I had managed expectations since this is a small café inside the casino. Overall it was very fine. My husband had the Gambler breakfast with 2 pancakes, eggs, and bacon. Overall he enjoyed it. I asked for a slight modification to do the Build Your Own but with hashbrowns instead of eggs to make a veggie hash. I added all 4 vegetables (onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes) and cheddar. Our server was grumpy about it and told me she wasn't sure the kitchen could do that but sure enough they did and it came out just fine. When we checked in the said wait time would be 45-60 min and I provided my phone number. They never called. I went to hostess station and ask who much longer and they stated they called me. Opened my phone and not one missed called. Then we were finally seated and had to wait 10 min for someone to come to table. The tables are bench seats and are very tight and cramped. Very little lighting. Dark and dinghy. Ticket time for food was 27 mins. Hash-browns were cold and terrible. Eggs were cooked in same pan as another dish which gave it a disgusting taste. The build your own omelette was delicious and on point. I learned more about the small town for the waitresses because they all were gossiping instead of checking on their table. Pies! I am going to tell you a secret! The Chamonix Hotel/Casino has a "pastry chef" who is probably one of THE best in the entire state...perhaps even this part of the country. For those who are not aware...the Home Cafe is part of Bronco Billy's...which is also part of the Chamonix. The Chamonix employs the said "pastry chef". Dunno his name but from what I have heard...he has a legacy past. Anyway...the bottom line here is that this guy makes the best Apple pie I have ever eaten...and I have had some darn good apple pies over my 56 year lifespan. One twist here...although I have NOT had every one of this "pastry chef's" pies...I recently had his Coconut Custard pie. Folks, initially I told my neighbors that his Coconut Custard pie took a very close second to his Apple pie. However, as each day passes, I have quietly moved his Coconut Custard pie into the #1 spot. Just saying! The hostess is in the wrong line of work. On Saturday evening she was rude to several guest including myself. She was rude about the wait time and when we asked if we could be added to the list for seating. She said come back in 30mins and I'll add you. Went back and she didn't want to add us to the list. I asked for Togo food and was told they don't serve Togo food when they're busy and have a wait list. She didn't even want to give a yogurt parfait that was already made in the display case. She finally put us on the list. 2 hours later I went back because our buzzer hadn't went off to see that several people on the list after our buzzer number had been marked off. When I asked she sat us. The food was quick to the table. Loaded tater tots were good, fried fish and chips were really good, the meatloaf was horrible. Absolutely don't recommend. read more

This is truly an old-fashioned diner/cafe. Nostalgic by accident. I had fish and chips and my husband had one of the breakfast offerings. The breakfast was typical diner fair. (It's hard to mess up eggs and toast.). The bacon was cooked exactly like he ordered it. My fish was very good-a higher quality than usually found at a diner/cafe. I enjoyed the meal very much. Great diner food. The only reason why I took out one star was because the service was so slow. Took over 30 minutes to get our food and it was only a Philly sandwich, pancakes, eggs and ham. We were very hangry at this point. The price is cheap here. I ordered the Gambler which came with three pancakes, side of fruit and candied walnuts, ham and two eggs. I couldn't finish it all of course but everything tasted great! You can't beat that deal for $7.77! Pancakes had some crisp on the end which I love and it was also my first time trying it with candied walnuts! Delicious! I'm going to have to eat it like that at home! Hubby had the Philly cheesesteak and he devoured it. I think it could've had more seasoning added but he enjoyed it. For less than $25 meal for the two of us, it was definitely worth it! read more

We stayed in Cripple Creek for two days and ate breakfast at the Home Cafe in the Bronco Billy's Casino twice and dinner once. The food was excellent each time. I would like to single out our server for two of them. Her name is Gina and she is wonderful. We have had her before and she takes pride in her work and cares about the customers dining there. She makes sure you are taken care of. We did not have her at the second breakfast only because she was off that day. Great food, good prices and excellent service. They are fully staffed as well which is a huge plus. read more

A little cafe inside a casino. I can see why people like it, the staff all working here were very pleasant and helpful. I ordered the fried shrimp with French fries and green beans. Hubby ordered a Buffalo bleu burger. I didn't really care for the shrimp, not sure really what it was I didn't like. It was maybe not very flavorful and it was the flattened fried shrimp so I wasn't really expecting what I got. The fries were good and the green beans were as well (and there were like little bacon bits in them). My husband said his burger was okay. Another 3.5 stars experience. I rounded upwards. Normally the food in casinos is nothing to write home about. But today it was quite good. I had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich with potato salad. The hoagie bun was toasted and tasted fresh. The beef tasted like beef and it came with onions and grilled peppers. The potato salad had an egg flavor and was not sweet. I don't like a lot of sugar in my potato salad. A disabled veteran friend of mine can't drive anymore and he loves the slot machines. I took him up to cripple Creek for the day. read more

I got the Berry Berry Salad with fried chicken and husband got the prime rib sandwich The salad was amazing! Filled with strawberries, blueberries, Black berries and raspberries. Then there was cukes, tomatoes and all kinds of wonderful veggies for a salad. Served with a raspberry vinaigrette that was perfect. Husbands prime rib philly cheese steak was OK.
