Mike first came to our house in…read moreMarch/April of 2023 to give us a quote, before he left from that visit, he had us sign what we thought was the estimate. As soon as he left, we had decided we were not going to use Mike because his quote was by far the most expensive of all of the ones we had received thus far. Turns out we had signed a contract to get our roof done with Green Built. We had no idea that this was what happened and were still getting quotes from other companies when Mike called and let us know that our house was on the schedule for the next day. We had not secured financing, picked out a shingle line, shingle color or anything else. We were completely blindsided. His crew arrived the next day to start work and at the end of the day, our roof still wasn't finished, which wasn't a problem, however, one of his employees showed up to try and sign the certificate of completion saying we were happy with job, before the job was even done. My husband and I proceeded to send him on his way and told him to actually wait until our roof was finished. We get home from work the next day to see the roof "finished" by their standards. There were nails and trash shoved down our gutter downspouts, nails everywhere in our yard and driveway, and most of our screens were ripped. We had asked them to be extra cautious about the nails because we have 2 kids and a golden retriever. They had damaged the spindles on our porch with the dump trailer, but those were fixed very quickly. In the summer of 2024, we realized that our entryway was getting really warm and didn't seem to be properly ventilating. It was at this point we realized they never installed the ridge vent on this portion of our roof. My husband called Mike to get this fixed, and it took over a month to finally get someone out to our house. This brings us to this year, March 15, 2026 and all the rain we got here in Michigan. One night during a rainstorm, we noticed there was a drip in our basement. Our roof is less than 3 years old and we have water coming in and damaging other parts of our house. We called Mike the day after to come and see what was going on. He has come up with every excuse under the sun as to how it cannot be our roof, deciding it was coming from our bathroom above where the water was found in our basement. This didn't sit right with my construction worker husband and when he got home from work on March 16, he decided to go up into our attic. At this point, we realized one of our roof trusses was completely saturated with water. He took pictures to send to Mike and we were told that it looked like fire damage. There has never been a fire in our house, we purchased it from the original owners so we would have known, it's water damage. As of today, April 23, 2026 our roof has still not been repaired, Mike is ghosting us via text messages, and we now have water damage to the drywall in our bathroom, making this an even bigger issue. We would NOT recommend Green Built Roofing or Mike in any capacity to anyone based on our experience. It is at the point, we are contacting other roofing companies to have the leak addressed on our supposed 50 year warranty roof or looking into filing a home insurance claim with the extent of the damage and potential for mold growth in our home.

He continues to add extra costs to the job, but did not finish the job as promised. I have several logs that are still not sealed even though the owner claims the job is done. I now have to hire someone else to complete the job that this company has not completed. Do not put your trust in this company, you will be disappointed.

Had them quote us for attic insulation. Guy said certain things needed to be done so we were like…read moreokay. He said one of our lights was a fire hazard, which frankly scared us, then said his guys could fix it (for a price!). Then he said the spray-on foam insulation in the basement would be practically free because we would get $850 in rebates from our gas and electric company. We did the smart thing and got another quote. THAT guy said most of those things didn't need to be done, our light was NOT a fire hazard and was completely up to code, and that the rebates from the utility companies would be $175. His quote was about a thousand less than VerWys's. When we called the VerWys guy again to see what he'd say, he backpedalled so hard he was going lightyears in reverse! Knocked off 2 grand from the initial quote, but we'd heard enough. Not gonna do business with a guy who tries to take us for a ride by pulling numbers out of his @$$.

I originally had WGMB out to add insulation to my attic to stop heat loss. Needless to say that…read moredid not stop the heatloss. I had them come out a second time and they added more insulation because I was still losing heat through my roof. The second time did not fix the issue and I've contacted them a third time and after a a prolonged period of time they sent somebody out to look at it. They "found" and area that had no insulation and claimed that is why I am still losing heat through my attic. The issue is that there service tech promised each time it was fixed. Now it is two weeks removed since they came out and I am still not closer to getting my issue resolved. I would have given a one star, but we used them for windows before and they did a good job
