ZERO stars - save your money and have your 5-year-old do it at home for you. Absolutely one of the worst pedicures that I have ever had and I have had MANY. The so called "nail technician" argued with me because I wanted her to use a file after she clipped my toenails, but she wanted to soften the edges with a CLIPPER! What the heck. Clearly, she did not know what she was doing. Reply: Sharp edges existed Jason - in fact, I had to take care of it when I got home. She argued with me about it which is also unprofessional. Staff are great with nails- been coming here for over 6 years and they always exceed my expectations. Price odd fair and they spend time with your nails, not rushing to finish the job like some other nail salons here . Vivian is my favorite nail technician- explaining things with me, which I appreciate. Meticulous pedi!! I am from the midwest doing a contract job. Didnt know where to go. So glad I chose Magic!!! Viviane was very focused and a perfectionist with my pedi! She did a wonderful job. Spent a lot of time massaging calf and lower leg, as well as working on a callous I just got from some hiking. Nails look great. Super personable, nice conversation with both Viviane and Michael!! Worst pedicure I have ever had they don't scrub your feet till they are soft they don't clean your toes out they don't use sugar scrubs on your legs. They don't do anything. It felt like a two year old rubbing my legs. No pressure at all. She rushed so fast I was only there for 15 mins for the actual pedicure. Yes the staff are super nice and sweet but unfortunately the lady should know how to do a proper pedicure. You can't just rub lotion up and down in the same spot with not pressure. People come to relax and feel good I left not feeling like I got a pedicure. I could have had my kid rub my legs and painted my own toes since that's the service I got. I'm shocked with the service and people come back. Lesson learned. I would have gone to my normal place if it wasn't closed due to Black Friday. Due to reading other reviews I already expect the owner to respond defending their shop and blaming me somehow. They take no accountability as you can see from other reviews or even try to make things better. If you want a pedicure that's what a pedicure is suppose to actually be go somewhere else. I will have to go somewhere else now just to get my pedicure and feet done how they are supposed to be cleaned and taken care of. They are super nice though. Cheap too that's probably why. read more

Mr. Jason, Your management policy MAY prohibit staff to use their cell phones except for emergency calls and then just a few minutes. However, it was defnitely not enforced the day I was there. In fact, there were noi fewer than 4 manicurists on their cell phones while servicing clients for more than 15 to 20 minutes or longer while I was having my nails done. And, a male manager was passively sitting behind the counter the entire time. I think it is highly disrespectful to clients for your staff to be constantly talking on their cell phones. But, If as you say, that's the way you want to run your business, that's your perogative. There are many other nail salons in the Auburn area to choose from. read more

I have not gotten my nails done in more than a year and wanted to get them done to feel good and happy . I go and the dad starts giving me attitude because I had originally wanted to have the appointment with the son since I've already gone to their nail place before and did not like the treatment received by the dad . I started asking about prices and acrylic colors because I had not gotten my nails done in a long time. He was answering with attitude and telling me I needed to hurry up or he wouldn't attend me . He told me to go somewhere cheaper in front of everyone he was talking to me and saying all those things he absolutely ruined my day as a women you go to get your nails done to have your special time with yourself and he treated me like sh*t. I did not mind the prices it was his attitude completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I came home to cry because he embarrassed me in front on everyone and didn't even say sorry nothing just said okay when I left I even said thank you anyways and he said "okay" . I'd give less stars if I could. SO bad. I am determined to try out every nail place in Auburn in hopes of finding the perfect one. It is NOT this place. My cuticles are tore up. The Shellac/ Gel manicure: UGH. Nail chipped after one day. Three chips after three days...and they are just peeling straight off. Hint- don't file the nails after you've already fully painted them. Don't you know that you have to seal in the tips?? Oh and they had maybe 15 shellac colors to choose from. Reuse cuticle clippers/ other nail things. The guy put rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and rubbed. Not at all friendly. DON'T GO HERE. read more

