Magpie cleaning gave the most horrific cleaning and customer service of my life. I should've cleaned my home myself. I hired them once, and they did a great job. I hired them again and explained that we are putting the condo up for sale!! and Mary (owner) told me the cleaners she was sending, she would recommend for her own home.... 2 cleaners came and cleaned for 4 hours.. They left garbage on the floor, the showers/tubs were not cleaned at all, and their was dirt and debris left on the counters. The oven and the refrigerator received NO attention at all!! When I reached out to Mary and let her know, with pictures included... She was staunch and said that they were new and felt overwhelmed *insert eye roll* and offered to have them come back for ANOTHER FOUR HOURS to clean the next day and expected us to pay TWICE for what wasn't done. Mary had the worst attitude ever. She was flying to NY and said she had the attitude because of her traveling. If I pay for a cleaner, I expect for my house to be CLEAN! Terrific. She got more done in three hours, all alone, than two people from a Name Brand Cleaning Company did in four hours. After three hours all the clutter was gone (not hidden, like another company did) and things were clean and organized. Friendly, helpful, full of ideas. I've been using Magpie cleaning for around 8 months I think, don't remember exactly, but I've had a great experience - I've compared to other cleaning services in the area, and the experiences my friends have had with cleaning services, and I think this is comparatively a very good value. I moved while using this company - at first Ahja was cleaning my place, then when I moved Dallas started cleaning my new place. Ahja was very professional and did a great job. I was originally unsure of Dallas when I met her since I didn't know her, but she has done an AMAZING job of cleaning my new place - even doing tasks that I didn't expect of her at all. Overall I don't really have to worry about the quality of work or anything, and the price is very reasonable, so I would definitely recommend. read more

This was the absolute most unproessional company I have ever met. After speaking to the owner who seemed sweet and ready to do a great job I hired her to clean my bosses house. I warned her ahead of time that he has a teenage boy who is doing virual learning (as all kids are) and I was assured it would not be a problem. On the day of the clean I got a text, not even a phone call saying that they left the house in the middle of the clean (without even putting beds back together or picking up after themselves mind you) because the cleaner was uncomfortable with the fact that there were home security cameras and the teenageer in the house. Not a phone call asking me to have the son leave the room or finishing the things they had started and then saying it was not going to work but literally a walk out mid clean because they were uncomfortable being on camera. You are a cleaning business and your cleaners are afraid of home security camera's and 13 year old boys? Unbelieveable. Then not even being given a professional phone call but a text and leaving the house in disaray. My boss came home to his sheets thrown in the middle of the floor garbage on the ground, everything a mess everywhere. Anyone who is afraid of home security camera's and children should not be cleaning houses. read more

Ive been using Magpie cleaning for about 10 months to a year and have never been more pleased with a cleaning service. First of all, when I had estimates from other companies in the Ann Arbor area I was shocked at how much these places charge to clean your house. Its ridiculous. I have a back injury and am not able to do much cleaning and had no idea what I was going to do. A friend recommended Magpie cleaning and I contacted them. Magpie cleaning charges me a very reasonable fee and is very flexible with my ever changing schedule. Katrina has been our maid and has done a wonderful job keeping our place spic and span. She has even emptied our dishwasher and washed dishes on several occasions which is NOT the norm with other cleaning companies. This company has horrible customer service they sent a person to my house claimed she was there for three and a half hours and all I could do is wonder what they did in that time they couldn't even put trash bags in the trash cans what a joke they try to get more money out of you by saying it will take more time I would find a different cleaning service this seems like a scam to me and upon reading other reviews of this company it seems like no matter what happens it's your fault they use upsale tactics to charge you more for the job they cannot do read more

"Mary, thanks for arranging for the cleaning. A few pieces of feedback: - Dallas smelled very strongly of smoke. I don't mind smoking, but seeing that when I originally reached out to you that I had a newborn, I would have appreciated being asked if it was okay that the person smoked. There is now the faint but distinct smell of smoke throughout our house. - The cleaning was good but superficial. It only took two hours. For instance, I cleared off surfaces expecting them to be sprayed, such as my desk, but many weren't. I wish you the best in your business and hope you consider this feedback. One word: terrible. Cleanings were "meh" at best. The final straw was catching them in the act of not being on location for three hours like they were supposed to be. The owner claimed ignorance, and wasn't very willing to remedy the situation in a satisfactory way. Plenty of better options. read more

I'm extremely pleased with my service from MagPie cleaning. Mary is wonderful to work with in setting up all our appointments and the cleaning folks have done a terrific job. The price is also right, especially compared to other nearby chains. My beds are made, floors are spotless, and my kitchen is shining when I come home after a long day at work... Priceless! Brandy and Sydney came to my house today to help me clean out in preparation for a move and I'm so impressed with their work. My house looks 100% better and it smells wonderful.
