A colleague and I chose Killington's based on our hotel's recommendation. We ate at the bar and but sat down 15 minutes before closing. The bartender assured us that we were good, offered suggestions and even boxed up a plate of untouched food for our other colleague that got held up and wouldn't be arriving. I first have to say we haven't ever had a bad meal here until Monday night. My husband got the steak which had no taste. Our son had a Ruben with 1 slice of meat and I had the shrimp and grits which wasn't even close to past experience's. Our service was ok. She asked if we wanted waters. Well, I'm impressed! I joined nine other friends for lunch one weekday at Killington's, and had a great meal. We sat at one of the long tables near the bar, and it was nice and quiet on that side so we could easily talk to each other without having to yell or disturbing other guests. My friend ordered the duck nachos to share with the table. I didn't take a photo before we dug in, but it was covered in melty cheese, and had lots of shredded duck. I am typically NOT a duck fan, but their shredded, slightly crispy version was perfect. I'll definitely get this again. For my entree, I tried their turkey pita with asparagus as the side. The pita was loaded with turkey, and the Swiss cheese was generous and perfectly melted. It was a warm and delicious sandwich! The asparagus was just fine, too. All of my friends enjoyed their meals as well, but I'm especially interested in trying the blackened shrimp wrap and salmon salad after seeing their plates. The appetizer wasn't your typical spinach dip-the pepperjack really kicked it up a notch and the chips were fresh and crispy. The vanilla in the mule was bold! Im a vanilla lover so it worked for me. I appreciate that they use the stronger ginger beer-you can tell the difference! And, how cute is the mule?! Finally, let's get into this sandwich! Before we came in, we had reservations because no one was in the restaurant. We were going to go someplace else, but my oldest son said "that's why small restaurants go out of business. Capitalism!" After hearing so many great things about Killingtons Restaurant and Pub, I had to try it out for myself and I am glad that I did. I ordered the Pub Fish Fry and Pub Calamari and both were great! The fish was breaded nicely and had an excellent crunch to it. The Pub Calamari was really good and was a new twist on calamari for me. It had a spicy kick to it and the reviews were correct on how good it was! I ordered my food to go and it was ready within 15 to 20 minutes time. Upon pick up, my food was waiting for me at the bar and the staff/bartender knew that it was my order upon walking in. Inside there was plenty of seating in the main seating area as well as the bar area. It was around 8:45 PM, so there were not a lot of people inside at that particular time. But I could only imagine how full it would be on game days and the weekends! In the seating area and at the bar, there were plenty of TVs for watching games! There is also plenty of parking on the street and in the parking lots around the building. I will definitely come back to try out some more dishes and grab a beer! If you are in the area, it is definitely worth a stop to try them out! read more

Jessica our server was prompt, informative, and efficient in taking our orders, getting our food out to us, and in following up along with providing accurate checks. The food was excellent. I had the bacon encrusted meatloaf, it was really good. Others in the party had a chicken sandwich, pork chops, and a salad, all of which were good. We stopped at Killingtons on our way home from the beach, and were very happy with our choice. I ordered the chicken tender sandwich with a cup of shrimp chowder, and oh! That chowder was amazing!! Perfectly flavored with chunks of shrimp. Hubby got a burger and house salad, and raved about the size and variety in his salad. Service was excellent, and our meals arrived quickly. There are not many items on the menu that are consistent, although their meatloaf is still a winner along with their black bean burger. The atmosphere is very dimly lit and the wall color is dark. Killington's is a nice little pub in Huntersville serving up pub fare with a few twists. For instance, they offer two different smoked duck menu items: a nachos appetizer and a wrap entree. I got the Smoked Duck Nachos appetizer for my meal. It was more than enough so I ended up sharing some of it and still had plenty to eat plus some to take home. It came topped with a generous portion of smoked duck, plus white cheddar, green onions, and sour cream. It also came with sun-dried tomato bacon jam, which I asked for on the side to taste just in case I didn't like it (turns out, I did. It was delicious.) Everyone else ate the Pub Calamari, Pub Fish Fry (a HUGE portion of fish!), Bacon Encrusted Meatloaf, and Killington's Cheeseburger. I tasted the calamari because their version is chili glazed with peppers and onions. It was actually pretty good; sweet from the chili glaze and Asian-inspired. I didn't have room for dessert so I didn't taste the peanut butter pie but the consensus was it too was delicious. I'm looking forward to another visit to Killington's so I can experience the rest of the menu, including their brunch offerings. read more
