The Good, the Bad and the Ugly The good and great. I had the pleasure of meeting a nice receptionist, Samira. She walked me through the entire process and was patient with all of my questions from beginning to end. She was GREAT! To foreshadow the negative part of my experience, she was the only thing that saved me from esculating my concerns to a higher level. Her kindness, patience and overall professionalism was the highlight of my experience. This office is so lucky to have her. The good. Dr. Higgins was professional, knowledgable and thourogh with his examination and recommendations. What detracted from my review was that he was running late (as dr's normally do). We waited for a long time in a small room for the doctor. When he arrived and went through my history and saw my body, he changed the type of procedure. I wish this was done the day before because this was just moments before I was taken to the operating room. It would have been nice to know this ahead of the surgery so that I could process his recommendations. Here is the bad and honest review of my procedure. The concern started when I had to walk myself to the operating room behind the nurse. Who does that? The circumstances get worse so keep reading. Just like someone detailed in a previous review I was KICKED out of the clinic 20 minutes after surgery. PLEASE LISTEN AND READ THIS CLEARLY........... 20 MINUTES AFTER SURGERY. I know what you are thinking. the same thing i was thinking when I read the previous ladies review. "NO WAY" yes its 100% true. I was disoriented, shaking uncontrollably with pain and all I could say over and over was NO NO NO I can't do this. My wife was told over and over that it is just the anasteshia. I was strapped in the car, while in the parking lot the nurse said, "just empty the drains. . . he will be okay. . . don't give him pain meds for 3 hours. . . I gave him as much as I can." These were my post-op instructions, in the parking lot with no paperwork or information on what happened in surgery other than he did great. Thankfully, (no thanks to Magical) I was okay in about an hour. I should have been allowed to come out of the anesthesia properly with a nurse. The next part is even worse than being kicked out. The next day at the follow up appointment, I was on Mary's (the clinic manager) target list. Mary walked in past me with a horrible attitude and started barking orders about paying for a binding garment I didn't pay for. Well the day before, I brought all of the garments in a suit case and rolled into the waiting area. Even after asking the employees, the nurse and other people what to do with it or who to give it to, no one took it. Ultimately, they put "their Magical" garment on me and this made me Public Enemy #1 on Mary's target list. We explained the situation to her middle men because she refused to come and tell us herself even after several requests. She told them to take the "Magical garment off" and leave it if I wasn't going to pay. She made made my wife run to the car and get my "oridnary garment". When we came back with the same bag full of the same supplies, Mary said that the "Magical garment" was stained so we still have to pay. I am POSITIVE that Ms. Mary knows that the medical staff write on the garment with a marker, so this was just something to make us jump through hoops. We all know that all the clinics want to sell their garments to make money. This seemed like a backhanded way to get money from people choose to bring their own supplies. So BEWARE! The sad thing is, I would have paid for it, if I was approached in an appropriate way. As much as Samira and Dr. Higgins are assets to Magical, Ms. Mary the Manager is going to be its downfall if something doesn't change. Ms. Mary, the manager is the UGLY. She might possibly be the most unprofessional manager I have ever experienced. She caused a problem when if she had even a small amount of customer care or service, she could have gotten more than the cost of the "Magical garment." My experience with Magical Plastic Surgery was extremely disappointing. Based on what I experienced, I would not recommend this practice. On the day of my surgery, I arrived for my pre-op appointment at 7:30 a.m. and was left waiting in a room for a very long time. I didn't enter the operating room until around 10:00 a.m. My family became increasingly worried because I remained in surgery and recovery until approximately 7:00 p.m., and throughout that entire time they were unable to get any meaningful updates about my condition. The staff later claimed that I had texted my family after surgery, but that was impossible because my family had my phone the entire time. Instead of providing them with information about my condition, they showed them a photo of my body without my face visible, which did nothing to reassure them or confirm how I was doing. When I finally woke up around 7:00 p.m., I felt like I was rushed out the door and told to go home. My family was not given adequate instructions on how to care for me after surgery or informed about what had occurred during the procedure. A week later, I was hospitalized