Thisis a cozy pub with a full bar, a decent selection of beer, great live music, and one heck of a nice and fun crowd. I came here to see a friend who plays here in Tuesday evenings (Derrick), and I had an amazing time. The service was friendly and welcoming and the space was pretty clean and comfortable. This Kilted Buffalo is located in a centrally located shopping plaza with a lot of free parking and quite a few stores and restaurants within walking distance. I'm definitely coming back! read more

First time visit. With Covid, simple things like getting a haircut have become an ordeal. Add it that, the proliferation of on line scheduling that so many place use and do not work, it's a nightmare. For years, I used the services of a very professional young lady in Cornelius that was always a great experience. Covid hit and like all barbers and salons in NC, they closed for a period of time. When the reopened, she went to online booking and her site was not compatible with my android smart phone so was never able to set up an appointment. By this time, we had moved from Cornelius NC to Denver NC 8 miles to the west so may as well see if I could find a new barber in the Denver area. Tried Sports Cuts for a period of time but like most, they have an option of adding someone to your visit. Problem is the online system does not budget for that extra person in terms of time. Occurred a couple of time and after the last time, after sitting there for 45 minutes and they still had not gotten to the person who had the next appointment, I said forget it. Went home and booked an appointment with Great Clips and got there to find out that their local computer system was down and they could not even interface with the Corporate Computer System so my reservation was irrelevant. Went home and booked an appointment with Rooster's in Cornelius and got there at 1;00 pm for an appointment with Linda was was immediately served with a great hair cut. Great Experience. Tried it again last weekend with same stylist Linda and had a 1:15pm appointment. Got there early at 1:00 pm and checked in and by 1:30, she had just started on her 1:00 pm appointment again because of the deficiencies of he the one line booking system I left because I did not want to waste anymore time. Most places have a policy that you will be flagged if you do not show up within 15 minutes of your appointment so the same criterion should apply to the service provider. Yesterday I went on line again to try and book an appointment for a hair cut with The Kilted Buffalo. They have two locations but since my car was being serviced today, I asked my wife where she wanted to go, Birkdale or Langtree which are their two locations. Went ahead and booked Birkdale for 11:00 with no specification on stylist since I did not know any of the stylist. I got a confirmation with time and place and Brittany was going to be my stylist. For once, fortune was in my favor because Brittny is an incredible Barber and did a great job cutting and styling my hair (what little is left of it) There are two The Kilted Buffalo's locally. One is in Birkdale and the other in Langtree. Up until today, had not been to either. It's a combination local Pub/Barbershop. It's obvious that the Pub is the primary function when you walk in because the Barber Shop is walled off just off the bar area. Don't let that detune you if you are looking for a great haircut. Online said it closed at 12:30. Walk in at 11:43, by 11:45, the lights were flipped on. We were greeted quickly. I ordered a beer, my husband and Irish mule. The bartender brought the bill, but my husband wanted a second drink. She said she already closed us out, and I'm thinking 'just run the card again for another drink. What's the problem?' We wanted to find a close-by bar where we can just hang out. This is not our place. I've seen lots of great events here; there was a dog adoption once, so we stopped by and bought a beer; we've played corn hole before. Each time, it's fine, but nothing spectacular. This most recent time we went to Kilted, the bartender seemed like she was completely drunk!! We asked her for a list, and she just stared at us blankly. I had a great first experience. I'm bald, so I went for a hot shave. Jennie Kimmer was amazing!! Very nice. Wonderful head shave and beard trim. First time here on Saturday morning. I woke up and something told me It was a good day for a haircut and a hot lather shave so I finally decided to check out the Buffalo. Glad I did. Got a great haircut and relaxing shave from the awesome Katie. So the shave was with a Gillette Fusion and not a straight razor. Big deal. It was quite a nice experience nevertheless. I know plenty of folks who are regulars and probably get more out of Kilted than those of us who stop in every now and then. Normally we really enjoy hanging out at this bar but this most recent time the bartender serving us had a major attitude. She was an older blonde with brown undertones. She was miserable being at work and it really showed through based on her attitude and service. Honestly, I've only gotten one drink here, but I mainly come for the barbershop. I'm sure this place gets busy and a little rowdy, it's a good looking bar with a pretty great selection, it's just not close to my house! There are three seats and multiple people to help you out in the barbershop. Make an appointment or take a chance and see if the dedicated walk-in stylist is available. They're all great and are well trained, so whoever you choose will be a good choice! This is true with most barbershops, but just to put it out there... they'll end your haircut with a shampoo/massage (hot scented towel over your face), neck shave, and styling if you want. This place is very unique and a great place to unwind and have a few drinks. Its beer and wine only, but they also have shuffleboard, cornhole, golden tee, and great lounging areas. There is also an attached barber shop that is open during the day that offers old fashion shaves and haircuts, but I've never experienced that part of the place. However, I would say the beer is just a tad expensive compared to other places, but you get attentive service, lots of games, and just a great overall atmosphere in return. I'm definitely a big fan. A great watering hole with a "Cheers" kind of feel to it. I started going to get my haircut there since I live really close and don't like the chain hair places. Jenny and her staff are great stylists that give you personal attention while you're in the chair. A great haircut, hot towel, and massage can't be beat. And... you can enjoy a beer while getting it. SHan, the owner, takes the time to get to know you and make you part of their family. They have a great selection of beer, but who needs more than Guinness on tap? Good place for the boys too hang while the girls shop! They have a decent variety of beer and wine (no hard liquor served at this place). The have a cool shuffle board and a barber salon inside. It's located in the outdoor mall so it can be hard to find off the road. They had Woodchuck Apple Cider which was awesome! I have been to The Kilted Buffalo a few times in the past and enjoyed myself. A good selection of beers are on hand and usually a good bartender. Today they pissed me off! My wife and daughter were shopping up the street at Victoria's Secret so I figured I stop by The Buffalo and have a pint or three. To make a long story short, when I paid for my first beer (an excellent Sweetwater 420) the bartender evidentially assumed my change was his tip! NOT COOL!!! Now I'm normally a generous tipper, and he would have made out much better if he didn't do this, but he did. I left after 1 brew, letting him know how uncool this was and that I will probably find another watering hole here in Birkdale where there are lots of other places to chose from. This place is super awesome! I went with my boyfriend while he got his haircut. This is a guy's dream barbershop. A pub with a barber shop inside? Yes, please! The barbershop is enclosed if you are worried about hygiene but there are large windows so you get a view in (or out if you are getting a cut) They only serve beer and wine but also make popcorn for those who want it. The beer selection is very good from domestics to microbrews. Also your first cut they will give you 50% off so be sure to ask for it! read more
