It was Bash/Prom time and my daughter's dress arrived an eight (8) days before the event. I walked in on Tuesday and was greeted. The seamstress had my daughter try on the dress. She asked my daughter what she wanted done (take it in around the stomach and chest area, make it a little shorter so that she could walk in it, and keep the mermaid flow). She marked and put pins init of. We paid (comparable price), she told us that we will receive a text when the dress is ready, and we left. Tuesday afternoon came and we received the text. We prayed that it was done correctly AND IT WAS!!!! She tried it on and it was perfect!!! I will DEFINITELY go back here again. read more

Bad customer service: Walked in. There was one woman in front of me. The front desk person was being measured for her own alterations done and the other woman and I were left there wondering who exactly was going to step up to the register and ask what help we needed. Finally, 5 minutes after sitting there staring at her, the woman who was being measured decides to come to the register and ask what we need. After waiting 15 minutes while the woman in front of me finishes showing the clerk where badges should be sewn on her husbands jacket, I speak up and ask if I can just pick up my jacket so I can get going. I mean who waits almost 30 minutes to pick up their dry cleaning?! Poor alteration service: I had a pair of high end designer jeans altered here. When I got them back and tried them on, I could barely squeeze my foot through the ankle hole at the bottom of my Jean. Find another local dry cleaner that will value your not only your business but your time also. Oh and know before you go tip: credit card minimum is $10. I would hate for you to wait as long as I did only for them to tell you you can't take your one piece of dry cleaning home because you don't have cash. It happened to me after my long wait. The resolution I was offered, "we'll just charge you $10 even though your piece is $8." Definitely won't be spending another minute or dollar here. Good riddance. read more

This is the worst place to take your clothes for alterations. I took a skirt and and pants to alter the length and they damaged both. The skirt is shorter than expected and can not be fixed because it was cut too short. The pants, I don't know why they would hem the pants how ever they felt like, instead of following the same hem pattern. It was done so poorly that the pants does not fall nicely at the bottom. If you value your clothes, do not take it to this place, you will be 100% risking. They use to be good until the owner changed. The quality of work is no longer the same. read more

Fantastic seamstresses. The manager Giselle is busier than God but she is efficient, courteous and always happy to see me. The place is always busy so you may have to wait a bit. Their alterations are top notch. I used to go to another tailor and I would have to wait for weeks and once (the last time) months. You get your piece back within one week. Horrible. Horrible attitude. Horrible customer service. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. The rest of the yelpers complaining of the same thing aren't lying. As I waited to be attended, I overheard another customer coming to pick up their order which was promised to be ready by the day she was picking it up only to discover it wasn't ready and wouldn't even be ready by the day promised. Only after the costumer put their foot down and demanded the item to be ready the later on in the day is when the attendant reluctantly agreed. And yes, they're also ridiculously expensive. Perhaps if their attitude was better and work quality matched their attitude than MAYBE they could justify charging so much. Find another dry cleaner/alterations. read more

I WAS a customer at Lucy's Place until I had a few negative encounters with their Manager Giselle. The interactions with her were purely negative and the quality of service and attentiveness was horrible on all aspects. I dropped off a white long sleeve dress shirt for an upcoming wedding. It had two light makeup marks (~2 inches in length) on one shoulder and a small, tiny black spot on the opposite side. I went to pick it up on the date noted on the receipt. I go to pay, but as I am checking out, I noticed those same exact marks were still there. I feel as if the shirt was never even touched. I politely showed her my concerns, but without even looking up at the shirt her response was "Ill send it back" with an annoyed response and gesture. I said Okay thank you. She also said she would send me a text when the shirt would be ready again. I waited over two weeks with no Call, Text, email or voicemail. So, I called the store saying who I was and what item I was referring to. Before I could finish my explanation, she says very blatantly "the shirt is ready" and hangs up the phone. I go in the next day to pick up the shirt. Once again, those same exact marks are on the shirt. I showed her once more and she says "Excuse me" so I showed her again. And again, with the annoyed face and response she says, "I sent it back it can't come out". Meanwhile, she's barely looking at the shirt because I am holding it looking at it myself. So, I asked her "You all don't take out light stains?" Her response was "No, I sent it back". I had enough with her and her Poor attitude, terrible customer service and lack of quality control. I paid and left the store. For future reference, I would NOT recommend Lucy's Place to anyone. Side note.... when you walk in she doesn't greet you. But the other dark skin male she works with is very pleasant, He is very polite and patient. Til this day I'm still curious what the purpose of a dry cleaner is since they can't remove very light make up stains and a small black dot. read more

