Update after Tin's response: No, the pink at the base of my nail is NOT from my nails growing out. The white nail bed below the pink is the new nail. Maybe it's not clear in the picture, but there is a very visible difference in the thickness of my nail where it has grown out compared to where the electric file was used. I'm very disappointed that, instead of just apologizing and owning up to the mistake, you tried to accuse me of not even knowing what the nails on my own hand look like. I've been staring at the gashes at the base of my nails for the past two weeks. Original review: Setting up an appointment was really easy. They were able to get me in right away. I got a full set of acrylic nails with a gel polish, and I actually think they did a decent job. The shop was clean, the technicians were friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I really want to like this place, but I don't plan on returning because of some of their practices. The reasons I won't be coming back? They didn't push back my cuticles, which is minor. But more importantly, THEY USED AN ELECTRIC NAIL DRILL ON MY NATURAL NAIL BED! They stripped off so much of the top layer of my natural nail that I've spent the last two weeks in fear that a broken nail will literally split my nail open. On a few of my nails the filed down section wasn't even fully covered with acrylic, so I can easily see how drastically my nails were filed down. I haven't had a terrible experience yet. I have had acrylic done by Trina twice and she does a great job. All of the staff are great and the paraffin wax dip and massage during my pedicure was relaxing and nice. I don't think they rush me at all. read more

Booked an appointment at Main St Nails & Spa on a Saturday afternoon. The place was packed up until 3pm so I'd avoid coming in any time before that. The place is lovely and has a comfy sofa at the waiting area. I love the ambiance with the soothing spa music as well as clean and cozy environment. My nail technician was quite aggressive while doing my nails because she was doing 2 customers back and forth simultaneously. It really took away that "pampering" feel when everyone is in a rush. My nails turned out beautiful, she understood my preference and always checks with me to make sure it is how I wanted. I got a refill and shellac manicure for $35 (exc. tip). I'm happy with the overall experience and I can definitely see myself coming here again. read more

This was an okay experience for a pedicure. My spa chair was half broken (only the knead functions worked, not the flap) and the polish was applied messily. It was up on the edge of the skin surrounding the nail, and in a few spots, I had to rub off some stray polish from my skin. I wasn't excited about the overall quality as I left the salon- which is why I took a picture right then. The spot on the middle row wasn't caused by interference with a shoe or anything else- it's just the way the job was done. read more

Did the pedi that came with foot buff, scrub, etc. they rushed so fast she was done in 15 min. The tub was just water no solution and so little water it barely covered feet. They caused more roughness on my feet than i had to begin with as she just went over the feet with water and the plastic stone. The lotion was weird as it was just applying lotion for way too long not even massage. polish job was sloppy and had to spend extra time cleaning it up instead of doing it correct. I got a polish change on hands and she kept asking me if i wanted specific things like a few nails filed or the nail-beds prepped before polish... how odd. Every place I've ever been includes shaping and file nail bed prep or small hangnail clean up as a part of color change.. and i said multiple times "if it's included with color change sure." She then filed my gel polish tips after they cured which caused all of them to split and i have to now go pay to have removed. She then did a random lotion application which was odd cause thats never in color changes. Then at checkout they tried to charge me 2x the cost as if i got a full gell manicure. She said "you let me do non color polish steps on you" i was so shocked at this scam. I replied what actually happened and she got mad then someone else came over and said no worries it should be only color change. They also use old polish that never dried on toes. I miss when local high quality shops existed. Oh well. read more

This salon is okay. The photos make it look a bit more glamorous but it's small, and cluttered and not the most welcoming. My nails look fine, but I think because I had an appointment I needed to be at in the afternoon, the job was rushed. I was really worried about how they'd turn out but I can live with them. I had two different nail techs work on me, both were polite but neither really wanted to talk. My husband had a basic manicure and it was really really basic for $20. He has had better experiences elsewhere that include a lengthy massage. I needed one tip applied to a broken nail and it bends up quite a bit and doesn't look natural. The underside was also drilled and you can now see my natural nail has been filed away. She did get me out in time for my next appointment which was great, but I did tell her that I could come right back as my appointment was a very quick one and just a block up the road and to not rush. I will keep looking for my perfect nail salon. Great place to stop in in a pinch, but not the best experience. read more

I received the worst shellac manicure from here. I'm new to the area and decided to check this place out after months of not getting a manicure. The whole process took less than 20 minutes, which is not a good thing. The lady doing my nails didn't use water or cuticle treatment before she hacked away at my nail beds. COVID precautions are strictly followed so I feel safe. I come here frequently to get gel manicures and pedicures. everyone who has worked on my nails has been very pleasant and detail oriented. The other day I came in after a week because my nail had chipped and not only did they fix my one nail but they redid all the rest free of charge so my manicure lasted twice as long. Just to be clear my nail didn't chip because of the quality of the manicure, I have yet to find anything anywhere that holds up to long hours at the hospital especially with all the hand sanitizer. read more

I really wanted to like this nail salon. The first time I visited, I had a great shellac manicure. On my second visit, I received a shellac mani/pedi. The pedi wasn't pleasant and I had three different people working on my toes at different times. It was rushed (and the place was not busy at all). The cuticle cutting hurt at times so was not relaxing. When the woman put the dryer on my toes, the machine kept falling on top of my toes, burning them. This happened 4 times. She just wasn't paying attention and only noticed when I let out a yelp each time. Never had this happen before. I felt like I got stuck with amateurs. The upside was the foot massage. It was pretty fantastic, but I can get that elsewhere. read more

The salon has new owners and they are doing everything they can to leave a positive impression - and it's working! They gave the place a complete make-over and it's great. The space and decor is very relaxing. There are 4 new massage mani/pedi chairs and 4 mani tables in the main room. If you want some additional privacy, there are two chairs in a separate room (non-massage chairs). There is also a separate space for spa treatments. They have relaxing music playing instead of a noisy TV. They keep their conversation to a minimal to really let you relax and enjoy your time. The ladies here are beyond sweet and really go out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Sometimes we have a hard time understanding each other, but after a couple of "Say that again?", we manage just fine. They find that balance of being really fast without making you feel rushed and not a priority. Most importantly, their work is beautiful and creative. The last time I came in, they fixed my broken nail and I was so impressed with their method. Each time I have gone in, they were giving away something. Whether it's a discount, nail kits, polish, scented candles, or additional designs at no cost. While I think it's nice that they are running these promotions, it was their customer service and work that really impress me. read more

Everyone was friendly and the gal who did my nails did exactly what I asked her to! She did my entire fill with shellac and an eyebrow wax in 30 minutes, and they were super busy! I love my nails & always appreciate when they can get you in and out quickly! The atmosphere was very inviting and clean! On their shellac pallet of nails you look through to pick your color they actually had designs, ombres, and glitter French tips. It was fun to have more options than just a color to choose from!
