When I dropped it off she didn't tell me how much was it until I came to pick it up. Of course at that point it was already too late. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My only goal here is to warn others about this place it's a absolute scam. None of this is exaggerated. I took 5 dresses and 2 skirts there 3 weeks ago and as per the sign on their door, items have a 2 week turn around because of staffing problems. Fine, understandable! I returned after 2 weeks and my items weren't ready. 3 days later I returned and was told to come back at the end of the day because my items hadn't been started yet (mind-boggling). I returned yet again and everything was done except 1 dress. I paid (important detail) and when I got home I tried on the skirts and they were not altered. I took them back to be "redone" (they weren't done at all to begin with, but fine). My last dress was ready by then and I tried it on at the shop. It also, was not altered. These people do not do ANYTHING and charge an arm and a leg and then act like you're crazy when you point out that your items look EXACTLY the same as before. I will be taking my items to another place and paying for them all *actually* be redone. read more

Others here have already treated that, favorably. Is she good at what she does? Do you think I'd be writing this if she weren't? And she's"old school," in a good way: she doesn't take herself too seriously, like the hundreds of others in the business, who've affected European-sounding names ("Jacques." "Enrique." "Pablo." ) but who really are all "Michaels, Joes, Joses, maybe even Herberts, and who primp while they pin. She wins. The others are distant seconds. read more

I went with a friend to pick a dress that she dropped off a week ago the woman wrote on her receipt to pick it up on Saturday and it was not ready.... She does not live close to be coming back everyday also the costumer service was awful, no sense of quilt or responsibility... ! On top of that the price is astronomical even tho it's their fault for not having it ready by the time they told their costumer to come back they need to do better, yeah quality is good but how much are you willing to pay so they treat you like shit... unacceptable. that's why they don't have 5 starts because they are dumb and don't care about their costumers ! read more

Friendly and quality service at reasonable prices. Turnaround can be a little slow but that's because they are busy.

I highly recommend Magic tailoring. My daughter had to get an ill fitting blouse (for a very important occasion) altered. The blouse had a lot of ornate bead and sequin work on very fine fabric, with lining underneath. The first place we went to, took one look at it, and said he couldn't alter it because of all the bead/sequin work. When we got to Magic tailoring, Yolanda asked my daughter to try on the blouse, and within minutes, she diagnosed the problem. She needed just a small piece of fabric to extend both shoulders, and fortunately we had a matching mask she was able to cut out some fabric from. A week later we went back to pick up the blouse, and it was a perfect fit, and so well done that we couldn't see where the patch of fabric had been blended into the blouse. Perhaps Yolanda didn't recognize me after 4 years of not altering my suits at MAGIC TAILORING while in Coral Gables, and my shedding 50lbs!!! But she was always as sweet as ever, and provided a hem alteration while I waited, and was not charged. Even though I could have taken my suit to be altered during my trip to Washington, D.C. next week by expert tailors I know there, I'm glad I still have a gem called "Magic Tailoring" !!! So, I guess it's my fault that I should have asked their price before I left my dress their for alteration. It was just a simple black dress that needed to up hemmed up for a black-tie wedding. Found this place via yelp, and tried it despite the previously existing two-star rating ... and eureka! We found the excellent tailor we have been looking for! The tailors are very friendly, and their work is outstanding. They've altered about ten articles of our clothing, and my husband even leaves his military uniforms in their care for alterations. They're located right off US1, and the work is priced quite fairly. You can't go wrong here. read more

Magic Tailoring is by far my favorite tailor but to touch on cost concerns, it's probably not the cheapest. I've been to other "Top tailors" in Miami though and for the same price I've gotten far inferior service. I mean, some other people can't hem jeans/trousers to save their life. Magic Tailoring gets it right every time. It doesn't matter if I have the right shoe on or if I ask for them to use the existing hem or to just to match the thread. My pants will fall perfectly and look just like the designer intended. I won't lie though, their alterations on dresses do cost a bit much...I don't get it. I'm 5'0" so I have no choice but to save my dough and rely on a good tailor so you can trust me. Or you can also trust the other labels found hanging around the store while they wait to get picked up -Gucci, Burberry, Armani, you name it. If you want it done well, this is the place to go. If you can take your chances, then you can always bargain shop elsewhere and visit Magic when it really counts. read more

