The food is OK, the prices are high for what you get and quite frankly the wait to get a table is not worth it. Decor is great, the service for us was atrocious. Not great by any stretch of the imagination! Perhaps a quick lunch would be better with out kids, but I would not go back because they hose you on the kids meals as well! read more

We just had our first visit to Maggie's and we will be back. Sat at the bar for drinks and appetizers -- and the Yankee game. Warmly greeted by Nick who helped my husband make decisions with the beer menu - a good number of taps and it seems 8-10 rotate regularly! My husband is on UnTapped App, so Nick and he talked about my husband following Maggie's, so he could see the rotating taps quickly. Great find for craft beer lovers. Food was fresh and delish! At Mark's suggestion (he made a few), we went for the sliders. We chose CrAbbies. Different! Would have again. We also had the chicken quesadilla - fresh, tasty! Good fries. Nice portions. Fair price. I watched Mark expertly make a couple of bourbon drinks for another set of guests. He answered my questions. I will have that drink when I come in next time. We really enjoyed the visit more than a few of the local craft beer bars in the area! The Yankees lost, but as I said before, we will be back! read more

Never fails to satisfy!! We have tried plenty of food and beverages. If there's ever a problem they will more than make up for it.

For starters it cost me $10 for about 4oz if wine. This was their mid price range and has to be the smallest pour I've ever encountered. The mussels in white wine had very little taste if any at all. The wait team was very inattentive and we waited quite some time for them to appear more than once. read more

I've been to a good number of local restaurants and expected something more unique out of Maggie's Town Tavern. It's simply you're average American food restaurant with a larger selection, almost akin to a diner without the breakfast or wide-ranging desserts. The food was ok, but nothing spectacular or special that would make me run back for some more at a future date. Quality is very plain. The fact that they have a full bar seems to draw a crowd. I had the French Onion soup, which was watery and I wish was hotter, and was missing onions (I found maybe 3 pieces of caramelized onions at best). The cheese on top was a gracious amount, which I appreciated. I also had the Cobb Tortilla salad, which features a taco shell, which unfortunately was cold. I'm a fan of these types of salad, but this one was underwhelming compared to the ones I've eaten at Park Wayne Diner (which feature huge chicken breasts and a warm tortilla shell). Overall, a place to bring your guy friends to have some drinks and appetizers while watching sports with all-American greasy appetizers. read more

I went to Maggie's in Wayne, NJ last night (I used to go to the one in Little Falls but this location is much more convenient). The vibe, decor is cool (I love the ship lap) and the service is good but yesterday I sat near the entrance of the kitchen and was so turned off & offended by the screaming I heard coming from just inside the kitchen doors. I actually heard a man saying to someone what "are you a f***ing r****d!" I was totally shocked as this type of behavior is 100% unacceptable. When I asked someone who was yelling in the kitchen (so I could speak to a manager or possibly the owner) imagine my surprise when I was informed the man doing the yelling was actually Peter, one of the owners. I cannot believe an owner of a business would speak to their employees that way. It is unforgivable to speak that way to another human being and to say what he said is simply inexcusable. I will not be returning to this establishment as I refuse to give money to such a heinous person!!! read more

Knowing this place is knew we weren't sure what to expect the wait was longer than average but totally worth it for our food was really good. I give a lot of credit to the girls at the desk. There was a 45 minute wait and I managers effectively kept things moving all while dealing with a nasty customer who had apparently cut the line and tried to see himself. We will definitely be giving this place another try after the novelty wears out and simply cannot wait. read more

Horrible horrible horrible experience, we waited 45 minutes for our food to come out (it never came out) before we decided to leave. We watched three groups that came after us sit down and have there food come to their tables. We ask to speak with a manager named Vinnie, who told us if he was us he would never return to the restaurant because he agreed with us that the service was that bad. He apologized to us for not receiving our food but offer not explanation as to why we did not receive it. I can't help but to think it had something to do with race as we were the only African Americans in the restaurant at this time. Vinnie you don't have to worry about me ever returning to Maggie's and trust I will spread the word. Update: I spoke with the owner Maggie, who was very apologetic. She listened to all of my concerns and was just as taken back as I was about my experience. I appreciate Maggie for allowing me the time to speak with her today. Ok went to this tavern tonight sat feb 24th. Came at 6 30 waited untill 8pm before we got a table. Read the menu where it said everything was made fresh . Ordered fish and chips, ribs and a pasta dish. Ordered some starters that i swear came out of a frozen box. Ordered a salad told me they didnt have the dressing i wanted and found out they did after my meal from another waitress. Waited almost 1hour and 45 mins to get out meal. Waitress knew nothing about the menu or about the food on it. The fish and chips well terrible all batter no fish . We complainted about it and found out its not made in house so , so much for everything is made fresh. Ribs did fall off the bone but were dry as dirt and your bbq sauce was terrible also. The pasta dish i think came out of a container from bj,s. Even the dessert was sub par at best. Oh yeah that thing about we dont make everything fresh in house came from the owner. I've gone here twice since it opened (its pretty hard to get into any new restaurant in the Wayne area) and thought it was just okay. The first time we went was Father's Day and we were 5 people. They told us the wait we would be 25 minutes, okay no problem, but we waited for 50 minutes. The food was decent, everything is reasonably priced, and the portions were a good size. My husband and I ordered dessert (2 different ones) and after waiting for 10 minutes, the waitress came back and said they were sold out of both. That was a bummer. I went again last week and I specifically asked for no onions on my prime rib sandwich and there were onions on there. I left them on a plate on the side figuring when the waitress came to clear our plates she would at least apologize but she didn't acknowledge it at all. Also, when I went to take the onions off, I noticed that at least 25% of the meat was pure fat. By the time I trimmed it down, the sandwich was pretty skimpy. All in all, it's a fine place to go, and the decor is nice but don't expect to be blown away. read more

I'm not sure which location this review will go under. But I will talk about both locations separately. The food is great in both, in the wayne location I feel it's less kid friendly and much more a wanna be upscale crowd. I didn't like the wait or the seating setup for a taverns it was to industrial for a tavern. The bar area tables are too close to the bar itself so as your sitting for service at the bar height tables you are constantly bumped into and crowded around. There are so many TVs In such a small area that it's impossible to hear each other speak. The wait was 1-1/2 hours and not worth the poor service. Now at the little falls location, the servers are more experienced it's more a hometown tavern spaced out properly bar is separated so crowding isn't around your table and I personally feel it's a better vibe and space no stuck up snooty people. Food is also better at little falls location and parking is better. read more
