This place is an absolute gem in a little town. The exterior of the restaurant is just magical! Once inside it's artsy and rustic all at once. Stunning! We were seated right away. Our server was super friendly and attentive. I ordered a magnolia breeze cocktail. It was minty, and refreshingly delicious. We also ordered the soup of the day and the artichoke dip. Both were flavorful and delicious. We ordered the filet steak, salmon, and a Cajun redfish. All the dishes were perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. All the employees were super nice, especially the handsome young guy that would fill up our water anytime it was getting low. He was amazing! An absolute gem! read more

Cozy hidden gem. We went to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday. Highly recommend making reservations because it's a very quaint sized place, but with big personal service. They had live music which made the celebration so much better for the evening. I ordered the chicken piccata which was perfect!! Absolutely delicious! We ordered a death by chocolate mousse and the key lime pie (which has biscoff crust) to end the birthday celebration. It was a wonderful evening, and worth the drive outside of Houston. read more

We will not be back. Unfortunately, I cannot speak on the food, only on the service. The restaurant itself has a great ambience but the management lacks in communication skills and approach. We had a reservation, seated and waited over 15 minutes for a waitress to initiate service. The restaurant was not crowded. No excuse. When the waitress apologized, she did not like it that I agreed we had been waiting too long. Shortly after taking our drink order, a female, who I assumed was part of management, (she never introduced herself) appeared at our table. She started with an offensive tone, explaining that I had offended her waitress and made her cry. She was so disrespectful and rude. We told her we would pay for our wine, please cork it and we will leave. She offered to comp the wine but we refused. We didn't expect or ask for anything to be given to us. What we do expect is good prompt service, respect and consideration from an establishment that promotes fine dining on their website. read more

The service, food, and atmosphere here are superb. I had the Cajun redfish and the sauce was delectable. The only detractions that did not match the excellence of the restaurant was the live musician and some amped up dinner guests who were unable to use their "inside voices" and mistakenly thought they were in a honky tonk. We would have stayed longer, had dessert, and lingered in complete satisfaction were it not for that. Definitely would return just would ensure no live vocalist/guitarist present. Very good food. Waitstaff is well trained and attentive. Unfortunately for us, as we were looking for what would suffice for fine dining in Columbus, turned out to be more of a sports bar atmosphere. Two large flat screens over the bar flashing all the time, rock music on the sound system, the noise of glasses being washed in the bar sink and drinks being loudly shaken, kinda ruined the experience. This place actually hugs you with wit and humor and class all at the same time. Fun paintings along with white table cloths and brass fixtures. Elegant. But what's a nice setting if the food isn't also great? MS delivers. We had apps and entrees from a full but not too-large a menu. Simple recognizable dishes for extremely well. We had salads, southern shrimp, braised short rib etc. All prepared and plated with an elegance and attention that matches the decor. Service was delightful attentive and kind. The owner even stopped by our table twice and spoke to us. Magnolia Society is worth the very short trek off of I-10 for food that is not a classless chain burger or prepackaged truck stop fare. Such a gem in the middle of a small town. Love everything I've eaten here, the ambiance and charm.

Stopped by on a lark on the way back to San Antonio from Houston and encountered this recently opened gem. Proprietress told me it used to be an old hotel and that they had renovated it into a lovely restaurant. And lovely it is! The environment is classy and contemporary, and the staff makes sure you feel comfortable and well-served. The food was made with fresh ingredients and was delicious. My wife and I ordered a Margherita pizza, truffle fries, and a charcuterie board. We also ordered some wonderful house cocktails. The bartenders are still learning the art of mixology, so you may wait a bit to get your drink. Part of the hiccups of getting a business going. So, if you are on your way to Houston and passing by Columbus, give this place a try. You will not be disappointed! read more

My family ate here for brunch Sunday morning. The entire staff was pleasant and one of the owners introduced herself to our table while we were enjoying our entrees. We started out with the garlic fries and the spinach dip for appetizers. Both were delicious! Our entrees included the braised beef short rib, kale salad, pepperoni pizza, and the shrimp and grits. All were fantastic! The staff and our waitress were very attentive and the entire place looked clean and well-kept. We'll be back to enjoy this new gem in Columbus! read more

This restaurant brings fine dining to Columbus, TX. The ambiance is upscale, with seating indoors and outdoors, with private seating upstairs. They have a full bar, and wine selections from France, Italy, and USA. Check out their menu. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which had lots of gooey cheese on top. They brought corn chips for our gluten free diner. One of our party had pizza, the other had the short ribs, which were tender and delicious. For dessert, we tried the butterscotch custard, and loved it. They don't take reservations (at least not at the time of our visit), so you may have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. read more

Had a wonderful experience at the Magnolia Society. The food and service was outstanding. I would recommend the braised short ribs over mashed potatoes. It was tender and flavorful and the right portion amount. My wife had the chicken piccata over fettuccine with capers and she enjoyed the entree and would highly recommend.
