Me and my family had to go there a second time to make sure we weren't dreaming. The service was REALLY good, Family owned and operated. The space on the inside is nice and quiet, perfect for eating in peace or for taking your family. Over all, if I could give this place a 6 star review I would, but unfortunately the app only goes up to 5 stars.

Based on the menu (burgers, pizza, and the like) and the restaurant's ambiance, we were expecting fast food. However, our selections were cooked fresh-to-order (which took a bit long to arrive) and were a cut above typical fast food. I ordered a mushroom-and-Swiss burger with all the fixings and deep-fried cheese curls (mostly to find out what they are!), while my husband got a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Both meals were very tasty. We REALLY also wanted some of their creamy frozen custard but we were too full. Not to worry, we got it to go & put it in our RV's mini-freezer. This was truly a special treat for us later on. Excellent Butter Pecan! We didn't have any kids with us but they had adorable car-shaped containers for their kid's meals. We also appreciated the friendly locals who were very friendly with us. Breaking weather warnings were on the screen of the television in the restaurant -- but we had no clue where the affected areas were in relation to where we were in Elk City. They reassured us that we were out of the danger zone for tornadoes but that we might experience high winds. For any Harvest Host RVers out there, 66 ToGo is a participating host. The sites are level and plentiful, and the host was quick to confirm our reservation.

Onion rings were of the frozen variety, not bad but in a place like this hand dipped fresh would be so much better. The frito pie was yum! What was really impressive though is how friendly every employee we encountered was. Also super impressive were the young ladies working there, when not busy with customers, they were wiping things down *behind the counter, the drive thru window inside and outside) and just generally keeping the place nice. It has been a long, long time since I've seen this kind of detailed upkeep and busyness by workers in a service business. Great training by the owner and these young ladies will make wonderful employees as they move on to other careers because someone took the time to teach them how to be good employees.... compliments from a hiring manager of many young people who lack this kind of discipline and attention to detail.

No, just basic that you could find just about anywhere BUT! the service was great. Everyone was friendly, we got our food quickly even though it was busy on a Saturday afternoon. There's even a drive thru if you're in a hurry. I would recommend you try for yourself!

The hash browns clearly tasted fresh--like they were cut that morning, not frozen or from a supplier bag. Everything had amazing flavor and gave me energy for the whole day. Our ribeye was amazing, marinated in spices and cooked to perfection. We chose the two included sides and ours were a loaded baked potato and string beans. Because we shared the 12 Oz steak, we added a side and chose grilled zucchini. All were grilled in real butter, except of course, the potato. And even though our amazing, cheerful server, Joey, assured us real butter in the grilling, the loaded potato's condiments were real sour cream, real bacon bits, chives and for some mysterious reason little butter/looking tubs of dreaded "vegetable" oil. When we mentioned this to Joey, she shared our surprise and immediately offered to replace the whole side, which we declined, simply scraping off the fluffy yellow, heart-damaging, pretend oil. Joey even checked with the chef before we had to ask about dessert options and was happy to report safe choices were all butter coconut cake and vanilla ice cream. We're not trying to be difficult, just healthy. And with servers like Joey, there's hope that people are becoming aware. In any case, with the exceptions mentioned, a good steakhouse like Mesquite Canyon is always a good bet for the health conscious. The restaurant isn't fancy, has a sunny back area for dining away from the darker bar area, and even offers some tasty local beer.
