Three of the trays are dedicated to starches- white rice, fried rice, and lo mein noodles. Not much in the food department. Normally I am a fan of this place, or have been in the past, and most of my orders were delivery. My opinion changed. After picking up an order, I never realized just how dirty and disgusting this place is inside. The food was ok the last few times, tonight the chicken fingers were overcooked BUT - there are boxes of supplies (?), soda, etc in the windows and seating area and then the fish tank looks like a science experiment gone wrong. If it is dirty out front, I could imagine how well the kitchen is maintained. (It is in view). The workers are not the friendliest either, I almost feel like I am bothering them going here. Oh dear, what can I say. We placed an order at 9:30pm on a Saturday night and the gal that took the order was very nice and repeated it back with accuracy. When I picked it up, said gal was probably 8 years old and rang the register. Nothing wrong with a hard working 8 year old as long as DCS isn't involved. We had 2 meals one delivered by doordash and one picked up. Both were excellent! Large portions, tasty food. The pepper chicken is so good - lots of pepper and spices. Jason House is under new management and it is a giant step in the right direction. We moved to the granby/simsbury area 2 years ago and have been looking for a decent chinese resurant close to home, with no luck. When Jason House opened we were pleasantly surprised with our first order. Since then my husband and I have ordered there many times. Its our new favorite place to get take out. We have ordered egg foo young, general tso chicken, sesame chicken, house lo mein, crab rangoons , pork fried rice, boneless spare ribs, chicken and broccoli and egg rolls. Everything was hot, fresh, on time and very tasty. I feel like people are passing up this restaurant because the former owners did not have the same quality food or customer services standards. The wife runs the front counter and the husband cooks everything fresh to order. They have also told me that they have new items coming to the menu soon. My boyfriend and I ordered the beef and garlic sauce which came with white rice, chicken wings, steamed dumplings, and general two's tofu with veggie lo mein. This was some of the best Chinese food we've had in quite some time. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. Nothing tasted overly salty or too heavy on a certain flavor. I used to love Jason House but then they switched owners. The new owners are rude and have no understanding of customer service. The last time we ordered delivery it was late on a Friday night (a little over an hour before they closed). I asked if they were still doing delivery or if I should come pick it up. I was told delivery was not a problem and they would be here in about 30 minutes. Well over an hour later no food and the restaruant is closed so no one will answer the phone. They showed up 90 minutes after we placed the order... Wrong food and it was cold. We wanted to give them another try. We ordered online for delivery over an hour ago.... Still no food... I called to check on our order and she told me our food has been ready for awhile but they are waiting on the driver. I told her I would just come pick it up since it was ready. She said "WHATEVER" and hung up the phone. IM DONE!!! read more

We ordered from here on a Tuesday night after discovering that our first choice is closed on Tuesdays! Placed an order on the phone and they said it would be 15 min, great. Showed up at the restaurant and called from outside to let them know I had arrived per COVID-era protocols, and paid over the phone with my credit card. The woman said it was going to be a couple more minutes. After waiting another 15 min, I called again and was put on hold (on the counter) only to hear them telling another customer that it was an hour wait for food!! When she got back on the phone she told me they were bagging up my order. In the meantime I read the yelp reviews and started to have regrets! It took them another 10 min to finally bring out the food. So all in all it took almost 45 min to get our food when we were told 15 min. The food did smell great on the ride home and we were pleasantly surprised with the taste, given the generally low reviews. Overall, this wouldn't be my first choice due to the way underestimated wait time but the food was decent, portions were large, and we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. read more

It's ok. I had the shrimp curry. Shrimp was done properly (not over cooked). Curry was ok nothing special . It's a very mild curry. Sauce was light perhaps a little sticky. Pork fried rice was simple but tasty. Vegetables consisted of a 5 or 6 snow peas , a couple pieces of carrot (all cooked well) and a ton of yellow onion . I'm surprised by the bad reviews. Most of it is cleanliness, I guess. I wouldn't worry about the kitchen, though. You can see them working, and it looks like a normal kitchen. The table's aren't exactly sterile, but the place is a dive inside. Just take it home or go for delivery. Not a place to eat in. Still, I love the food and they are always very kind to me. Great location with a lot of parking spaces. Safe during the day and night. Nestled in little plaza with other food choices as well such as Indian and Italian and a bakery. Last visit, I ordered Chinese for me, a Grinder for my neighbor and asked about non Spicy Indian food while I was waiting. Place has very good Chinese food for the area. If you're from Granby you know that there is very little in terms of delivery around us. Jason house delivers to my house even though we are probably on the outer limits of their servce area which we really appreciate. The food is always hot and has very good flavor. Funny thing happened on the way to Jason's House for lunch: I never intended on eating there. I was actually on my way to another restaurant in the same strip shopping center that has been highly rated and regarded. Only problem when I got there was it didn't really appeal to me. I waited for a few minutes while the staff seemed to run around in circles and decided I wasn't going to have lunch there. On the way to the car, I passed Jason's and decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Like so many mom and pop Chinese restaurants, the decor is nothing to write home about. In fact, it's kind of depressing. Brown booths, some potted plants and an unremarkable picture of the Great Wall. I was the only customers having lunch in the place from noon to 12:30p. Still, my wonton soup was spicy and delicious and the pork lomein was delicious and plentiful. I got out of there for less than $7 and was stuffed.
