THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN NO STARS IF POSSIBLE. I'm a big fan of gift shops and spending my monies at local shops. Unfortunately I did not have a great experience here. I have been looking for a travel chess set so we can easily play family games. I can across a small magnetic tin box styled set from here. I made the $12 purchase and ran over to my family on the beach to play. As soon as we set the game up, we found that it was misprinted and that the pieces were too frustrating to use. They were magnetized to each other so we decided after trying a few times that I would run back over to ask for an refund/exchange for another game. ... When I went up to speak with the lady at the counter, she told me that they have a no return/exchange policy and that their system isn't even set up for that kind of stuff. I told her my reasoning and that we were not able to use it at all. It's very unfortunate. We love playing chess. She told me as a consumer I am gambling when I make this purchase and that it was "just $12" while put both hands up as in I can't help you. I told her, it might be just $12 for her, but when I spend my money I like to know that it's going into something that works/useful. That was the end of that conversation. I left very upset and wasted my money for nothing...not even an exchange for a better and more useful item. TIP: Make wise purchases. There are lots of cheap toys in there that will break easily and if you hesitate about it, go with your gut. I should have. The people that work there DO NOT CARE about their customers. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We stopped into this store to pick up beach items and the "manager" was so snotty and rude. A privileged white girl, Karen, treated my 11 year old son terrible after he accidentally stepped into her beach rental area looking for a ball. She snapped at him and told him to get out of her rental area. When I addressed her she remained rude. What if we wanted to rent a beach chair?? Don't give this store your money. read more

A quick trip into Laguna Beach led me to this gem of a shop while waiting to be sat for breakfast at Nick's. Every beach toy possible is offered for kids...like me ; ) Like, I NEED to have me some of them fun sandcastle and skull molds as well as one of them big shovels for burying whomever I fancy. If you are a family on vacation and the kids get bored, that will end here with stuff like Mad Libs (a 5th grade personal fave of mine), Mr. Potato head, a sling shot, Reverse Charades, or buying a skim board. There's also neat souvenirs like LB flip flop magnets. This is definitely a fun little store and the beach is feet away so you can continue the fun like right there. read more

Extremely friendly gentleman working (assume he is owner). My daughter and I strolled in looking for something to distract her so we could continue our walk. There is a really great selection of toys, honestly much more than I thought there would be in there! The guy behind the counter was very nice and helpful! Sea Monkeys, scented pens, Uglydolls, sticker books, Barbies, Disney Princesses, scented pens, basketballs, craft kits, car models, toy baby bottles, kites, Japanese food erasers, Zhu Zhu Pets, slingshots, Hello Kitty, wooden guns, volleyballs, bubble blowers, fake jewelry, board games, shovels, pails, action figures...the list goes on and on and on. This was an experience that needed to be documented. The blonde woman that runs the cash register has to be the most unpleasant human I've ever encountered. We went inside to rent a boogie board for my niece and she was completely rude throughout the entire transaction. I didn't even see a smile or her make eye contact the entire time. Being a local to Laguna Beach, I am very disappointed and encourage anyone that may shop here to consider shopping with another local business that values their customers and wants to create a positive experience! Had to stop by! And I'm glad I did! Walking near the store, I saw some HUGE bubbles floating over the road and my wife said we gotta go in there after we tracked down their origin. They had what looked like a sword sitting in bubble soap and just begging adults and kids alike to play with it. After what could have been an hour making bubbles, we went inside to find my son a cool toy. This place has everything and nostalgic stuff (for me at least, a 40 something) that is really cool. We ended up coming home with the $20 bubble wand and it was a big hit on our street. I think the adults had more fun than the kids! Prices at the store are reasonable, but not cheap. Incredible selection but leave your stroller ourside because it's really tight in there. Will certainly be back for more fun and unique toys! read more

Really cool store. Wall to wall are toys shelved in every available space. Automatic five stars for RUBBER BAND GUNS! There were rifles, guns and slingshots... all reasonably priced. Do yourself a favor and come here to bask in childhood nostalgia. read more

Best bubble wand! We passed by the laguna tattoo shop yesturday and saw some of the tattoo artist creating the biggest bubbles I've ever seen. I was with my daughter (7) and her cousin (4) so of course I had to ask where did they get the bubble wands? They said the main beach toy store. The next day my daughter and I walked to the main beach toy store on a mission. We saw it right away, bought it and asked the cashier to cut the package off so we can use it right away. We created quite the scene on the beach by the Laguna Riviera the bubbles were so big they went up and over the hotel and I was standing in the water! Alot of kids watched and parents asked were to get the huge bubble wand. I told them were to go.. Later the same day I needed more bubbles so I went back to the toy store and told them I used up the bubbles on the beach. The same cashier was there and what seamed like the owner too. They thanked me for telling so many others about the wand! I guess they sold a few... So they gave me 2 bottles of bubbles for FREE! I paid for the bubble addative (to make the bubbles big). Any time I can help spread the word about a good product and a great store I'm all in. Getting something free is even better! I'll be on the beach again tomorrow spreading the good word and making huge bubbles. Thanks to the staff at Main Beach Toys! read more

Gavin is the man. He set us up with the best paddle board rental price in town. We tried 3 other stores and Gavin beat them all. He took us out and showed us how to carry and ride them. Needless to say, if you're renting in Laguna Beach there's no better place. No one can beat prices, location or service. read more
