Especially if you are young and your teeth are in pristine condition. Dr Nguyen seems to be ill-suited to dealing with geriatric patients though. I am hearing disabled and with everyone wearing masks it was impossible to have a conversation. My not being able to hear her seemed to irritate the doctor to no end. I worked with the office staff over e-mail prior to my first visit to develop a treatment plan that was workable and affordable using my insurance. Apparently, this plan was never run by Dr Nguyen for approval. During my visit Dr Nguyen said I needed to go to a Periodontist and not come back until s/he has cleared out several pockets in my gums. My dental health has been in decent shape (for a very old man) and I've been under the care of a very good Dentist for many decades. He retired several years ago so I've been looking for a new dentist that is in-network for my insurance. I was told that I would be getting "Periodontal Maintenance" treatments at Perfect Smiles so when I inquired why I was being sent elsewhere the Doctor blew a fuse. So excuse me for not knowing that "periodontal maintenance" is not actually performed by a Periodontist. You may totally love this place. Clearly some of my fellow Yelpsters do. While the staff was very nice (at least until I was politely told to go elsewhere) all that sweetness and sugar coating is a facade. I started seeing my previous dentist when we were both young. He was right out of OHSU dental college. I was hoping that he would outlive me but I never imagined that he would retire just because I did. If you don't have a regular dentist that you know and trust you may find locating one in this town to be quite a challenge. Dr Nguyen was crankier (at least towards me) than any Naval dentist ever was and those guys are legendary for being crabby.

I'm going to be 100 percent honest, I did my research guys and I'll save you the time stop looking around I promise you Hi5 is the BEST place to take your child. The staff is 100 percent understanding, Doctor Jessica Irwin genuinely wanted was best for my family. Doctor Irwin has a child of her own and I feel as if she understands where a parent is coming from . I'm really only on here to say thank you to every single one of there staff and extremely thankful Dr. Irwin it's almost as God dropped her off at my front door steps as a Christmas present. I recently took two of my kiddos there for an appointment that was scheduled a month out from when I called and the appointment was only that soon because I made several complaints. When the doctor told me both of my boys need follow up treatment, I was happy to hear that they are referring my son on the Autism Spectrum to a specialist. Instead of being able to make the other follow up appointment in-person, while I was right there, I was told that I needed to call. Calling leads to long wait times on hold. Additionally, the follow up is scheduled for December, and my child may not even have insurance by then. Go elsewhere if you have the opportunity.

We had a wonderful first visit at Beaverton Kids Pediatric Dentistry for our son's first dental…read moreappointment. The first impression was established long before we even set foot inside the beautiful space, when I exchanged texts with the scheduling staff to coordinate a time for the appointment and insurance. We had an insurance glitch on our end, for which we had to cancel and reschedule the initial appointment, and the staff was extremely kind, communicative, and non-judgemental. I really appreciated whoever was texting me on the other side, for their warmth and helpfulness, sharing information I needed without any added pressure. That experience alone set the tone for how the experience was going to be once we made it in. In terms of the appointment itself, it was so seamless, and to be honest, quite a luxury experience! The space is gorgeous and welcoming, and you can tell Dr. Chloe put a lot of thought into curating every little detail of the space, from the soothing paint colors, to decorative elements, to the playroom, to the little board with the kids' names! Each dentist chair had an overhead TV for the kids to watch their own shows while leaning back comfortably for their procedures. My son didn't even flinch or notice there was anything actively happening inside his mouth the entire time! At this time they have Netflix available (which we don't watch at home, my kid is usually glued to his niche shows on Disney+ and YouTube). The hygienist did an amazing job communicating with my son and me, making him feel like he was making his own big boy decisions (i.e. choosing the flavor of polish), and Dr. Chloe was so personable and thorough. We were fully ready to get xrays done for the first visit but she recommended saving it for a future visit so the first one would remain a positive experience for our kiddo. We are so happy to have found Beaverton Kids Pediatric Dentistry!

Came in happy, left disappointed. A dental assistant wearing a dark colored smock, with white stuff…read morespattered all over the front of it, obviously from other patients before me, was the first problem. I found this highly Disgusting! Secondly, anytime I tried to ask a question with this same person, I was abruptly interrupted half way every time I spoke. Regardless of how many attempts to finish the same question (did she just not hear me?), I was continually met with the same repetitive interruption, "you can ask Dr. Baskerville". Not showing a bit of concern of what I had to say, or even knowing what I was going to ask, pretty much made me feel uncomfortable enough to just want to leave. At this very same time, Dr. Baskerville walked in, asked me how i was doing, and to be honest, let him know exactly how I felt, and at that very moment made the decision to leave, hoping to avoid any further conflict. Why didn't I just overlook it all, and continue my appointment? In my mind, complaining about it only made matters worse, as the assistant was within ear shot the entire time, knowing she would be the one assisting my Dentist. Especially having had the previous experience of many times, having this same person continually jam the vacuum hose into my mouth, causing intermittent sharp pain, and deep enough to cause me to want to gag. A problem I've never had with other dental assistants. I never complained about it then, but enough is enough. During this time, I was told, "People have their good days and bad days". This is true, and that's ok, but highly recommend, if having a bad day, stay home, and don't position yourself around people who solely rely on positive reassurance and trust while in a dental chair.
