The catering dropped the ball for people who did not eat meat or fish. My plate consisted of a dry salad (no dressing) and some sort of grain dish that I opted not to eat. Our server struggled with our table of eight, as we had to wait longer than expected for refills and updates on our meal offerings and timing. It wasn't a major issue, but it did take away from the overall experience. The tables and chairs need to be reupholstered or replaced, as the chairs we had damaged two of our table guest's dresses. Overall, it is a great venue.

The Foundry at Puritan Mill is located in Westside Atlanta, very close to the King Plow Arts Center. The site used to be home of the Puritan Chemical Company, who manufactured soaps and other cleaning products. The building has since been renovated and transformed into a clean and modern-looking facility. The floor space is huge. Sections were cordoned off with tall, elegant, white curtains. Along with nice decor and ambient lighting, the building still maintains an industrial look and feel with high, enormous ceilings with exposed ductwork and steel support beams, smooth-finished concrete floors, brick walls, and giant warehouse-style windows. There's also a patio outside, not to mention ample free parking. Puritan Mill provided more than enough space for our group of about 130-140. For our party, the venue was divided into three sections: (1) cocktails, h'orderves, (2) live music and dancing, (3) dinner. The first hour consisted of an open bar with standing tables and light h'orderves. When dinnertime rolled around, the curtains were pulled back and the beautiful, intimate dining area opened up. After dinner, dancing lasted late into the night. Overall, it was a very fun time and I had a blast. Food and drinks were provided by Bold American Catering (preferred caterer). Live entertainment was provided by Freeflight Productions of Kennesaw.

If you have driven much between Midtown and Buckhead, odds are that you've passed this castle-like house before. Parking is across Spring Street in a dedicated lot (underneath an on-ramp to the connector). You then just cross the street and are behind the home itself. We entered via the front door which faces Peachtree Street. Our tour lasted about an hour and focused on the architecture and history of the home. It was constructed early in the 20th century and has a lot of nice details (woodwork, light fixtures, wall murals, etc.). The tour does not include the upstairs (which is now office space for the historic trust that operates the site). It does include a brief visit to the basement, which is just an average semi-finished space. There is also a room with historical photos of the surrounding area - the shopping plaza that was built later and which surrounded the home on three sides at one point (only one 'arm' of derelict shops still exists). I recall when the Rhodes Theater was still in operation (showing older and/or cult films). I've driven by here countless times and it was nice to actually get an in-depth tour of the property. This is definitely worth doing once if you live in the area or have an interest in architecture.

We had 95 guests with our ceremony on the steps, cocktail and reception split inside and out so that the dance floor could be in the reception. It was a bit windy for the piping drape and urns so be certain you weight down well. Chrystal was a true joy, her experience with the venue gave her the knowledge to make great suggestions. While we did add florals and décor on the tables and mantels, we kept them in the feel of the home very lush and loose. We wanted people to explore the home the whole evening, not just for ceremony or dinner. We put the bar into the den so it was just off the dance floor (in the reception hall ) and would keep people flowing through the home even after dinner. She offered to work with us every step of the way and was always easy to reach when needed. I got my cake bar in the parlor with my 60" rounds plus sweetheart table and the rest of the guests were either seated in the library or on the porch. Dinner was buffet style, then we all returned for dancing and mingling. Several did mingle on the front and side porches, taking photos of the home, ceremony or photo backdrop. The day of is truly a whirlwind, the staff was on top of everything. I'm very hands on and they wouldn't allow me to do anything. = ) I too, returned from my honeymoon to find my security deposit check had been returned. It was even easy to pick up the cooler we realized had been left there about 2 weeks we later. I can't wait to see the rest of our photos as the peeks I've gotten have been amazing! I know I didn't get the chance to thank you all then, but I do wish to say THANKS! to each of you who helped make our day so very special!

It was my first time here, and while I don't enjoy getting emails about what's happening at Cobb Energy, I would go again if something catches my eye. Getting here was pretty easy, and there seemed to be a good bit of parking, which was straightforward and didn't feel too dangerous to leave your car sitting out. For those who prefer getting dropped off and picked up from the venue, there was a clear path to do so that wasn't crowded and busy like at bigger venue. They offer food and drinks that you'd see at other venues, and the prices are about what you expect. The attendants are on the older side, but I suppose that would be expected for a performing arts center. They direct foot traffic and try to get everyone to where they need to be. They will check your ticket upon entry (not just security at the door) to give instructions on where your seat will be. They are pretty strict after the performance though and will usher you out.

The venue is beautiful and the seating is really good we're almost everyone gets a good view of the stage. One star less for overpriced parking. Online it said it was $10 but on the event day they bumped it up to $20. I did not try the offerings at the concessions but they had the standard popcorns nachos and drinks available. They do restrict back sizes so do look that up on your specific shows instructions. Look forward to coming back for Opera performances and other shows.