after experiencing significant blood loss and developing blood clots. While I understand that complications can occur with any surgery, I was very disappointed by the lack of communication and concern shown by the office before and after my procedure. I was also charged the day before surgery for additional liposuction to my back. During my consultation, Natalie told me that liposuction was included, but I later had to pay extra. Then, after surgery, the doctor informed me that the back liposuction could not be performed because the extended tummy tuck and breast lift had already made the procedure too lengthy. I have been requesting a refund for the service that was never performed for the past four weeks. Every time I call, I'm told the person handling refunds is unavailable or busy. I even went to the office in person. The receptionist went to the back to get the person I needed to speak with, asked whether she was expecting me, and after hearing "no," came back and told me she wasn't there and was suddenly on vacation. I left feeling like I was being avoided rather than helped. Overall, I felt like my concerns were ignored, communication with my family was inadequate, and my request for a refund for a service that was never provided has not been handled appropriately. My experience left me feeling that patient care and honesty were not priorities, and I cannot recommend this practice based on what I went through. read more

Very unprofessional! My surgery was scheduled for the 1st at 11am. I arrive and was asked to come back on 1. I come back and 1 and still i waited to get called to the back at 5. I did no pre op paper work, they didn't take any of my info down for emergency contact until i asked them about it. I'm a diabetic so by the time i was able to get surgery (6pm) i weak and starving. After surgery the nurse asked me questions that they should've asked BEFORE my surgery at pre op. They had no idea that i was a diabetic until the end, no idea of any of my allergies. Why??? Because they didn't do pre op!!!! I come in the next day for post op and again a horrible experience. I'm hurting soooo bad and still was made to wait 4hrs. They are horrible! I was stuck with a dr that i didn't book for. I just get getting told that he had an emergency. His emergency has obviously been going on for months. It's 1 dr doing everything right now. Because they are over working her they didn't do my lipo to the flanks that i paid for. I know sure are that they did NOT lipo my planks. This is the worse surgery center ever! Very unprofessional. I've never had such financially frustrating experience with a clinic in my life. I had a great consultation with Dr Higgins, but his accounting department staff has made had this all a terrible experience. Within minutes of my consultation they pushed me to make a $500 deposit, when I wasn't ready, but they industries that I couldn't schedule the surgery at a future time if I didn't pay the money right. Fishy, but I really liked Higgins so I decided to send it over. Next they advised me to get financing secured, so I applied to see what I was able to finance. Not only was I told that I was getting a 0% interest rate for 60 months through Alpheon, I was also repeatedly assured that NOTHING WAS BEING CHARGED to me yet and it wouldn't be charged until 2 weeks prior to the surgery. However approximately 2 weeks later I received a statement from Alpheon. It turns out that Magical Plastic Surgery immediately charged me for the full amount of the loan, without informing me, at 16% interest, on a $12,100 loan. That's a $388 payment! I was shocked, my heart dropped. I thought maybe it was a misunderstanding, so I called the clinic. Apparently the person I needed to talk to was Mary in accounting. So I was given a number to text and call her at. I left a voicemail and a text, early in the day with no response. The next day I talk to the clinic scheduler and was told they would for sure get back to me that day. Still no call and meanwhile I'm panicking about this incredibly large loan with a huge interest rate, checking my credit and seeing it drop over 20 points. Each day I was told I would get a call back from accounting and over a week went by until I finally did. Mary made the phone call and was anything but apologetic or kind. She was very matter of fact and told me I should have understood that they were going to charge me right away and claim she'd never said it would be 2 weeks before the surgery, even though the agreement I'd signed clearly said that no charges would be made until 14 days prior. Regardless I just wanted it reversed. She sent me over a cancellation form that we both signed. She said it could take up to 30 days, but it should be a lot sooner. Fast forward 2+weeks & I call Alpheon. They show no refund pending and said that once a refund is initiated, it takes between 24 and 48 hours. I call Mary again and she says that she sent the refund through, but can't give me any proof. She then tells me that she will NOT GIVE ME THE REFUND unless I take THIS REVIEW down, when I tell her that's not going to happen, she hangs up on me. Not