Had my car towed. Wanted it parked in front of my home on street parking. The driver 336 - BillyD left the back end of the car sticking out into the street. I asked him if he could pull the backend of the car closer to the curb so that it's not sticking out into the street. He told me no and proceeded on his way. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. If I could give this company zero stars, I would! I would never recommend Mag's Towing, especially driver 336-Duilio C. He was aggressive, disrespectful, and made me feel so unsafe and afraid that I had to ask him to leave. As a young woman stranded in the cold, I needed help, but his unprofessional and threatening behavior made the situation worse. When I called the company to report this, the owner was no better. Instead of addressing my concerns, he dismissed me entirely, claimed the driver told him a different story, and offered no assistance. He made me feel completely unheard and unsupported. This company clearly lacks accountability and respect for their customers. Save yourself the stress--avoid Mag's Towing at all costs! read more

I am extremely pleased with the service that I received today, June 22, 2024, for a AAA tow call from Mag's Towing in Brockton, MA. I called AAA on a SATURDAY AFTERNOON to explain that the ignition had failed in my pickup truck and that I was next in line to enter an intersection and blocking traffic. They said that they would prioritize my call, and I thanked them very much. They said that it could take up to 45 minutes because they were very busy, but they would explain the situation to the towing company. Even though I had my emergency flashers on, the hood up, and was working under the hood to try to get the ignition to fire, people were behind me laying (not beeping) on their horns, arms flailing inside their cars, and flipping me off as they went around me. And then a dude in a tiny wrecker pulls up next to me as I'm working on the engine and asks me if I need a tow. "Are you AAA?" "No." "You can't help me then, and your truck is too small; it could never pick this up. And I've got AAA on the way anyway." "You're in the middle of an intersection, man." "No kidding? You actually noticed that, huh, Einstein? You ARE brilliant!" "OK, good luck waiting three hours." "Whatever." About five minutes after that, I get the engine running and get out of the intersection and on my way to Home Depot. I stop at a gas station about three minutes away to get gas and make sure that it's going to keep running. Nope. Shut down in the bay. As soon as I get out of the cab, I get a call from the driver, Colin, from Mac's Towing saying that he's at the intersection, but doesn't see my truck. That's about only 25 minutes from when I first placed the call, not the 45 minutes predicted by AAA. Colin shows up about five minutes later and backs the flatbed up to my baby, a beautifully restored 1979 4WD Ford pickup truck. Very nice, clean cut young man who knew what he was doing. He had the truck attached to the winch, up on the flatbed, and tire straps attached in about ten minutes. Very careful and very thorough. We shook hands and I was extremely pleased. I'm going to give the owner or his manager a call as soon as possible to basically repeat what I've reported here. I feel that it makes a little more impact when a customer talks to you in addition to reading a good review. When I looked up the phone number for the company, I was surprised at the number of bad reviews that there were. Frankly, some of them sounded a little whiny to me and perhaps rather embellished in a bad way. I wasn't there for what they experienced, so I don't know; just my opinion. Others sounded like they could have been more the fault of AAA dispatching than the towing company. I've been a AAA Platinum member for over 30 years and the majority of my experiences have been good, but a few have been bad, and some bad enough for me to write flaming letters or emails to AAA Customer Service, complete with names, exact statements, attitudes, times of calls, and everything possible to back up my complaint. Some of these have been complaints about my experience with AAA and others have been complaints above the towing company. Back before car locks could first be opened remotely by the manufacturer and later by a phone app, I was at the mercy of whoever AAA sent out to unlock my car when I locked my keys inside. I have driven Cadillacs for over thirty years, and I have had guys who must have been car thieves (just kidding) before they operated a tow truck because they could get into my car in literally three minutes with no damage. I've been amazed at the ingenuity of some of the devices that were used, often created by the drivers themselves! Other times, I have had absolute idiots with hack tools that were supposed to have a plastic coating to prevent damage to paint as they were inserted in the door but were bare metal from overuse. These guys gouged up huge amounts of paint on the sides of the door, as well as the interior of the car. Others ripped up the weatherstripping in addition to damaging the paint. One guy, who I later found out was a pizza delivery guy who had just been hired, was hacking away for a full hour without success before I told him to get lost. He and his company got one of my most flaming letters sent to AAA Customer Service and a review of the same level posted to their website. Photos included. As any person can tell based on this lengthy review of outstanding service, I try not to leave out any details so that my letter or review will be airtight and completely believable, whether it be positive or negative. I'll close with the simple statement that, in this particular instance, I was beyond pleased with AAA and beyond pleased with Mag's Towing. I had the same experience as Charlotte C. of Swansea. The young man had been to my home once before and told me I needed a new battery, which I unsuspectingly bought, because he "happened" to have one in the truck. The same man came today and gave me the same story, even saying he'd have to check in the back of his truck to see if he had one. When I declined he told me I could have a discount, and when I said no again, he presently made another offer to "save" me even more money. He was persistent, but I remembered him from the previous occasion. I assume that the owner of the shop encourages this sort of behavior. Jim was outstanding. My shifter broke in an F350 and Jim knew the exact equipment that was needed to tow it in order not to create additional damage. The truck was unable to get into neutral, so it could not be placed on the flatbed. read more

Car broke down at 3:55pm. Called AAA and they said someone will be out at 5:15pm. First they got the address wrong then got my phone number wrong. We called back and fixed the issue. Then told us they would be out in an hour. At 7:55 no one has come yet ... sent a text message stating pick up at the wrong address we previously corrected. We called them back and they said we were in "queue" and would receive a text when tow on the way. At 8:55 we didn't get a text. Called them and AAA stated to leave the keys under the front seat and we gave them the license plate. At 12Am we get a text saying they are on the way AGAIN using the WRONG address. Drove by the car the next day ... still there. Finally tow service picked it up at 3pm. Worst tow service that is affiliated with AAA. If I could give -100 stars I would. read more

I ended up taking a real liking to the owner, nice honest handsome man. A life saver in multiple ways and God's blessing to me this month !

