The Sunday before we were to be there on Friday an Indian guy called me and said they would not honor our reservations. The person at the motel had made a mistake. Tried jacking up the rates. We canceled. After seeing the place glad we did. I have slept in barns that was cleaner. What a ripoff

Title: Avoid at All Costs - 14 Days of Filth and No Housekeeping…read more Staying at the Best Western New Albany, MS was an absolute nightmare. I'd rather camp in a parking lot than endure that again. No housekeeping for 14 days. Despite putting the service sign out daily, I was left to buy my own toilet paper, take out my own trash, and even vacuum my own room after cockroaches - because apparently, DIY housekeeping is part of the Best Western experience here. After escalating my concerns to the manager after 8 days of kindly requesting a clean towel and taking out my own trash, he graciously let me switch rooms (thankfully no rust stains this time) and gave me a $50 discount for that night, which didn't even cover the mattress cover I had to buy to hide the mystery stains on the mattress in the first room or the slippers required to keep my feet and socks from turning black on the carpet. Oh, and don't forget the brown, sediment-filled water that came out of the tap. I had to get bottled water just to brush my teeth. This isn't mentioning the broken fridge, construction noise, broken equipment in the gym and business center. Those are minor inconveniences. It adds to a wholistic nightmare. The cockroaches were a delightful bonus. If you're thinking of staying here, reconsider or bring your own toilet paper and vacuum. I could also save you the trouble and will happily lend you a tent.

Staff was nice, building terrible. Finally got to the room: My fist thought was "I feel like I've seen this room on an episode of Cops" -Two hinges on door for easy breaking in to issue warrants. -Towel so rough I don't think I would use them to dry a car. - Shower was warm at best (should have used coffee pot to heat water). - Melted carpet in the shape of an iron on the floor. Window curtain didn't cover window fully and wasn't attached by all of its wall mounts. - Breakfast was a better selection at the dollar store. My last Days Inn was not a good experience either. Guess this is the way they are now. And I will never stay at Days Inn again.

She was incredibly rude to my husband and shook her head at him while he was filling out paperwork for us to stay the evening. He was less than thrilled. Our room was on the second floor, and the outside staircase was less than safe and sturdy. The first thing I noticed was the stain on the carpet, and the rust stains on the tub. The curtains didn't fully close, and any onlooker could easily see us, the ceiling had mold stains, and the basket with the coffee and soaps was soaked before we even touched anything... The air condition unit didn't work either. This place is not worth your time, or money.

So, if you want to stay in the newest hotel in the Memphis area and see what it is like, stay here. New features: it has a sliding door for the closet unlike I have never seen before. If you slide to the left, it closes off the bathroom. The shower is half open which you go in and stand behind a glass. There's no door. In the King Suite, there is a couch that is big enough for someone to make a bed out of. Big flat screen tv is attached to the wall. All the lights are new 2020 updated lighting. Anyway, I used my Choice Hotels App to stay here for free. It only costs me 8000 points. Considering this is a $90 night hotel, I got a good deal. I walk up to check in, tell them I have a reservation and give them my name. They say " you using your points? " and I say yes. Then, they ask the most annoying question which I hate hotels to asks me. " What brings you here". What a nosy question. Why can't they just give me my digital key so I can go. I enjoyed my hotel stay. The room was real nice. In fact, I think this is the best hotel I have stayed at. Everything is new and clean and updated in today's society. Yes, I highly recommend this hotel if you stay in the Memphis area. It's worth driving a little out of your way if you ask me.

This place has…read morenosedived so hard it's almost impressive -- if neglect, filth, and incompetence were an Olympic sport, they'd take the gold. Nothing works. The elevators have been broken for months, leaving only one in service. It's a safety hazard and a blatant ADA violation waiting to happen. Elderly guests, people with disabilities, and staff are forced to wait for ages or climb stairs while management pretends it's not their problem. Maybe an ADA investigation is the only thing that will finally get them to care. The casino floor? Dead. No payouts, no energy, no life. Machines are tighter than a vault and about as exciting as a morgue. The staff look miserable, clearly beaten down by leadership that gives zero concern for morale or guests. Then there's the food -- if you can call it that. The restaurant and steakhouse are an insult. My steak smelled so foul it was actually nauseating -- like rancid meat and dirty gym socks. It was disgusting, and management usually doesnt even blink. Typically No apology, no replacement, no basic decency. Just indifference. They took the steak off the bill for once but I didnt even eat any of it it was so disgusting. The entire property is dirty, outdated, and depressing. Stained carpets, broken fixtures, and an overwhelming feeling that no one in charge has lifted a finger in months. It's honestly unsafe and unsanitary. Their "1 Star Rewards" program couldn't be more fitting -- because that's exactly the experience you'll get: 1 star service, 1 star cleanliness, 1 star management, and 1 star safety. Goldstrike used to have pride and atmosphere. Now it's just greed, grime, and garbage. This place should be shut down until someone competent takes over.