Pullman Yards is a collection of large warehouses that hold exhibits. When I was there (June 2026) there were two exhibits - the Serial Killer tour and a space exhibit. There's also a Brick and Mortar restaurant and a few little kiosks that sell stuff. There also appears to be a tent where other pop up events could take place. There's not much additional seating other than a few wooden benches. The Parking. $7 per hour in the Pullman Yards lot. You have to pay using a QR code. The lot is conveniently located (gravel) and they really pack the cars in. Apparently, they will ticket if you let your time run out so be sure to set an alarm on your phone to extend time if necessary. The Serial Killer Exhibit. The exhibit is comprised of 40 small rooms that you flow through and are divided up into different categories (female killers, American serial killers, investigative techniques, serial killers that killed in pairs, etc.). Each little room has between 1 - 8 different exhibits that give you basic information on the serial killer (some are famous like Ted Bundy and Son of Sam, while others are more obscure killers in other countries). The infromation if quite basic and you could get as much info from a google search (if you knew what to search for). Some of the exhibits have actual artifacts from the crime scene (although there are very few of those-- most have juror certifications from the killers' trials, drawings or letters written by the killers, etc. instead. There are a lot of exhibits that are not actual artifacts but items similar to something -- for example, "Here's a saw similar to the one Jeffrey Dahmer used to dismember his victims" or just mannequins dressed to like the killer. As someone who is pretty well versed in the topic of serial killers with a MCJ in Criminology, I was disappointed to see that most of the information of investigative techiniques and the studies on the differences between male and female serial killers and typologies was grossly oversimplified. If you don't know much about typologies and psychological aspects of serial killing, you might enjoy it as it is an okay entree into the subject. I was definitely disappointed in how dark it was inside. I get that it makes it spooky, but because the posters are glossy and there's downlighting on them, the glare made them difficult to read. Some of the exhibits have QR codes that allow you to listen to the information, but you do need to bring headphones (which was not mentioned on the ticket at all) or you can hold your phone to your ear and try to listen to it. Also, many of the letters and such written by the killers that are under glass are too far away to be able to actually read which was disappointing. There is one room that is pretty disturbing which covers sexual sadism and could be too graphic for some viewers. Overall, however, there were not a lot of crime scene photos or other photos that haven't already been published if you did a deeper dive. There are bathrooms inside the exhibit, in room 6, but if you go past that, you have to wind back around for awhile to get back to them. Photography is allowed but no flash photography and you can't use the light on your phone to help you read any of the posters. If you want to read and take at least five minutes at every exhibit, it would take you about 2.5 - 3 hours to get through the entire thing. I read about half to 3/4 the exhibits (and did not play the game in the interactive room) and it took me about 2 hours to go through the entire thing. It can also get somewhat crowded so you might have to wait to get close enough to an exhibit to see it. Do not get there early. They do not let you in before the start time on your ticket. There are a few places to stop and sit in various rooms but not many. I do think if you're someone who is mobility impaired, they would probably be fine but you do have to do considerable walking given there are 40 distinct rooms and over 150 exhibits. At the end, there's a merch shop with shot glasses, coffee mugs, towels, books, etc. but it's pretty basic, overpriced stuff and it's mostly just the logo of the exhibit. Honestly, it's dark. Not just in the sense that all the exhibits are so poorly lit you can barely read them, but the content is as well. It's just a lot of information about torture and murder that in the span of two hours, it kind of becomes overload. At least it did for me and I'm someone who falls asleep to ID Discovery murder shows most nights. Some of it felt exploitational and salacious even though there's a wall at the end that shows pictures of some of the victims-- it kind of felt like an afterthought. I thought I'd like it more than I did, but I left feeling a little yucky and I didn't learn anything that I didn't already know (except for killers in other countries).

The ballroom was beautiful and elegant, and we had a great time. The Imperial Ballroom used to be the hotel's dining room in the 1920s (the hotel opened in 1924). It "features ornate blue and ivory hand-plastered ceilings, 10 columns, and a unique recessed wood floor." It looks really nice. I forget our event's guest count, but I think it was upwards of 150, 170. There was live music, both in the pre-function space during cocktail hour and on stage in the ballroom during dinner and dancing. There was also a two-sided bar. We had a seated dinner with the following: * First Course: Caesar Salad with garlic focaccia croutons, shaved Parmesan, and Caesar dressing * Main Course: Filet of Beef over herbed risotto with a peppercorn jus and Chicken Pancetta over sauteed greens with a lemon beurre blanc We also had cake. All of the food and drink were good. To drink, I had a couple of extra-dirty martinis (delicious) and also a bit of wine, with dinner. Service was fine. The bartender who made my martinis did an excellent job. The Biltmore Ballrooms is called "Ballrooms" (plural) because there are two ballrooms: the Imperial Ballroom and the Georgian Ballroom. The Ballrooms are conveniently located to many places in Midtown. We ended up walking one block north to the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel for after-party drinks. The Renaissance was the "official" hotel for our group. For parking, there's a garage on-site (next to Cypress Street Pint & Plate). We Ubered.
