I'm highly upset by Magic Beauty Supply. Usually, I'm a consistent buyer. I used to drive from San Antonio's other side, avoiding other stores, simply to shop at that particular business. Black folks are frequently stereotyped by the store's owner or the male management. I have never taken something from someone without their consent, and I have no criminal history. Being followed around the store like a normal criminal made me feel so dehumanized. While shopping with my mother, I became aware that every time we moved to a new area of the store, someone was following us. I cracked a joke that it's "giving hurry up and buy." If you know you know All I was trying to do was calm my anxiety because of how I was feeling. The shop owners followed us around knowing that we needed assistance finding the things, but they never asked whether we needed assistance. This is terrible customer service. We made our purchases and departed. We discovered that we had still forgotten certain essentials. We return to the same store, which is one of the nearest ones to us, after about three hours. When we sought for assistance, the male management continued to be impolite and hardly wanted to help. A few more patrons entered, and he greeted one woman. There was also a teenage bunch who was a bit loud. He continued to stare at us out of his peripheral vision. "Are you going to watch your other customer like you watch us?" I ask after we've finished checking out. Rather than expressing regret for any hurt it might have caused. "I can watch you next time," he remarked. I learned everything I needed to know about him from that comment. You're implying that because of your other client, I'm a thief. As a government employee I would never put myself in the position to even be artwork for them over some $1 and $2 supplies. There was some back-and-forth conversation between the man and me. My mother was attempting to diffuse the heated exchange. He didn't have to treat my mother disrespectfully. He threw the products to the side and said, "He didn't want our money," even after she asked for a refund. If you can even treat the black people with dignity and respect, why run a business that serves them? read more

So I've been loosing my hair for almost a year and was looking for a wig to feel "normal". I put in wigs and this place popped up. I was very pleasantly surprised by this store. I do not remember the young woman's named who helped me, but she saw me wondering around lost and offered to help. She helped me to select a long dark brown lace wig, real human hair. I feel like me again in the wig. As I have never had a wig like this, I asked for help trimming the lace, this request was also meet with a smile and knowledge. I will most definitely be back for more wigs. I'm actually looking forward to it. I'm posting a pic of myself in the wig. I was being a bit lazy and did not put makeup on. I do however love the wig. First of all, there are actually TWO STORES adjacent to each other. There is the wig store. I didn't go inside that store but, from the outside it looked really really big for a wig only store. I went to the beauty store. The inside is not very attractive. There were boxes of products in the aisles and the racks were overflowing. However, the associates were polite and actually knew what they were talking about. Plus, the store had what I wanted: Freetress pre-loop yaki crochet hair and Janet Noir braiding hair with Futura. I've gone to 7 stores and this was the only one in San Antonio that had either product. So they have the newest trends. I'll be back! read more

There was absolutely NO customer service at this wig shop. We walked around for 15 minutes, in front of THREE employees who didn't even speak or attempt to assist us. This is a store that requires assistance to try on/look at wigs, and the employees just looked at us and walked away and did not even try to help or ask us if we wanted anything. 2 of them were right next to us and STILL did not speak. I would never give them my business, it's no wonder the store was empty. read more

Zero stars. Do not go here. On Friday, 12/17/21 around noon time, a man who worked here (manager) called my mom the b-word. In addition- the female attendant who worked there yesterday was incredibly rude as well. My mom has difficulty walking and the attendant gave my mom attitude when she asked for more than 1 wig to try on, then gave her attitude when she asked if she could try them on at the area in another part of the store with a chair and a mirror- as she was standing, and cannot stand for long, then same attendant (female) gave her attitude because that meant she (attendant) had to walk the wigs back to the sytrofoam displays. The manager come over (a male) and told my mom that my mom had to walk all the wigs back to the far counter, that the person who worked there couldn't. My mom can't walk that far, so she got up to leave and as she exited the man called her the b-word, under his breath but definitely within earshot. It is unconscionable that two people working in a store can be so unkind to another person in particular and elderly frail person. This will be formally reported. read more

Terrible customer service!!!!! Racism is alive and well!!!! If you are white, don't even think about crossing the threshold of this business. My friend is recovering from chemo and her hairdresser recommended this place. She thought that a wig might help her feel more feminine. We got no help. We explained that we had never tried on wigs and needed some guidance. Couldn't get more than a mumble. All the employees were on their phones and couldn't be bothered to look up. We left and went to Daily Beauty Supply on San Pedro. They couldn't have been nicer and more helpful!!!!! Will be back to Daily Beauty Supply again!! read more

There are 2 shops adjacent from one another with 1 that sell just wigs and the other is a beauty supply. The wig store has so many options at affordable prices unlike Black Fox. There's a sitting area and the assistants are eager to help you look your best. In the beauty supply store, the products are inexpensive and with more choices of ponytails and hair weave. It is more cramped there and I didn't like how the boxes were left on the floor blocking the products, otherwise I was overall satisfied and will be coming back. read more
