I had to let MaidPro go today. The customer service has just gotten worse as the years have gone on. In particular Mildred Nieves. They clearly do not care about keeping their long term clients. The cleanings were only ever adequate, but I kept them on as until recently they seemed eager to please and the cleaners always worked hard. Overpriced. They charge $40/hr and consistently charge for 2 hours when the cleaner was there for 2. The cleaning was very superficial and poor quality. It's incredible how low the bar for clean was. And they say that if they miss something just call and they'll send someone back to do it. But try calling and you get attacked by the same people who were so kind and friendly when they were selling you the service. Suddenly they turn nasty and aggressive!! Terrible experience! read more

Per my phone conversation with Mildred Nieves, MaidPro was to refund the difference for the oven cleaning that was paid for but never performed. At the time of this review the cost has still not been refunded. Additionally, there is an extra $100 charge. Per the attached Terms of Service a cancellation must be done in writing or by email, which had not been done at the time of the charge, so MaidPro violated their own Terms of Service. At this point I am requesting a refund in full for the $340. If they do not do so I will have more negative reviews online mentioning your Mildred specifically. There will be a report to the Better Business Bureau. The oven has no self-cleaning feature, so I have also proven that Mildred lied to me about the reason for the oven not being cleaned. read more

I hired West Roxbury MaidPro which is now in Dedham to perform a monthly cleaning of my house. I have previously used them bi-weekly but in an effort to save some money my wife and I cut down to once per month and opted to clean in between visits. They goal of bringing MaidPro in was to have them "clean slate" the house each month and give it a good clean. Our house consists of: 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, kitchen, living room dining room and a family room. The areas I wanted "focus" was the bathrooms, floors, dusting and kitchen area and kitchen floor, otherwise for other areas perform the normal tasks. First off, I'd like to say that Brian Thompson, the owner, is very professional, up-front and honest. He will give you a quote for what you want and will take feedback and learn from it. Hopefully he uses this review for just that! My professionalism score DOES NOT reflect him, but rather the cleaners who come to your house. My problem with MaidPro is four things: 1. They clean your house but come with limited supplies, sub-par vaccums and no real floor cleaning tools and products. 2. The cleaners are extremely nice but a majority of them cannot speak English and frankly that is not professional. 3. The price quoted did not fit the job, so in the end, I resulted as an unhappy customer. 4. Their version of cleaning your tile floor is to wet a towel, put it on a swiffer-like thing and "wipe" your floor. Essentially pushes the dirt around and does not clean the floor. My last clean dated 1/13/201 had the following issues: 1. Master Bathroom: The sink was still dirty. In the shower, while very clean, the various bottle were not moved and there was soap scum under them. Finally the blinds still had dust on them. 2. Kitchen: Counters were clean but to date not the cleanest 3. Overall: Base board are not fully dusted, windows sills were not wiped down and the floors may have been wiped down but still were very dirty. 4. Cleaner was extremely nice but did not speak ANY English. Feedback on Cleanings after being a customer for just over a year: 1. My wife and I have pretty much noticed that the cleanings to date are merely "surface cleanings" and not really "deep cleanings". Examples: Floors are wiped down but not fully clean. Rug in living room still dirty even after clean. Cabinets are not fully dusted and cleaned. if you want a "deep" clean you need to ask for it. 2. The areas that are cleanest are the bathrooms, kitchen area (not the tile floors) and wooded floors. 3. Best cleanings have been when done with two persons. 4. Sheet changing is awesome! In the end, I would love to continue to work with MaidPro but have begun to look at other cleaning services in the area as a sanity check. The only reason why I will stay with MaidPro is because Brain is honest and willing to take feedback. Again, Brian Thompson is a great owner and this is constructive feedback and hopefully he uses this to improve his business and quoting process. My advice to him is to better define he service offerings because my dissatisfaction is merely a result of lack of definition around the word "clean". read more

