He set me up to take very small steps towards eating better quality foods. Rather than insisting I make big swinging, unsustainable changes, we would focus on small steps. First, we would remove one or two unhealthy food that I was hooked on and add some healthier foods while allowing me leeway to eat food I enjoyed that didn't disrupt the goal of overall wellness. We also made some smaller changes to my eating schedule, which helped digestion and hunger cravings. Mark's leadership was a push rather than a shove. Next thing I knew, months had passed and my body had learned to expect and even rely on healthier foods and my weight was gradually coming down. Over the months, my goals and objectives with Mark have evolved as I've evolved in my eating habits and weight. Months later, I can make many more informed nutritional choices for myself and have a far better understanding of how my body interacts with foods. I can always trust Mark is taking me in the right direction and that my overall well-being is paramount above the speed of my results or anything else that could influence the process. I am a mom of two young-ish children, and I hadn't worked out since I giving birth to my younger child in September of 2021. My long-term goals were to increase my strength and decrease my body fat while maintaining the little muscle I had...and I was very wary of my ability to do this alone. I was also several months away from turning 40, and my short-term goal was to feel (and look!) good before that happened. I knew Jon was the trainer for me as soon as I met him. I have a very specific sense of humor, and Jon appreciates it. This was very important to me, as it was the only thing that was going to get me over my workout anxiety. I have become stronger, more flexible, and my endurance has improved. I have lost over 25 pounds. I have stenosis in my cervical spine which was damaged many years ago. I have three vertebrae fused as well. Over time, I have developed pain and loss of sensation in my left arm and hand. Since working with Chris, through a methodical program of development, I continue to achieve goals that I did not think would be possible. The ELDOA training has helped me to relieve pressure in my neck and lower back. I have been able to increase the flow of oxygen to these parts of my body and organs that have needed this and continue to. One of my goals has been to be able to play tennis and skiing at a high level without reinjuring myself. Before, I was always hurting myself by doing various exercises or stretches incorrectly. As I progress, he is able to incorporate more advanced exercises and stretches into my program. If things go awry, Chris can immediately address the issue in order to avoid setbacks. This is the most full body high intensity class you can go to! Definitely a one of a kind class…read morethat works out your arms, legs, butt, core, everything. I've never seen this sort of climbing machine, which does look a little intimidating at first but you really just step and strap on. It's only 30 mins but essentially you are climbing a mountain, to a super fun beat haha. The class was led by Tyler who was super energetic - loved his playlist! He sets a rhythm that you move your legs AND arms too, and lets you know where to focus your attention. It's quite dark in the room so you can take a quick pause to step off your machine for a mini water break and hop right back on. Looking forward to the soreness after my next class!
