cannot imagine ever returning to Maggie's and could never recommend it to anyone. read more

We came on 8/7/21 so the restaurant was understandably understaffed (like every restaurant in Colorado) so our wait times were a little long, but the three waitresses were working their tails off!! They got some of the chips and salsa while we were waiting and holy crap those where some of the best chips and salsa I've ever had. Their well drinks are extremely inexpensive. We ordered the green chili smothered burger, and once again the fries were amazing (especially with the green chili on top). The southwestern chicken sandwich wasn't mind blowing, but on par quality and size wise. We walked the town before deciding and based off what we saw and the reviews here we chose Maggie's and I definitely think it was the best option in town. read more

Started off good. Cassie was very friendly seating us and got us water. Waitress was Ingrid she was friendly but felt the need to pull her masked to talk to us. She took our order and that was the only time she came back to the table until our check. She walked by the table 3-4 times and never picked up the dirty dishes or asked about the food. Was a little skeptical about coming here based on the stars but once I read into the reviews I quickly realized that a lot of the reviews were from years ago. I am so glad we came here. Our experience... walking to the casino we were greeted by a nice guy that checked ids and took our temp (no contact), walked straight in and walked down a staircase to Maggie's. We were quickly greeted by our waitress, Ingrid. She sat us right away and took our drink orders. She also had a group of six or seven right behind us and sat them almost immediately after seating us and took care of both at the same time smoothly.