Lucy's Place saved my daughter's wedding! We ordered four dresses, none of which fit--no size would have made a difference. Xiomara not only remade one of the dresses in record time, but managed to give my daughter the dress she loved. The work was beautiful and their calm professionalism and reliability made a stressful time bearable. PS. It's not the first time they've done the impossible; I needed a dress taken in for a baby shower I was hosting--it was also done beautifully and on time in a busy time for them. BEWARE! I brought in a dress to have the sleeves removed. I wasn't asked to try on the dress or anything. They charged me $30 for the alteration. A friend told me, "make sure you try on the dress before you leave." So, when I went to pick up the dress, I tried it on and now the top of the dress was extremely loose, as a direct result of the sleeves being removed. They took the measurements and told me I would have to pay an additional $30 for this alteration. After arguing for 15 minutes, they offered me a discount of 50% off, because at this point, I would not be able to return the dress. I would not go back or recommend them moving forward. read more

Years ago this place used to be the only alteration spot I trusted. I don't know if it's because Lucy has retired and thy have hired new seamstresses but it has gone downhill. On more than one occasion they have not had my items ready on the agreed upon date. I keep coming back because I am a creature of habit and it is easier than finding somewhere new. However, after this time, I am going to take the time do so. I have a wedding to attend tomorrow and the minor alterations on my dress are not yet finished even though I was here at the exact time my ticket said. The prices have also skyrocketed. This is the WORST alteration place I have ever been too. The owner was extremely rude, nasty and unprofessional. We took a dress to be altered and they butchered it. When we went back and they did not want to take responsibility for what they did. Their answer was "if you go to the doctor and you don't get better does he give you your money back." I was insulted in the manner in which the owner handled the situation. She would not even give me a copy of my receipt showing that I paid for the alterations. I suggest you never go there!!! WARNING...do not take your garments here. Long story short I started going to this cleaners because it was convenient and they seemed to have many customers. I have designer clothes and my initial visits were good. However I dropped off a cashmere Alexander McQueen sweater on my last visit. They washed it and shrunk to a child size. I took it back and the young lady seemed so embarrassed and said she forward to owner. After one week I got a disturbing call from the owners daughter and she said they were going to go to go anything about the situation. I've been going to Lucy now for several years but for the past 2yrs I've seen a decline in customer service and attitude by the front desk person. I took a pair of pants just to get the hem done 5 days before and when I walked in they didn't even say hello, all they said NO ALTERATION WE ARE FULL, didn't even ask what I needed or when I needed it. Luckily I found a dry cleaner about 2 minutes away with great attitude and they said I will have it for you in 2 days. I taught to myself that maybe the work done will make up for the lack of a personality. I just picked up my ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA tuxedo. I had the hems done on the pants along with the jacket sleeves; both had to be lengthened by 1 1/2 inches. Yes, they were done on time with notice given via text. The job itself was the worst I've ever seen. So dissatisfied, Job so badly done that I didn't even go back to express my total displeasure. This pathetic excuse for a dry cleaners absolutely BOTCHED my engagement photo dress. I will be posting the before and afters shortly. Even worse, they botched it TWICE. After refusing to reimburse me the first time, the manager and owner essentially gave me no option other than to allow them to attempt to fix my dress. When that didn't work, the owners daughter personally came to my door to see the dress on me and proceeded to tell me that if I filed a claim against the dry cleaners, the dress (THAT I PAID FOR) automatically became their property. I guess they don't want anyone to see the disaster they created with my dress. Needless to say, my engagement photos were canceled and I am left with a dress I can never wear again.