I will start by saying I should have read reviews!!!! And I feel really guilty writing this because the guy just left my house. But I just babysat him for 4 hours and watched him ignore and forget to do specific things that I said to him when he walked in and also voiced to the person who booked my appointment! So I am hoping to spare someone else with this review. I will admit I was in a pinch when I hired them. It was very last minute. I am 6 months pregnant and moving into a new home in 2 days which is COMPLETELY empty and I simply do not have the energy to pack, move, unpack and clean. So for the first time ever I am turning to hired help. The previous owners had little ones so it was crucial to me that everything get wiped down because there are little finger prints everywhere. I hate leaving bad reviews, I always would rather give someone a chance (hence me nicely trying to guide him throughout his work here) but come on! What I requested: 2 cleaners to arrive between 9-10am. Clean the floors, baseboards, windows (they tilt in, so very easy to windex), lower portions of walls & doors where there are finger prints, and then the usual - kitchen, bathrooms. The house is not big, 1600 sq ft. And it is EMPTY!!! I was 100% willing and ready to pay $300-400 to know that my new home would be sparkly clean the moment we moved in. What I got: 1 cleaner, 50 minutes late to the job. The main office said he was "in traffic" ... he was coming from dedham to canton. I JUST made the same drive here to let him in. There was zero traffic! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!! - finger prints are still all over the doors, the side of the fridge & the upstairs walls. - pencil scribbles on the kids walls - Windows were not windexed and I asked twice on the phone and 3 times while he was here to please not forget the windows! - Sunroom floor is a disaster and he asked me if he should clean it, I said yes, he vacuumed it and walked out. I said - are you done in there? Should you wash it? He said he is done. Ok great, I like mud stains everywhere, so that's perfect. - He didn't wash the kitchen counter tops. - He didn't even windexed my glass doors. - I pointed out to him that whatever he is spraying on the hardwood floors for washing is actually leaving STAINS. He tried to wash it again and it looks permanent. Excellent! He moved PAINFULLY SLOW. He received easily 40-45 calls from his girlfriend I think (from the sounds of it). (I would not care about the calls at all if he was diligently cleaning the things I asked) Literally his phone rang every 5 minutes. If I wasn't hugely pregnant and exhausted I would have loved to do this job myself. I could cry thinking that I have to spend my hard earned money to pay this lazy bum when I could be putting this money towards the crib we still need to buy!!! On Tuesday my wife and I were looking for a maid service that could come before Thursday at 11:00am. We wanted a through cleaning, including the windows. MaidPro said they could do all that (including the windows) and were available Thursday morning. Great! Later that day, when my wife called to confirm, they had the wrong date and time. It happens, right? My wife gave them the correct time. Thursday morning the cleaner's arrived about 20 minutes late, but did a good job. They finished a little past 11:00, within the acceptable comfort zone. Fantastic--the house would be spick and span for our event on Sunday. I thanked the cleaner's for their speediness and tipped them generously. Later, when everyone was gone, I was walking around and noticed a huge gash on the hardwood floor in my living room! It was next to one of the couches--which we had flush with, but was now about three inches away from, the wall. I assume they had moved the couch to clean behind it, but it's heavy and they must have dragged it and etched a two-foot line into our floor! Now, shit happens. I would have been upset, but at the very least a professional service should have told me about what happened. But not MaidPro. The cleaner's ignored it, took my money and left. When my wife called MaidPro, the were belligerent, basically said, "too bad" about your floor and open house but that they had a long process that they needed to go through to file an insurance claim. They also said the cleaner needed to move the couch to get to the window (there is no window there!), and told us that, anyway, they don't do windows and that by asking we were requesting something extra. Now, 1) we specified that we needed the windows cleaned when we hired them and they said nothing about it not being included, and 2) that in no way justifies damaging someone's property and then not being willing to fix it! This is a reliable and professional company, and Brian stands by the work of his group. They are not perfect, and some reviewers have a very subjective opinion, but I have found Maid Pro to be a good value overall for the money, and they have no problem coming back for free to fix things left undone. Dangerous & irresponsible! nearly burned our house down-- The Maid pro cleaners were not the cleaners we requested despite multiple email confirmations and reassurances-- they assigned & let in to our house today cleaners that we had never met before. this was the result! We discovered when we came home and were preparing to go to bed the lamp and our sound machine melted together. The cleaners apparently put one on top of the other while they were cleaning and left the light on with the sound machine on top of it. they seemed to have then forgotten to remove it before leaving! see pictures attached!!! We have been with MaidPro Dedham/West Roxbury for over a year now and have been extremely happy with our service. They are professional and courteous and the cleaning is great. Dust bunnies left, floors not cleaned thoroughly, the kitchen sink and the bathtub were not scrubbed; only wiped. I was really disappointed... This is one of the poorest customer service experiences I've ever had. After a few weeks of already using MaidPro as our cleaning service, they missed one of our scheduled appointments. I received no notice or phone call that they were unable to keep their appointment, so I had to call THEM the day after asking what had happened. Brian, the owner, told me they were unable to get into the apartment for some reason, even though the locks had not changed and they had the key in their possession. He told me the earliest they could come back was 4 days later. I was upset, but understood that mistakes happen and moved on. Today, the day they were supposed to come as their "makeup" service, Brian called to tell me he FORGOT to tell the cleaners to come, and that they would now come TOMORROW (now 5 days after the scheduled appointment). After telling him that it would be my last service with his company, he told me that they would no longer come at all and that I was clearly having a "bad day". He refused to return my key to me and wrote me the most unprofessional emails that I've ever seen come from a business owner. This company is clearly unorganized, unprofessional and disrespectful to their clients. At what I was paying per service, I absolutely expected more. I would NOT recommend them to ANYONE. read more

