Service has slid a bit downhill and I feel it's time for an update. The last time I was in here, it was to get a gel manicure removed and a new one. However, the manicurist was new to the shop and she was rough. She pinched my skin twice with the clippers. She called me sensitive instead of apologizing. At that point, I told the owner, Susan, I was getting the gel removed only that day and would leave. The manicurist then started filing down my fingers - no, not a typo. I said we'll stop for the day, I paid and left. Another service prior to this was disappointing due to a different manicurist being sloppy with clipping my pinky nail unevenly the night before my bridal shower. I had to go back the next morning and ask for it to be fixed. I would come back in with only Susan doing my nails, no one else. read more

I have given this salon a couple of tries but I will never return. I made an appointment for a full set. I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment. When I sat down I asked that they remove the nails I currently had on and they refused, saying they had no extra time to do a removal first. I left and walked in to another salon that welcomed me and had no problem providing my service with excellent customer service, too. Salon 1020 has been unable to even fit me in when I call a week ahead of time on multiple occasions. read more

Came in for a fill and gel polish. They were very friendly but the gal rushed my nails so fast that she was done with the fill and gel color in a little less than an hour. I've never had that fast of a service. It's nice as far as time goes but quality should match what you pay for. The next day I could see the fill lifting on 4 nails. I don't live here so I wasn't able to go back for them to fix it as I normally would have. Very disappointed and now, 4 days later I'm getting them redone elsewhere for quality service. Visited last week after making an appointment via phone and my nails still look amazing! Got a manicure and pedicure (just under $40 and if you pay in cash you get a 10 or 5% discount). The water for my pedicure was started after I got there (giving me plenty of time to debate which colors I wanted). The woman who did my service was efficient and very gentle. I am 8 months pregnant and wanted my toes to at least look decent despite the fact that I can't see them. The massage was gentle but oh so rewarding. Other clients continued to trickle in, some with appointments and others were walk-ins. What I liked most was how I didn't feel as if my cuticles were being torn to shreds nor were they left with a partial treatment. Definitely coming back. read more

this is my new fav salon even though it was about a 20 min drive it was worth it. i didn't make an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in at 1:15. i only had to wait about half an hour which wasn't too bad considering i was a walk-in. i got a full set with gel and i paid $41 plus tip. she gave me a student discount which i believe is 10%. i forgot the name of my nail tech but she was really nice. while the other nail techs were talking/gossiping she focused on my nails and didn't join in on their conversation. i asked for coffin shaped nails which to me is always a hit or miss because most places i've gone to have made them super crooked and uneven but here she spent a lot of the time shaping and filing my nails. the color selection wasn't too bad. i've seen other salons with way more colors but i was able to find several colors that i liked. i ended up choosing a yellow color. no doubt that i will be coming back in the future. read more

All ladies here are super helpful and kind, and they do not "publicly chastise" customers, even difficult customers. They work hard and are nothing but professional.