They were rude, unaccommodating, and impolite. I've been a customer for over 3 years, usually they are helpful, but this time I was treated so poorly that I would not return. Despite being a loyal customer, she treated me like crap and showed no compassion. I had been traveling and arrived yesterday night. I went today to get some 2 pieces of clothing altered for summer before I leave in 3 days. I drove over 40 minutes just to get to the seamstress, and when I arrived just said "I have too many things to do, I can't fix your clothing." I tried to negotiate and explain my situation to her, but she simply did not care and did not make the SLIGHTEST effort to help me or at least show some compassion. All she said was "I don't know, maybe try Nordstrom." I had even called before driving to make sure they could help me, but nobody answered the phone. Even the previous customer later commented to me that her clothing were supposed to be ready today, and that she drove there as well only to be told they weren't ready. I read all these reviews before I came in, and I thought the bad reviews for far less than the good reviews. I liked their hours and location. The woman that assisted me must be the owner. She was there when I dropped it off, and when I picked up my white dress. I purchased a white dress for a white party that needed to be hemmed. She told me 35.00, and then said she could tighten the hook at the top to stop it from falling down. She didn't explain that fixing the hook would cost more. Make sure you ask how much eveything is if you do decide to come to this over priced alterations place. Also make sure you give youreself a week before your event because of what happened to other people and myself. I was excited to pick my dress up. I arrived, she greeted me and asked if I wanted to try the dress on. I put the dress on and was in shock that there was a huge chalk like gray stain on it. It looked like 2 long lines. I walked put of the fitting room and showed her the lines. She told me that I must have brought it in that way. Um... no, I didnt. This dress was brand new and trust me, I would have noticed this before I left it with her. She was nice enough to give me a discount for dry cleaning however, this is a hassle just to go to the cleaners. I paid the cleaners 40.00 and the stain is lighter, but it's still there. I've wasted time, energy and money on this white dress. I need to find another dress!! I've called her and spoken with her. She claims they didn't create the stain and she doesn't remember. Go somewhere else! Drive a little farther and pay less. Maybe your clothes will come back when you need it and without a stain. read more

I came to Magic Tailor on a recommendation from the staff at Tommy Bahama in Merrick Park. I knew I could trust anything coming from TH and this tailor did not disappoint. Yes, they are a tad pricey. However, if you're fond of the article of clothing you need fixed, come here. I've experienced plenty of horror stories and simply won't take the risk any longer. You have the option of keeping the original hem (which I highly recommend for jeans), or a regular hem which is more affordable. They also do a fantastic job of taking in or letting out items. I've come here numerous times when I needed pants tailored, and they have always been wonderful and done a perfect job. I never found them to be pricey. Maybe they gave me a cheap price because the alterations were easy or because I'm nice and not demanding, but they have always been kind, timely, and provided quality work for me. Once, my pant leg hemming came a little undone when I accidentally snagged it on my foot or shoe, so I brought it in and she fixed it free of charge because she had tailored it before. I found about Magic Tailoring through an article in GQ about the "Best Tailors" by city. I took a new linen suit I bought for a summer wedding that needed some serious tailoring. Yolanda was super nice, helpful and honest with her suggestions. The suit ended up fitting me perfectly as it was made for me. I'm very happy with them and look forward to going back. Even after coming to pickup my dress 1 day after the expected date, it was still INCOMPLETE. 3. They did not give the price the day I brought it in, even though I asked. 4. They only wanted to offer a small discount to rectify the situation after I specifically asked. 5. I left 3 pieces to get alterations on a Monday and was told they'd be ready by that Friday. I came back the following Thursday, as in 6 days after I was told my items would be ready and they were sitting there on hangers on a rack. I was told "can you come tomorrow?" With no apology or credit or explanation! You'd think if something wasn't ready you'd call the customer to let them know. They just gave me back the clothes with the pins and chalk marks everywhere. Ok, let's get the price out of the way. They are slightly more expensive than other tailor shops out there but for good reason and I'll explain why. I went there to shorten and taper 5-6 jeans as I was getting tired of them sitting in the closet. I tried all of them on at the store as they have two fitting rooms, and the woman marked and measured all of them. Fast forward 5 days and they were done. I went to pick them up and immediately was shocked at the quality. The reaction in my head was, "Wait, what? How? Where's the cut?" She flipped the pants at the leg end and I saw the stitching and taper work inside. Wow. It literally looks like it came out of the factory, if not better. Straight as an arrow with perfect millimeter length stitches. The quality of the work is incredible. Unfortunately, three of the jeans were still an inch long and not tapered enough to my liking. That wasn't a problem, she gladly took those back and fixed them 3 days later. Now I have all my jeans perfectly custom fit and tapered. On top of that, I received them ironed and cleaned. For reference, I have been to two other tailors in the past, and they were ok, but not as high quality as this. The phrase "you get what you pay for" does apply here, and because of that, I highly recommend them. read more

I have had so many horrible experiences with this place! I took a dress to get altered for my bridal shower and the day before I went to pick it up. When I got there, the dress hadn't been touched! They forgot and asked me to go back in 1 hour. It still wasn't ready and I had to pick it up the day of my shower. They did not even fully finish the length and it was long on me. (They still tried to charge me an obscene amount for this). My sister in law went months later to get her dress for my wedding hemmed. When she went to pick up her dress, they had cut the tulle unevenly so it was shorter on one side than the other. They had to see the tulle back together. They are AWFUL! read more

We found Magic Tailoring by accident. They hemmed and took in a pair of my husband's jeans and the fit was perfect. After he went somewhere else to have a suit and some jackets altered because it was less expensive,we found that they had made mistakes and even ruined a brand new tuxedo. We immediately returned to Magic Tailoring and have never looked back! They may be more expensive than others but are well worth it.