only will I not be getting a surgery through this clinic, obviously, I am now making payments on interest I never agreed to and I lost a minimum of my $500. I'm told I may not even get the full $12,100 back at this point because the clinic is taking so long. This has been the most ridiculous, unprofessional experience and after reading the other reviews especially on Yelp, I can't believe I wanted to use this clinic to begin with. While Higgins may get good reviews, the office staff will ruin the entire experience. Hopefully one day they will reevaluate who is on their staff and do better, especially their accounting manager Mary, Mirelys, who is just as rude as she is terrible about responding. Additional they claim that a Dr. Deirdre Marshall works for them, guessing it's because she is a board certified Plastic Surgeon, while doctor Higgins is only certified in general surgery and vascular surgery, not plastic surgery. I contacted Dr Marshall and she has never worked for the clinic and has asked to be removed from their website, which they clearly continue to ignore. The red flags just continue to add up. Proceed with caution and look at their low rating on the Better Business Bureau. If the matters resolved I will update my review to reflect this. read more

My in office consultation went well, but it was down hill from there. After being scheduled for surgery, I was rescheduled twice. I was never contacted about pre-op as stated in their contract. I arrived to their office the date of my scheduled procedure only to learn the doctor had an emergency surgery. After requesting a refund, I was told I would only receive a portion of what I'd paid because I chose to cancel the procedure. I did not cancel because I was never notified, I wouldn't have my procedure & had I not shown up to the office I would have been left in the dark. They lack professionalism, communication about processes was non-existent, they attempted to gaslight me to make me think I did something wrong. I followed their written procedure, but they were negligent and will not own up to their mistake of failing to communicate and give notice when changes occurred. I was told it would be 10-15 days to receive a refund. It has been 45 days and no one will take my calls and I still don't have my money. Looks like I will need a lawyer to get what is owed to me. read more

I don't recommend Magical Plastic Surgery. Dr. Higgins is skilled and personable, but the clinic is terribly run and caused serious distress. This is a place is about quick in-and-out procedures, with little to no help for recovery afterward. After my tummy tuck and arm lift in March 2025, I came out of anesthesia crying for help and was ignored. When someone finally came, they dressed me with annoyance and wheeled me out before I was even awake. My friend almost threw up from how rough I looked. When I said I wasn't ready to leave, they told me, "You can go to an emergency room." I fainted several times in the first 24 hours. Despite that, 6 months later, I had to return for a revision on my arm (which was painful for 6 months because it hadn't healed properly and wasn't symmetrical) and for lipo on the upper abdomen fat (which I hadn't realized I would still need after a fluer di lis tummy tuck... I thought because of the vertical incision that upper ab fat would be taken care of. I waited for many months for the swelling to go down and realized it was fat. When I asked about it, I was told that it's common to need Lipo after. I was kind of shocked about having to come back for another procedure to take care of the upper abdomen fat). So for my 2nd time there to take care of these things, I flew across the country for my appointment to meet with my surgeon, Dr. Higgins in order to be examined and discuss in person my desired results. I was dismissed rudely and told Dr. Higgins wasn't there. They didn't tell me in advance that my appointment wasn't with him. They only wanted me there to make payment. The person to accept my payment was disrespectful, seemed put out and didn't even speak English. She couldn't answer any one of my questions. I had a hard time not being understandably really upset that I couldn't have my preop appointment. Still she wanted me to sign liability waivers and make full payment before I could even speak to the surgeon. I finally reached Dr. Higgins by phone to at least have a phone consult and get some of my questions answered with the agreement he would do the consult in the morning of surgery (not at all optimal being nervous going into surgery). After speaking with him, I made the payment, and without naming names, I got a call from another unprofessional in their office curtly letting me know that gave my surgery appointment "to someone else". They bumped my surgery day! Not cool after taking time off of work, flying there and having only so much time to have surgery and recuperate before flying back. I went ahead with the new date, because I was in pain from the 1st surgery and really wanted to get my arm addressed and start healing finally. And even though I was promised I would be attended to when coming