Everyone I met today was kind, thoughtful, caring, patient, informative, good humored, and very very likable. Today's visit was a cleaning and x-rays, which was very pleasant, this coming from a person with Doctor and Dentist anxiety issues. Followed by a state of the state of my teeth based on the x-rays by Dr Alex. He has a wonderful bedside manner, he explained everything thoroughly, and provided guidance on next steps for what I am calling a "tooth surprise". Dr Alex and his team stepped up, put a plan in place, made arrangements for my tooth emergency, and engaged all the right players. I even got a "Dentists" version of a swag bag. :*) OVERALL: SUPER GREAT EXPERIENCE AND CARE.

Dr. Marrero was very kind, humorous, relatable and I felt like he did not judge me, like other dentists have in the past. Dr. Marrero did a very thorough job cleaning my teeth and he fixed my front tooth chip that I have hated and not wanted to smile in pictures in years. I have not had a dentist do such a nice job working on my teeth in years. He had no problem giving me as much numbing as I needed to make my comfortable. I am so very glad I met him, and feel like I have finally found a good dentist who does things right the first time. Thank you to the Summercrest Team.

Both my wife and I really like our hygienist.  Although forced by the pandemic to revert to manual tools (vs. the more modern power-washing method), her technique is as close to perfect as is humanly possible.  Never any bleeding or accidental pokes, which have happened many times with other hygienists.  And although today was my first filling from the dentist, it was my 4th or 5th cleaning (we became new patients last year), so that assessment has a solid data base behind it. And my wife has had one of their crowns that they make while-U-wait, right there in the office (total time about 2 hrs) and it actually fit better than either of her other two, both of which required her to return after a few days to have the temporary crown removed, which can be painful.  Fantastic! I called and made my appointment. At the initial call, I have provided all my insurance information. The first available date was out more than two months. In the mean time. I filled out a lengthy questionnaire online that included dental and health conditions, but was quite extensive. Than, the day before the appointment, they called me to inform me that they are not in network. Since I did provide my insurance information on the initial phone call when the appointment was made, they had ample time to figure out if they in fact were not in network, yet they claim that because they just got my filled out form, they did not know sooner that they were not in network.The bottom line is that I lost more than two months of time and I really needed to see a dentist, and they showed zero interest in taking any responsibility for waiting until the last minute to inform me of this key fact. While the dental services might be good, but treating potential clients with such low level of care provides a picture that is less than desirable for wanting to be a client or a patient to such an outfit.

This office really REALLY cares about the patients. I mean they KNOW us. They notice when we have a new look, cute outfit or shoes, ask the kids about school. It's got a super FUN vibe. They REALLY care. Dr. Park REALLY cares. She is so fun and so kind and she cares that the patient gets the result they want. I love having beautiful straight teeth. And not only that but because my teeth had ALWAYS been so crowded, I hated flossing because it hurt. I could ONLY use extra thin waxed floss. Now I floss everyday. And man I realize how nasty my teeth are if I don't lol Myself and my kids have had treatment here. ONLY my son, who refused to wear his retainer, hasn't maintained that perfect smile. But that's NOT on Dr. Park. I love their office. Every member of the staff is fabulous and they all genuinely care and are always friendly and care. I went into the office to have a crown replace that looked discolored that I had for years. He seemed to find 3 other teeth he felt needed work. I asked they get past dental X-rays from less than a year. When I went to the front desk to make an appt for new crown I was never explained what the estimate was on all the teeth. At any point was detail of all teeth estimate explained not even by dental asst. After getting home I see $299 that showed I would be required to pay. I called to ask for details of this & why not submitted to insurance. They never called me back & sent me only a total amount charged (no detail for me to sent to insurance. I don't feel this office is honest with billing, or telling their patients correct info. I won't be going back.

Unfortunately, our visits were often unpleasant because of his behavior. He came across as rude, impolite, and unprofessional on multiple occasions. As the first point of contact for patients, a receptionist should be welcoming and respectful, but that was not our experience here. We hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and works on improving their front-desk customer service, as it makes a big difference in patient experience.

I've been meaning to write a review for Hillside for quite a while now. I've been a patient of Dr…read more Braxmeyer for (I think) 7-8 years. I work from home and Hillside is right down the street from me. My previous dentist had retired, so I chose Hillside initially based on close proximity to home. The nice thing about the office is that they'll print out a plan for the work to be done on your teeth (if you have lots of issues like I do)--in my case, this is a long-term plan over several years in order to coordinate my dental insurance and what I pay out of pocket. Fixing teeth is not cheap, no matter where you go! But I find Dr. B to be practical. She prioritizes the work, so I know what I need to get taken care of more urgently. She is professional but also friendly and receptive and has a good sense of humor. I always know she has my best interests at heart. Also, she is VERY patient when she applies the numbing agent (shot)--slow and steady. You may not think that matters so much, but I had a dentist a long time ago who shot me up so quickly and often didn't leave a lot of time for the solution to fully numb and inevitably would have to give me a second shot. I thought that was "normal" until I went to my prior dentist and to Dr. B. A dentist should not rush you through the drilling process, and I know Dr. B cares about my comfort and doing things right. Also, Sam is one of her dental assistants and is most often the one to work with me. Sam's my buddy and has a great personality and sense of humor. She, too, is very thorough and cares about doing things right. I used to need nitrous oxide before drillings with my prior dentists, but I don't need it anymore because this team puts me at ease and I know Dr. B is going to be gentle and take her time and drill carefully. The front office has endured a number of changes over the past couple years, but I haven't had any negative experiences. Up until this past spring, I had the same dental hygienist all these years, but there have been changes there, too, and I understand there's a serious shortage of dental hygienists everywhere, so it takes time to get the right people in place. That said, I've never had a bad experience with my cleanings. Overall, Hillside Dental has a good team of quality professionals and I'm pretty happy with my experience over the years. If you live anywhere in the neighborhood (or work nearby), Hillside is a great place to go.
