Steak (medium rare) and eggs with English muffin and fruit.

Second time visiting The Serve for breakfast and it was again very good and exceeded my expectations. The decor is upscale, with tables and booths which are very comfortable. FIrst time I had the French toast and my friend had the steak and eggs which looked amazing and he said was one of the best he had. Today we went back and I got steak and eggs and man was that good. They nailed the temp on steak medium rare and the taste was fantastic. Usually steak and eggs as restaurants can be of a lower quality but this melted in your mouth. I got the eggs scrambled (3 eggs rather than the standard 2), an English muffin and fruit were my sides(other options available). The service was also very good. The only downside was the coffee served in the restaurant with breakfast. The first time I went I did not care for as it was kind of bitter, I gave it a second chance And unfortunately same thing. I later found out they use packets of grounds (probably burnt a bit) and drip the coffee, the server mentioned others have said also the coffee was not the best. However they do have a coffee and desert bar area separate from restaurant (right next to it inside) that you can get better coffee (fancy drinks) and they grind their own beans and others have since told me that is good coffee. I hope the restaurant takes the feedback and tries to improve that part of the equation.

Wow. Honestly kinda blown away by this place. First of all the facility is beautiful, they have indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, top golf simulators, a bar, and a fully functional cafe/restaurant. All of it is super modern, clean, and well designed. Now onto the food specifically - I heard it was really good so I decided to order some lunch. My only complaint is there's no way to order online so I had to call my order in. I got a burger and fries, chicken wings, and guacamole. The burger was great, I have no complaints at all, and the fries were fresh and flavorful. The wings were jumbo and juicy. I don't think I'll order the barbalo sauce next time, but other than that the wings were amazing. They come with fresh celery and carrots and blue cheese/ranch. Overall I was impressed. And the guacamole was fresh, chunky, and tasted great. The chips were good too, honestly no complaints and would order again. Overall I was surprised how good the food is here being a pickleball facility. The restaurant area is honestly much nicer than most restaurants in the Lake Norman area and I wouldn't think twice about taking someone here for lunch. Everything feels well run, thought out, and I'm glad to see it looks like they're growing fast. I showed up on a Tuesday afternoon and the parking lot was full to the brim - I honestly thought they must be sharing parking with someone else but no, it was just as full of people on the inside.

Crab cake dinner, a very good choice

Our party of 5 had dinner in the restaurant. For a Tuesday evening the restaurant was not busy. The service was outstanding. Jaxen was super great, efficient, courteous, and top notch. The place was quiet and not noisy. They did well in designing the indoor seating area. The food was extremely well prepared, hot, and very tasteful. We had no issues and were very satisfied. The prices were in line with a higher end restaurant. We will definitely come back again.

Brisket grilled cheese and French fries really really good I would highly recommend it

So I've been here several times and I have always been extremely pleased with the food, the service and the ambiance. I have tried breakfast once and lunch three times. I would highly recommend this place. The best part is the awesome lighted pickleball courts they have here, 10 indoor six outdoor really top notch all the way. This business is a great addition to the Lake Norman community!!

Braised short rib on creamy polenta with a side of fingerling potatoes. Was yummy!!

Great food. I had braised ribs on creamy polenta and side of fingerling potatoes. Both were excellent but needed salt for my taste. That's where I had a problem. You can't get salt or pepper out of the tiny hole shakers and they are not sitting on the table. So I got hot food but had to wait to eat it until I got a salt and pepper shaker. I just got up and went to the cafe bar for a set after I waited, during a non-busy time of day & they thought I was taken care of, for a few minutes. Then my waitress was great but I stayed a few hours working on my computer and when she left and I had checked out, I never got asked again if I wanted anything by the new server. I didn't want anything.. but they should've asked. I like the place. Looks fun w golf & pickle ball.

Amazing experience! From the food to the friendly staff everything was amazing! Made my birthday extra special.

Man... the food is amazing, service is great, decor is on point, great live music all the time, full bar, desserts. Oh and pickle ball and golf simulators hahahaha. Yes I told my wife, we are going to a pickle ball spot for breakfast ?! She got me with the Jazz! But once I tried the food, We have been back multiple times since. They even hooked up my omelet into a burrito

    Salmon with quinoa, espresso martini.

Set right in downtown Davidson across from Davidson College, the atmosphere strikes that perfect balance--lively but still intimate. The menu evolves frequently, so what we saw differed from what's posted online--but that turned out to be part of the charm. Everything sounded appealing, and choosing wasn't difficult. Our server stood out immediately--deeply knowledgeable and able to walk through each dish with impressive detail, right down to preparation. It's easy to see why Kindred earned "Recommended" status in the inaugural Michelin Guide American South and continues to be recognized for top-tier hospitality and cuisine. We started with the Little Gem lettuce salad--fresh, bright, and elevated by the perfect crunch and subtle richness of pistachios. For my entrée, I had the rigatoni with guanciale, English peas, and pecorino sardo--rich, balanced, and full of flavor without being heavy. A memorable meal all around.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Despite having reservations, the arrival and seating process felt disorganized. Our server was very friendly and sweet, but she was also somewhat aloof, rarely checked on us, and didn't seem particularly knowledgeable about the kitchen or menu. She mentioned at least five times that they had a new chef and that the menu had become "eclectic." In retrospect, that should have been a warning. Unfortunately, we did not have a single item of food that we would order again. At this price point, that is unacceptable--especially when outstanding premium restaurants such as Seaboy are literally just down the road. We started with a fried rice-ball appetizer and a mozzarella plate. Both desperately needed seasoning and were surprisingly bland. My Caesar salad was tiny, limp, and somehow almost entirely flavorless. My wife ordered a fried game-bird entrée--quail, if I remember correctly. I can't say exactly what went wrong in the kitchen, but the coating had the stale-oil flavor of McDonald's fries discovered three months too late. The accompanying sauce was murky, visually unappealing, and did absolutely nothing to rescue the dish. I love fried chicken, and even I couldn't eat hers. When our server cleared the plate, approximately 95% of the entrée was still sitting there. The server asked if my wife didn't like it, and she commented that it was not very good and explained why, yet they did not offer to make any changes or even discount that part of the bill which felt like a significant missed opportunity to address an obviously unsuccessful dish. I ordered the trout. Even allowing for the smaller portions common at upscale restaurants, it was one of the smallest entrées I have ever been served. Unfortunately, it didn't deliver enough flavor or refinement to make up for its size. By the time dessert was offered, we had no interest in spending more money after being disappointed by the appetizers, salads, and entrées. The beautiful historic home, atmosphere, and front-porch dining remain fantastic. Sadly, the food and overall experience no longer lived up to that wonderful setting. Our first visit was mind-blowing. This visit ensured that we won't return. Unless a massive sign appears out front announcing new management, a new chef, new staff, and an entirely new everything, we will spend our future anniversary dinners elsewhere. To those about to nosh, you have been warned.