out of anesthesia, again I was not. I woke up with no one there. Occasionally someone would run by. Please believe, nothing I've shared is misleading. My going back more than once was only about my needing revisions from the 1st surgeries. They were a little rough the 1st time there but I was hoping for a better experience if I gave them another chance. I didn't know how poorly I would be treated by their office or that my surgery date would be bumped. I can't speak to my results yet, as it is a long recovery. From what I can see, my arms still don't look symmetrical and I don't see a difference from lipo in some of the places I asked for. I don't want to leave any kind of bad review on Dr. Higgins. He tried to give me the best care even considering the office circumstances. He may be talented, but this clinic's operations are deeply unprofessional. I was not disrespectful. I was treated unprofessionally and without kindness. I was met with an argumentative and cold manner, as is even apparent in the response to my review. Patients deserve far better treatment, care, and communication, than what Magical Plastic Surgery provides. read more

Given the financial cost I've incurred and the emotional toll this experience has taken, I don't feel that an apology alone is sufficient. I am requesting monetary compensation to resolve this matter fairly. That would be the only resolution that feels appropriate considering the circumstances. I am updating my previous review since my experience ended up being traumatizing. I booked a mommy makeover in August 2025 for surgery in November. I was never given proper pre-op instructions. The day before surgery, I was told I couldn't have eyelash extensions, needed to remove my nails, and could not have nicotine in my system, none of which had been communicated beforehand. Because of this, my procedures had to be split into two separate surgeries. I had my extended tummy tuck in November and breast implants on January 27. I love my results, the surgeon is very talented. However, the lack of communication and care from the office was extremely disappointing and stressful. I was promised three complimentary lymphatic massages due to the inconvenience but was never contacted to schedule them. When I reached out, management was not helpful. Warning: Misleading Practices and Unprofessional Conduct I paid a $500 deposit after being shown before and after photos that were later proven to belong to a different doctor than the one who was actually going to perform the procedure. When I discovered the inconsistency, the representative began changing both the story and the pricing. When I politely tried to clarify the situation, the media person or manager blocked my Instagram account instead of addressing the issue. I also noticed that the messages were set to disappear after 24 hours, which is extremely sketchy for a medical business that should maintain transparency and proper documentation. This type of conduct violates the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA), which prohibits false or misleading advertising in medical services. I have screenshots, voice notes, and full proof of what happened. If my $500 deposit is not refunded immediately, I will be pressing charges and filing formal complaints with the Florida Attorney General's Office, the Department of Health, and other consumer protection agencies. People deserve honesty and professionalism, especially when it comes to medical procedures. I hope this review helps others be careful before making any payments. read more

I was not medically cleared for surgery and I reported fraud, they refunded my money as fraud and Natalie tried to get me to call the credit card company and tell them it was not fraud and she would personally refund the money, well I fell for it because I told her I wanted to max out my card because I was to my ears in debt. I felt guilty but my husband is too smart and would not let me do it. This was right after I was revived on the table with narcan and epi 3 times while having my gall bladder out. July 30. Basically I was only supposed to br charged the 500 deposit if I was not medically cleared, she charged the whole amount in June my surgery wasn't til 9/15. I had chronic anemia the whole time my dr would have never cleared me. She said too bad so o reported fraud. Tried to manipulate me into reversing it ( for their reputation) and give me the money. Then proceeded to charge the exact same amount on sept 29 and October 1. I am livid. I am getting an attorney as we speak. NATALIE WAS A THEIF!!! She is going to pay. Read their policy you're only supposed to charge a deposit not the full amount until 2 weeks before your surgery and she had the balls to send me a bill for another 1000 out of nowhere. Do not go to this place or should I say don't talk to a Natalie I was in the hospital from July 26- August 9 with pancreatitis from the surgery and had internal bleeding and getting iron transfusions for chronic anemia no way I would have been cleared for surgery and I have the texts the emails and the 1000 bill and a premature receipt for the full amount.
