The food is great, but they are super stingy with the duck sauce. I ordered 2 egg rolls and asked for duck sauce for them and all they did was give me extra of the disgusting packets. There is also no option to order it. I will no longer be going here because of this as it's happened twice now and I can't even enjoy my egg rolls. read more

Looks sketchy from the outside but the inside is pleasant and the owners are welcoming. I also noted that it seems very clean in there which is important! Food is SO good. So much better than any Chinese restaurant in Enfield (yes, even better than the ones with high yelp reviews) Lunch special runs every day and for $6.95, you get SO much food. Their fried rice is REALLY good. The rice is not too hard, not dry, and not too soy saucy. I usually hate Chinese fried rice but theirs is almost like Vietnamese style. (Yellow rice with bean sprouts and onions) I LOVE that they don't use the typical frozen peas, carrots in any of their dishes. Their entrees all come with FRESHLY cut vegetables. I got the shrimp and Chinese vegetables with egg roll. (Egg roll is the biggest egg roll I've ever seen. I don't love egg rolls so it was just okay for me) Shrimp was giant! Also got the Kung Pao beef with chicken wing. You get one whole wing (which includes one drum and one flat). Wing was very good- it does not come with any sauce but it doesn't need it. The entrees were pretty good but the standout is the fried rice. I am super excited to try the other dishes. Also, when i called for the food- they don't me it would be ready in 10 min. Not many places were delivering to my hotel at 9pm the Sunday that I arrived. Did I mention there was a hideous storm coming through at the same time? But Main Kitchen answered the phone promptly, made a recommendation for a shrimp dish, when I was waffling between two, and delivered in less than 40 minutes. Good food. Huge portions. Well, the food wasn't that great (and I do lower the bar for Chinese places like this), but I will give them credit for being fast. When they said "ten minutes," they meant it, maybe even less. I was on the job, and needed a quick fix, so these folks came through in the clutch. I had wonton soup and a pork lo mein. The broth wasn't salty enough for me, and the pork in the lo mein wasn't the best, but I guess everything else was okay. Ordered two meals they were suppose to have sauce on them. They were dry, called the restaurant unbelievable customer service. They were at our home within 5 min with correction. The best Chinese food in the area and always my first choice. The boneless ribs are incredible and everything else is good too. Nothing bad to say about this place. And did I mention that they have the best hardworking staff around. Always prompt and willing to work with you. Half the time my food is all set to go in less time than they told me and one time I arrived at about 3:15pm and they still let me order from the lunch menu which stops at 3pm. I have never had better Chinese food than from the Main Kitchen. I don't think I have ever had anything that was bad from there and we have converted many friends. Love the chicken fingers and the boneless spare ribs, my husband loves the egg foo yung (sp). Sometimes delivery can be a bit slow, but if you factor that in to your time, it is well worth the wait and deliveries are always accurate. There is no dine in to speak of- it really is a takeout or delivery deal. But if you choose to take out you can stand there and watch them make your order which is very interesting. read more

so, i have always enjoyed ordering from here, ordering once or twice a month for a nice night in. tonight, however, after waiting well over 1.5 hours, to then have food missing, plates, silverware, chopsticks also missing which i did ask for... to then notice the $30 family meal which i always order had barely enough food for 2 people. keep in mind this meal normally has enough food for 4 and thensome. this day and age $40 is a decent amount of money to wait 1.5 hours, have 1/2 the amount of food, and food missing... is just not okay with me. for the person in charge to then be extremely short and rude while i was being more than calm, respectful and patient. will not be ordering here amytime soon after this awful experience, nor will i be suggesting this place to friends ever again. read more
