We stayed here the weekend of the big craft show. IT is a great location as we could walk into the show and to have lunch and dinner and not fight the traffic. The house inside is amazing and the front is beautiful but the back left some things to be desired. The owner is in the process of selling and it needed a little sprucing up. The breakfast was amazing and the owner was very nice and knowledgeable. It will be interesting to see what the new owners do with the B&B.

Just spent a really lovely 2 nights here. Everything was terrific from beginning to end. The owner greeted us at the door and gave us a tour as well as provided information on mount Dora. The B and B is adorable, and our room was furnished with a very comfy queen sized bed. There is a mini fridge downstairs with soft drinks and we were able to keep our cooler there. Tea, coffee, water and chocolate chip cookies available all the time. But the breakfasts were phenomenal. Choice of 3 apps each day- mango pineapple sorbet, cold berry soup or yogurt granola parfait ( best granola of my life!). Entrees included a wonderful lemon blueberry Dutch baby, eggs Benedict, quiche and avocado toast with various toppings. Dutch baby was my fav! We will be back if in mount Dora again.

I have come several times to afternoon tea and bring multiple people because I absolutely LOVE it here! It's so lovely, quaint, and Delicious!!! Gwendolyn is wonderful and remembers me, which is impressive in itself. She makes everything fresh daily, including the scones that are to die for. Uhhh, I want one now. Anyway, they have an ample tea menu along with libations, and great food! There's no way you're leaving there hungry. Sooo incredibly delicious, great ambiance, and so worth it! Best tea room around, IMO!

We were greeted with grace, a welcome beverage and all the instructions we needed to make our stay lovely. We were there during a very unusual freeze and were provided with extra blankets to ensure our comfort. The room was charming with a large, well appointed bath and huge closet. The bed was very comfortable. The entire inn was spotless. Every small detail was carefully thought out, including the bedside step stool. Breakfast was delicious and all special needs of the guests we dined with were carefully addressed. We will definitely return when we can make use of the lovely lanai and pool. The Grandview is within easy walking distance of everything in Mt. Dora. Parking was easy which was an added perk on a festival weekend. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The place is owned by Inez and her granddaughter, Shelby, who helps run the place. Both are so gracious and accommodating. The Inn is charming, clean and conveniently located by downtown and Rennigers (which is why we were there - for the Antique show). It's affordable and they were nice enough to work with us on their two-night required stay rule. (For festivals they require a two-night stay but we only came for one and since they weren't sold out, they didn't charge us the extra night). We loved our stay and highly recommend this bed & breakfast to others..really good people and we're happy to support their business. We'll be back to Mt Dora for another festival and definitely staying here.

But I thought it rude that she didn't offer to show me the house after I asked to see the rooms that were empty also a very strong smell of Canabus Coming through the Ac in our upstairs room . Late at nite and again early in the am 5 /6 ish . Informed the owner at breakfast .. she said she burns sage .... was not safe it was pot for sure . I was telling he so she knew people could smell it I wasn't complaining - just thought she should know . Also we sleep with a fan and I forgot mine so I went to the hall closest to see if there was one , instead of bothering her . I found one in the hall bath a clip on one on a towel rack so I didn't think she would mind so we used it . Well when we came back later that nite there was a note on the hall bathroom door stating rather rudely that this was a private bath for another room .i did see the private sign on the door but I knew no one else was staying in the main house but us ... so the bottom line is we loved the place But I don't think the owner is as laid back as she looks or thinks she is lol

Spoke with Margie from the beginning, who is the owner and manager of Heron Cay. Super close to town, and they partner with a fantastic transportation service (run by Allan) that will cart you to town as soon as you call (although if you prefer walking it's definitely within walking distance- about 1/2 mile out). Super comfy and homey, I loved how we felt like we were staying with a relative when we were there. We were in the Captain's Loft, which was in a private walk up and on the second floor. Beautiful view of the lake, comfortable bed, and I just couldn't get enough of the decor. Also had a full sized coffee pot with great coffee for use in the room (I love and drink a lot of coffee so this definitely gets bonus points!) Margie serves a beautiful breakfast with delicious home-made bread, fresh cut fruit, eggs, sausage and amazing bread pudding. Coffee and juice as well. She also has super cute Borzoi dogs and kitties that I fell in love with. Don't go to Mount Dora without visiting Margie at Heron Cay Lakeside, really made this the best visit to Mount Dora ever! We will never go back and not stay here!

