Optimus Toys is packed to the brim with toys. They've got section for just about every type of toy…read moreyour kids (or yourself. No judgement) would be in to. They even have a decent selection of older toys you won't be able to find elsewhere. Especially blind bag/box toys that are all the rage. For example, I saw Lego CMFs that were 2+ series old in stock. That really surprised me. And for a decent price too. I will say the staff is kinda non existent. They stick to the register & monitor things from there. If you need help, they'll do so, but the won't go out of their way. Prices are also...fine. I think you're paying a tad for convenience & to cover their retail space overhead. It might be cheaper to find some of these things online, but you can get them right then & there which, for me, will trump saving a couple dollars buying online. Optimus Toys brought me back to my childhood when you walked in to a toy store & were mesmerized with the potential of all the toys. Sure it's to a much smaller scale here, but it's still a fun place to check out and to show your kids. It's w great place to bring kids before their birthdays to scope out what types of things they might want for gifts.

They are SO nice here!…read more I always stop by when I'm picking up a drink in a same complex to see if they have tcg in stock. Their pricing is usually about $10 more than msrp, which is honestly so good compared to buying directly from resellers. They're always so friendly too! I also love that they limit pokemon tcg to one item per person. So if they have booster bundle and etbs, you can only choose one of them. They also sell loose packs from a booster box, where you can buy a max of 6. I truly love that they limit everyone to one so that there's enough to go around. We've been able to score some packs for decent pricing since pokemon had an uptake in collectors :) Aside from that, they also sell smiskis and sonny angels as well for about msrp!

A family member told us to try if they have it at game chest for Lorcana trove or anything from the new attack of the vine Lorcana set. I called first and then a lady on the phone said they have troves in stock. So we came in. Waited patiently in store to ask if they had any troves, saying we called ahead. The workers, lady and a man behind the registers "checked" to see if they had any stock, they looked at each other and asked if we played there in store. Not wanting to lie, we said no, and they immediately said no that they didn't have any stock. It was obvious they were lying. How can any person with a conscience lie like that to people and lie to family? We even told them this is how we encourage our son to read. But nothing. We aren't scalpers, we want to play the game. As a family. Being treated like that really leaves a bad impression and gatekeeping product for "their" players isn't cool. And if they want to do that they should set it aside and not include it in their stock. Or just say they don't have any. I can be okay with that. But to drive all the way there and ask and be treated like that makes me want to not support your business or play in your shop.

The value-to-experience ratio just isn't what it used to be. We've come to Top Canvas multiple times before and always had a great experience. We've even recommended it to friends. They still have a really wide variety of machines, but unfortunately, the experience and service seem to have gone downhill. In the past, the workers were incredibly attentive and would help our daughter and her friends rearrange items to make them easier to grab. They weren't just giving things away for free, but they made sure the kids had a reasonable chance of actually winning something. The win rate on the machines was also relatively high, and the prizes were generally easy enough for kids to grab. It was a great, albeit slightly expensive, value. Our most recent visit was very different. The machines had a close-to-zero win rate, and even when a worker rearranged a couple of items for us, they basically just tossed them around in the container and walked away. They didn't actually make them any easier for a small child to grab. We left with one small item, and while we completely understand that winning isn't guaranteed (that's the nature of these games) that's not really what made Top Canvas great in the past. What made it stand out was that it felt accessible and fun for young kids. Unfortunately, that no longer seems to be the case.
