Eli has always been wonderfully fair to me. I have serviced my personal vehicles there along with my business vehicles. Actually one of my vehicles is in there now. Reasonable gas prices but Eli tried to screw me over both times I brought each of my shitboxes in here. Look, I understand teen girls don't TYPICALLY know the most about cars, but you shouldn't just assume that and try to rip them off. I KNOW the faulty cat converter on my 91 Celica doesn't need to be replaced for hundreds of dollars, it doesn't even NEED it since it doesn't have to pass emissions. Also, I am not paying $300 for a new exhaust that needs only to have a hole patched. Also no one is allowed to insult my shitty Subaru but me, so I found that extremely rude. Eh, had my oil changed and got an inspection sticker there this weekend. He had to replace lights above my license plate, too, which I don't know if that was required or not. But all in all it costs me over $100, which seems pretty expensive for an oil change and inspection sticker. I didn't feel like haggling over the price, but probably won't be back there. The place also seemed pretty disorganized run as a one man show. read more

Extremely good experience with Eli at Main Street Auto. Finding an honest, trustworthy mechanic these days is not easy. Eli was very patient and professional in taking the time to provide an explanation on the work that was needed on my Xterra. No scare tactics..he just really set my expectations on what was needed, what can wait, estimated time frame, and cost. I felt very comfortable with the work that was done and the pricing was more than reasonable. I'll definitely be recommending Main St. Auto to my friends and family. I am a big fan of Main St Auto. After some not to pleasant experiences with other mechanics in the area one of my friends told me to go to Eli at Main St. It is a great place to have your car serviced, and he is very knowledgeable about Honda's. I went in last week for oil change and window issue and he checked the brakes quickly and free of charge and found they were just fine. And he fixed the window issue without any charge beyond the very reasonable hourly rate. I felt really comfortable there too. Clean waiting room, friendly & honest service, convenient location right by the T on route 27. Affordable, reliable car care..that's all you need. I'll definitely be back. read more

Main Street Auto was always my convenient auto repair shop and Eli always seemed to know me as an individual and treat me as such. However, my most recent experience was so unpleasant that I refuse to ever go back and would advise anyone reading this to avoid them at all costs... My story: Last summer I had my shocks, struts and sway bars replaced on my '06 Mercury Milan because my wife and I were expecting our first child and wanted the car to run as soundly as possible. Now, a year removed, I've been noticing my car bouncing and making a clunking noise on the front end. It's been happening for a few months and my wife finally convinced me to bring it back to Eli to get it fixed. It was clearly shocks/struts related as I'm bouncing around in my car at every bump I hit, making it look like I'm straight out of a 1990s rap video. I brought it in on a Tuesday and explained the issue to Eli and mentioned that I believed it to be the shocks or struts and being under a year since the initial repair, it should be covered under warranty. I picked my car up Saturday....4 days later and was told by Eli "everything's fine, I didn't notice any bouncing or hear a sound, but if you notice it again bring it back Monday". I noticed it again but had to work Monday. I asked my wife to call him and see when he could look at it, Saturday being the most convenient for us, but Eli said Saturday didn't work for him and suggested the following Monday. My wife informed him that Monday didn't work and suggested Wednesday (over a week notice), which Eli also denied. Having an almost one year old at this point, we decided to get a second opinion to ensure the safety of the vehicle. We went to Sudden Impact in Whitman and Brian, one of the owners, hopped in for a test drive. Before leaving his parking lot, he said "I hear it, it's your sway bar links". We drove maybe 500 yards and he said "How did the other place not notice this? I've never felt a floating motion this bad before". We returned to his shop where he jacked up the car and diagnosed the shocks/struts as being no good. I went to locate my invoice from the previous year so that Eli could do the work again, but somehow the invoice went missing. Explain to me how I have all invoices for any work done on my car (including oil changes) but somehow do not have that one particular invoice? If you were to ask me, while my car was sitting at Main St Auto for 4 days, someone might have taken a little time to find the invoice to avoid having to do the work again and not make as much $ because it was done the year before. Instead of trying to have the work done by Eli for no charge due to the warranty, I've decided to pay the extra money to have Sudden Impact do the job for peace of mind and safety for my family. Do yourselves a favor and avoid Eli and his shady ways at all costs! read more

I'm a single Mom of two young boys and have found Eli to be very helpful in finding the most economical ways to fix my 2003 Ford, as issues arise. He has been working on it for over a year and I have not had any problems. Main Street Auto is definitely run as more of a mom and pop operation, like the old days, so its fair to have that expectation when you go in!