They suggested packing small suitcases which was smart because the steps are steep and narrow. The house is definitely Victorian style. Lots of wallpaper, pictures and decorations. Our room was very nice with loads of room. We had a small refrigerator and a coffee maker in our room. We had views of the pool and the lake. We were disappointed in the breakfast both days. Fresh fruit and homemade bread were excellent. Unfortunately pumpkin spice bread was served both days. The main breakfast which was an egg dish both days came out so much later and we wanted to get moving, so that was unanticipated. The outside area could be really nice, but it needs a lot of work. The front porch was nice to sit and enjoy being outside.

Warmly greeted us upon arrival and offered excellent suggestions. Tiffany was courteous, professional and engaging throughout our visit while serving both our table of eight and the customers sitting outside on the patio area while never loosing her smile. Very impressed with the ambiance of both the dining/bar area and inn lobby, a time capsule of a bygone era. Both one back to the 1890's and early 1920's. Highly recommend stopping by for either a drink or lunch/diner when visiting Mount Dora. Can't beat the lake views.

The form stated that we could not leave our 15 lb dog alone for extended periods. I asked if we could leave the room for meals and got a mean look and more eye rolls. Not a great start. If you don't want pets, don't say you can bring a pet and then charge a pet fee. The location is fabulous. That said, the exterior of each building is filthy. They have not been cleaned or painted for many years. The room has carpet from the 60's which was stained as well. Food in the dining room was average at best. The bartenders and servers were great. In the main dining room, we saw the "cockroach that devoured Cleveland!" In the same room, the split system air conditioner was leaking down the wall and onto the floor. Well, that is about as nice, and brief, as I can be. Good luck, folks!

Even if you have stayed there, the chances that things have fallen down hill are always possible. Hubs and I were looking for a place to stay for the LEESBURG BIKEFEST that would be CLEAN and COMFORTABLE and be able to accommodate our trailer, motorcycles and truck. Hotels? No coverage for your motorcycles and if you are like us, your bikes are an appendage and you want to protect them! Upon entering the property you are greeted by lovely grounds, a beautiful tree and lawns and an impressively maintained home. The owners came out to greet us with big smiles. DAVE and STEF were warm and inviting and made us feel as if we were visiting good friends or family. We were able to park our cycles under the carport and had plenty of parking for our trailer and truck. We reserved the smaller unit that consists of a beautifully set up bedroom and bath with a separate entrance and patio area. The room is equipped with a very clean, comfortable bed, ceiling fan, bistro table, microwave, fridge, dishes, (real) coffee maker, TV, wifi, utensils and so much more. The kindest details are noticeable in the room! Shampoo/Conditioner, Soft NICE towels, wall mounted magnified make-up MIRROR... Sooo much more to list! And THE ICING on the cake is, STEF makes an optional beautiful breakfast in the morning, set outside your door at 8am! She sweetly knocks on the interior (normally locked) door to let you know it's there...and it's almost too pretty to EAT! It's delish! They offer SOO much more. Dave is a Bass fishing guide and sets up fishing trips with a beautiful BASS boat(the property has a beautifully lit dock on the water!), they have a resident professional Magician who shows up at their optional "HAPPY HOUR" they hold in the evening at 5:30pm in a multipurpose room on the back of the property that is decorated like a cabin with bass trophy's mounted on the wood walls.... whimsical! Multiple guests attend and we were able to meet nice people that were staying for a SAILBOAT REGATTA. It's magically lit up in the evening and also has another unit that easily accommodates a family. IM NOT EASILY IMPRESSED BUT THIS STAY BLEW ME AWAY!! Yayyyyyyy! Oh we WILL book again!
