Wanting a second opinion and feeling something was off (way off) i found A1 Auto on Monroe and Friends and brought it in. The tech came out with a odd look on his face and said "I don't know why that other shop wanted to replace the entire rack n pinion, we can only find a leaking power steering pump. At best it might just need some new hoses. At worst it needs a $500 pump and that's it!!" First time visiting this shop and they've saved me several thousand dollars already. I was about a mile away from Tuffy and when I called them, they offered to come jump me and get me to the shop for free. They made sure it was the alternator, quoted me a fair price and got it done in just a couple of hours. I was able to pick up my truck on my lunch break. I asked if the Yelp check-in coupon could be used, but he stated they already changed the oil with all synthetic and the coupon was for half-and-half.
