He only recommends braces or treatment when it's truly necessary for a patient's growth and development, especially for kids. You can tell he has patients' best interests at heart. The whole team is so friendly and welcoming! They go out of their way to make sure you never leave with any questions, which is super reassuring. They're fantastic with kids and adults with ADD, showing so much patience and understanding to make sure everyone feels relaxed and supported. You can tell they genuinely care about each person, not just as a patient but as a person. AND they will meet you in the clinic after hours if there is any discomfort or pokey wires. A special shoutout to Terrie, who's amazing at working with payment options and helping you find a plan that fits your budget. She makes it so much easier and stress-free! If you're looking for an orthodontist in the Beaverton area, I highly recommend this place! You'll feel like part of their family. Dr. Ensley, Dr. Sara, and the entire staff are awesome!

I'm due my next set of trays and am having to wait over 4 weeks for them for their scheduling issue and the delay in getting the trays. I really dislike the experience and the communication. Front desk staff are nice. A plethora of good customer service on confirmation to continue, distinct lack of service, communication and sense that they have any clue what is going on with you beyond what is front of their face from there. I took my son here YEARS back, which is why I returned, but the experience and care is not at all the same. BIG thumbs down, but now I'm stuck... I'm sure they are definitely making a lot of $ on this set up, but the patient/customer side of it is VERY LACKING. Go somewhere where you have a partner in your care. That place is NOT here.

It was 15 years old and the bonding came undone on one tooth. I went in and they were very friendly, but I am immunocompromised and there's no room for error, especially having my mouth open and people wearing flimsy masks in my face. I reached the room with the assistant woman, a blonde with long false lashes, I didn't catch her name, and before entering, asked if she was vaccinated. Thankfully she was honest with me and said no, and I asked if there was another assistant who could take over, as I'm immunocompromised and cannot be around unvaccinated people if I am unmasked. She left the room and Dr Delplanche came in. He approached me and tried to shake my hand. I said no and he looked confused. Why would someone try to touch hands with an immunocompromised person during a pandemic? He then goes on to say that he is vaccinated, and that he has "never run into this issue before" Excuse me? You have never had a child or adult with an immune issue in the last almost 2 years of covid? That is HIGHLY unlikely. They haven't had any complaints, because they don't make it clear the staff is unvaccinated, so unless you ask, they don't mention it! Then his unvaccinated assistant knocked over my walking cane and touched it and handled it. NEVER touch someone's mobility device, and if you do, wash your hands! I had to sanitize the entire thing when I got to my car. He did the repair alone, as that was his only assistant. The ENTIRE TIME I was in that chair he repeatedly mentioned to me how annoying, time consuming, and clumsy not having an assistant made him. He literally whined the entire time about how difficult I made his job. I couldn't even respond because my mouth was occupied. He also started insulting the orthodontic and dental work I have had done decades ago, citing he would have done it better. Then tried to convince me to buy new retainers from him! He also quoted me "way less than $200" for the repair. When I up front to pay. They said "$200" and I asked to speak to the doctor because he LITERALLY just said a different cost, and they said he was busy and couldn't come out. I have never felt so uncomfortable and pressured at a dental office, and I have had 15 years or orthodontic and dental work, including surgeries and implants. I know medical professionals and dentists need to be vaccinated by October 18th, but if I were you, I'd ask for proof of vaccination.

She feels so safe there that she wanted to keep her braces on just to be able to keep seeing everyone. They have been amazing every step of the way with her, and our family the last few years. We recommend Dr. Matt & his team without any hesitation! Not only do they do excellent work, but they are truly just really good, warm people! But one thing they didn't take any account for was someone who has potential dental fear. I have had so many negative experiences at dentists and I had braces for many years as a kid. So when they told me "you need to have him surgery to correct your recision before we can do braces, and you'll need to have "TADS" screwed into your jaw to fix some issues as well." Gum surgery for recision is one of the things I've wanted to avoid for 20 + years. But having been told I had to do this, AND something was going to have to be drilled into and screwed into my jaw was utterly terrifying. When I was leaving they asked if the front office staff had any referral sheets for the periodontist. And they said no, just the sheets they had dropped off. This rang an alarm bell for me too as it seemed like a new relationship and I felt a bit like a guinea pig being sent to a new doctor to help build a relationship. I was pretty upset, seeing dollar signs AND very scared for the upcoming dental issues I was facing. I immediately called the friend who referred me, because she worked in a dental office as an assistant and understood everything. She suggested that I contact my dentist and if I felt comfortable, the first orthodontist's office I has gotten a quote for braces through to ask these questions. When I reached out to the other orthodontist's office, I found out that the dentist had worked in periodontistry for 8 years prior to orthodontist work. They told me that they disagreed, especially with the TAD recommendation, but to see a periodontist just to get an opinion on the state of my gums. So several months later, I did see the periodontist, he has been doing this for MANY years and has stellar reviews and was amazing. He told me that I did not need to have surgery yet. He said I would likely be a candidate in the future, but I didn't need to worry yet. When I got this information, I only further felt that I had been referred to establish a business relationship, and I was truly turned off by that. I was further turned off by how much follow up I had to see when I was starting treatment and which options I was going to choose, even after I explained that we were planning to use our HSA In 2022 to do it. So so many reasons I did not choose Walker Orthodontics but they were also much more expensive on their quote than the practice I decided to use. The staff was kind, but not sensitive in my opinion.