Experience was good until they actually showed up and started cleaning. Onboarding new customer was great. But I arrived 15 mins or so after they did, let them work, and by the end had to keep looking around pointing out things they missed. Hair on the bathroom sink, hair in the tub, spots on the walls, etc. They left, and I found they did not clean the inside of the fridge nor the inside (or even the surface!) of cabinets - both of which they charged me extra for. The owner, who stopped by to check on things during the first cleaning which was good, called them and had one of them come back to do the fridge and cabinets. He cleaned the surface of the cabinets but not the inside. Still. I called back and complained and he offered to send someone back the next day but because I was moving in that day it wasn't convenient for me and I said I'd touch base in a few days. I did, and he cited their 24 hour guarantee and said there was nothing he could do at this point but would give me a discount on the next cleaning if I wanted to move forward. Needless to say, I did not. He said they probably needed longer to do the job and they only booked 4 man hours, two people, two hours, which I don't believe they were even here for, and even if they needed longer, who's fault is that? I told you the job, 850 sq ft, not huge, and you estimated. If you need longer, stay longer. Then he said it sometimes takes a few cleanings to get the place looking clean the way you want it. Yeah, not following that logic. I should pay you to keep coming back and trying again since you didn't do a good job the first time and see if you get it right the next? The more i walked around the new place the more I found that they missed. Things that were checked off on their checklist that they left were clearly not done. I think the only way to get them to do a good job is to follow them around your place and insist they clean everything you want them to. I shouldn't have to do that, nor should I have to find crumbs and hair in quite a few places that I paid for to have cleaned - and paid extra! Keep in mind this was an empty condo I had not moved into, and so shouldn't have been hard to clean in the first place. No furniture, no stuff, nothing in there! They didn't even vacuum, they just used a spray mop. I do not recommend them at all. read more

If you want to be treated like crap and act like you are doing *them* a favor by shelling out money to hire them to pay for a service, go for it!!!!! We've been using them for about a year and a half. To be fair, they were really good for the first year or so. There were a few mix ups with not showing up, but if I'd call, they would be responsive. In the last 6 months, I noticed an increase in lack of attention to detail. However, there were more pressing things in my life, so I didn't really follow up. The straw that broke the camel's back was this past week when I was waiting for them to show up, and they never did. I called the office, and Brian Thomspon stated that he did not have me down for that day. I had a personal email confirmation from him, so I forwarded that to him. He just said it must have been a misunderstanding---no apology, and that in the future *I* should be the one to make sure I get a confirmation call. Not acceptable----I am not Maidpro's secretary, so I wrote and told him that I had a personal confirmatory email from him, so putting the onus on me as a customer to ensure that I get a call the day before was asking a bit much. He replied stating that it was an automatic email, and that mistakes do happen. Even more unacceptable! So I wrote to him and told him that this was a *personal* email from him, not an automatic one (and to please read the email carefully), and that while mistakes do happen, apologies should as well---I then asked to cancel my service. I get an email back with an apology *FINALLY*! And along with that, Brian Thompson told me that he is sorry that I can not accept mistakes. The kicker, I got a voice mail from Brian Thompson also---and a direct quote, "I cater to you every month, and you can't accept one mistake? I'm sorry you can't accept mistakes. I don't understand what you want--if it's just a free cleaning that you are after. Your service is cancelled. And I hope that one day, you make a mistake and have somebody cancel on you so you know how it feels. Have a good day!" AYFKM???? Clearly this guy must have marital issues or something---that is not how you talk to a customer of 18 months. Especially since it took him at least 3 cycles of back and forth over email to apologize for the mistake. Like I said, if you want to be made to feel that you are doing them a favor, sign on as a customer! read more

The owner is very accessible and easy to contact with any issues or special requests. The cost of the cleaning is also very competitive, in my opinion. Brian and his staff are so professional and helpful. They will do whatever they can to accommodate your needs. The ladies that come to clean are professional and do a good job. Tried Maid Pro and they were terrible. Brian is a good salesman but is selling a sub-par product. They came out for the initial cleaning and had missed entire surfaces, the baseboards and pictures were not dusted either and there was no clean smell. They go to the trouble of leaving a 49 point check list they should at least follow it. Brian was called and said he would send them out again stating "you got my supervisor and best person" uh huh...they came out again and finished a poor job. Against my better judgement I used them the next month to try again, same thing happened and this time they left some cleaning bottles with what looked like dishwater in them and left my trash so that is what I came home to. Again Brian was called and I asked for my key back, barely and I'm sorry came from him and no offer to come out and look at the problems himself. When I asked for my key back I was told he usually throws them away or I would have to come to the office and get it...uhm what??? you can pick it up but can't return it?