This man is dishonest. He told me I needed a new battery when I didn't. I will never use Mag's again. I just read Shara's review, and he did the same thing to me. --- signed my signature to a disclaimer he never showed me, etc. Triple A stands by this man. Terrible!! I called AAA for a tow and they sent Mag's. Had to call 4 times. Two trucks showed up and just left. Got the job was complete message. It was not, called and and this truck ended up damaging the car trying to get it on the truck, the 4th (THE NEXT DAY) finally brought it home. It was an unbelievably frustrating experience. Started calling 3:30pm on a Saturday, they finally got it on Sunday afternoon. Again after 4 trucks. The last truck had no issues. No idea why this was such a difficult process. read more

The tech guy was super nice and friendly. However, he misled me to believe that my battery had failed the tests and it needed to be replaced and it didn't. He told me the battery was too old. So I purchased a new battery from him only to find out several hours later through an email from him which contained the battery test results. My battery had in fact passed all of the tests run. I also noticed he had signed all of the documentation on my behalf without my consent or knowledge. There was also a battery did not fail test waiver and disclaimer that I had no idea about which he also signed. I was never given the opportunity to make a choice. I feel as if I've been taken advantage of because I am not only a woman but also because I'm not knowledgeable about cars. Up until this point I've never had any issues with my battery. I was also overcharged for the battery according to the receipt that I received. I never intended to buy a new battery. I was never informed that my old battery was still functional. Awful service! I called AAA and they got this service to come get my car tow the tow operator sat in front of my house for 15 min until I came outside. Once I came outside he yelled at me and said I needed to clean the snow off my car. I understand that and would've done that,but the way this moron spoke to me I told him I'd call a different tow as he obviously didn't know any manners or how to speak to women. read more

Called through Triple A, charged me for a battery I didn't need after giving me an inappropriate speech about how God will help me in my time of need and then called for a tow. The guy who came with the tow is the only reason why I gave it a two instead of 1 because he thought it was fishy the guy changed my battery even though it wasn't the issue. Called Triple A showed them my receipt from my mechanic that it was a completely different issue and nothing was wrong with my battery and got my money back because Mags refused to answer their calls and give their report on my battery, I'm guessing it's because there wasn't anything wrong with it. read more

This company no showed and then texted me around midnight that they were on the way. I had numerous times starting at 5:48 the day before requested service & multiple times had been lied to, promised calls back & promised multiple repair arrival times that nvr happened via Triple A. Multiple timesxI indicated I had just had major surgery & needed to get to an early a.m. medical appmt. I got out of bed in pain & stood out in the freezing cold waiting. When the tow truck pulled into my complex around midnight, to my horror they did not even look for my unit but turned around & left the complex with me waving frantically by my car. I called Triple A and asked them to call & have them turn around. After 2o more mins in the cold I was told the driver did he had been at my door 15 mins & I no showed- an obvious bold faced lie & I told them I had the texts to prove it. They nvr came back & I got another text after 1 a.m that they were on their way but again nvr arrived. I called the tow company countless times & they nvr returned any of my calls. I even went to the address listed for their location. A day later, no one addressed this situation or called back. Absolutely appalling behavior to do to anyone let alone someone who had just undergone major surgery who should have been in bed not repeatedly standing in the cold in the middle of the night and lied to. AAA sent this company out to pull my boyfriends work truck out of mud. Tow operator used chains instead of winching it, pulled it out with such force that it went sailing across the street and hit a tree. Smashed up the back of the van and the operator told him "just say someone hit you" and drove off. It's so unbelievable it's almost funny. read more

Slowest response time possible to a AAA call. I called at at 6:37 in the morning on a Friday morning. AAA not exactly the best themselves said they will be their by 7:20. Not exactly fast but I figured these guys would be faster at 7:11 I get a call they will be their by 7:40. This is on an early morning tire change call and I need to get to work and these take over an hour to respond. Horrible service response AAA should drop them. If ever there were a time when ZERO stars should be doled out, it's for this company. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and (in regards to their AAA affiliation) straight-up liars! I was left waiting over 7 HOURS over a 4 DAY period for them to simply jumpstart my car. They lied about their location, about their arrival time, and about completing the service (which they never did). The reason AAA has such terrible reviews is because of awful companies like this. I will be canceling my AAA membership because of them and will go with any other roadside assistance company, as long as they never use Mag's Towing. AAA sent Mag's Towing to my home to deal with my car's dead battery. The technician arrived within about half an hour and could not have been more professional and courteous. He first tested the battery and then recommended a new replacement and installed it (my battery was 3 years old.) Seldom have I had the pleasure of the courtesy and genuine concern that this young man showed. I recommend this company very highly and am thankful that AAA uses such a reputable contractor to serve their clients. Thank you! read more