I have been a client for 4+ years here and have never had anything but satisfactory service. The 2 times my gel Polish pealed they re polished it no charge. Only ONCE did I get a cuticle cut too close and it bled (but I like them to get them CLOSE). Van has always been been wonderful and always knows how I like my cuticles and always asked about my mother (client also). As for the previous negative reviews... I have NEVER EVER seen the girls on their phones. I have even been in the store when the health department came in to spot check...the inspector seemed happy and not marking/going over things that were wrong. Yes, it has been over six months, this has been very low on my priority list: my sister was in heavy chemotherapy treatment for cancer during the last few months of the year, then her condition worsened, and she passed away in January. Earlier this month I was admiring my current manicure one day, remembered my experience at your salon, looked you up on Yelp, read the earlier bad review, and decided I would add my two cents. 2. I did not threaten you, I simply explained that if you were not going to stand behind the quality of your service, I would leave a negative review on Yelp about your facility. Trust me, the recollection of my initial experience at your salon and our subsequent encounter is indelibly etched in my memory. 3. My cuticle WAS cut, it was for that and other reasons I asked to have someone else finish my manicure. I mentioned it that day to the person who finished the manicure and during the discussion you and I had when I visited the salon later to request the refund, as one of the reasons for my having asked for a different person. 4. I had the manicure on a Sunday; it started to chip within 24 hours and was in sad shape by Wednesday, and I called your salon that day or the following day, well before the manicure should have begun to show any wear. Remember I told you that the french manicures I usually get last a good two weeks, and when I came in to discuss the manicure with you when I was up visiting my sister in Auburn the next time, I showed you the manicure I'd had done a full week before that and it was still in perfect condition. I had taken the photos of the bad manicure so that I would have documentation whenever I would be able to return to your salon, since I live three hours away and it usually is three or four weeks between my visits up there. 5. I've never heard of an American manicure. I have only ever had French manicures and have only ever asked for them. I didn't like the shade of polish that was initially used during the manicure, and simply asked for something a little more pink, specifically for the Mademoiselle shade by Essie that is normally used when I get them. You did not carry it, however. 6. I do work in a law office, and have done so since 1985. I only happened to mention that during our discussion because you started to use legal terminology inaccurately while you were stating the reasons why you do not give out refunds. My very career is based on not twisting the truth. Seriously. 7. My complaint was that the manicure did not last a sufficient amount of time, and as a result I felt entitled to a refund. The arm massage etc. are simply part of the process, the result of a good manicure is that it lasts a decent amount of time. I did not want a repeat manicure that would also not have even lasted three days. I did not get the value that would have been normally expected for the price I paid, and therefore wanted the price I paid back in the form of a refund. Any business worth its salt and which desires to maintain its reputation and good relationships with its clientele is wise to accommmodate its unhappy customers in ways that change their minds about their negative experiences with that business. 8. I was a walk-in because I was an out-of-town visitor and the reputable salons in Auburn I'd been referred to were not open on Sunday. I did not give the trainee a chance to finish because I could tell she was inexperienced, and after she cut my cuticle I decided I'd had enough. I find it very interesting that she is no longer with your salon. I don't remember giving Vivian a hard time, she actually seemed rather pleasant. Thank you for the opportunity to further clarify and describe my experience with your salon, Jason. I went to magic nails last week and received the worst gel manicure of my life. Four days its already chipping! The paint is uneven and gloppy and the top coat literally has holes in it. I've been there several times the staff is pretty unfriendly and talks to each other the entire time in a foreign language. My prior visits they did a decent job, so I went back because its close to my job even though they were unfriendly. I will never step foot in this salon again and will not recommend to anyone. I got a manicure, pedicure, and gel polish. The most unfortunate part was that the gel manicure didn't even last a week! I had the gel polish applied 8 days ago and it's 100% gone. It peeled straight off. It's the first time I've ever had it done so I don't know what she did wrong but I'm SO disappointed. My nails are unscathed (you can't even tell I had gel polish on) so clearly it was not applied correctly. I had New Years, an open house, my anniversary, and then family visiting and i was looking forward to having pretty nails. So much for that! I went here based on a friends recommendation. The co-owner/wife is the woman my friend saw but she was out sick. I get a pedicure MAYBE once a quarter (more like 2x a year) because I have to little ones and I'm always busy. This gift of time and "extra special" treatment was from my husband. I went with high hopes because of the other reviews. Unfortunately, the place was really dirty, looks like it has never had a good, thorough cleaning. They keep the tv on the whole time (made it hard to relax), my pedicure water was not hot (I even asked for her to add hot water and it was still not warm enough), and she took very little time to massage my legs and arms. I think the lady was new because she didn't even know the co-owners name-? Anyway, Save your money and your time...go somewhere else. I am very picky about my nails, and get them done the way I want them at Magic Nails. Manicurists are courteous, consistent, and good at their work. I have been to Mood Nails (not for long) and 2 other places in Auburn, and will stay at Magic. Jason is the absolute best, and for pedicures, Van is awesome. It is a pleasent family-run environment. On one occasion, they ran 15 minutes late and went out of their way to make amends. I have been getting my nails done for over 30 years, so I know what to expect in service. There are many salons that are high-end, and I have been to those too, but none are better than Jason and Van. read more

Worst expierence ever!!!long story but will make you think twice I went to get a full set he start off by putting on the fake nails glue every where after that he put the acyrlic than he started filing my nails and I don't know if he wasn't paying attention or what but I start feeling a hot painful sensation on my finger that he was filing he starts getting a tissue and cleaning than I see blood runny down my finger he panicked a little he just said sorry sorry like no I'm bleeding here not like a little blood I literly had a deep cut he just kept cleaning it but blood was still everywhere. After that I was in pain my finger was literly swollen he finished up after a long hour. He just said if you or your sister need to get fixed just let me know when I went to pay he was charging me $35 and acted like nothing. I was like no I'm not going to pay full price when you made me a deep cut he said pay 30 and he was just so rude after that. After coming home I realized he was filing my skin that he had put glue on and that's why I felt the hot sensation he was filing my skin!!!!!!! Never ever coming back. read more

i gave 3 stars for the nails job , i been to magic nails once and it was overall ok, i got a pedicure 25$ and it was ok, massage part was alright. the shop was small and not many choices of colors, either regular polish or gel polish.
