I love eating at this little cafe! It's quiet, with friendly service, and excellent value!

I moved to Belleville earlier this year. I'm a huge "foodie" and enjoy all kinds of food. Main St Cafe is one of those local joints you can feel good about going to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The prices are low, the portions are large, and the quality is wonderful. I love that they don't send food out of their kitchen with grease pooling up on their food. Everything is made to order and tastes great. The atmosphere isn't anything special but the staff is friendly and the food is great. Enjoy! read more

You can't beat the price for the amount of food they throw at you. For $7-10 (and seven to ten includes a two-dolar tip!) you get more than enough food for two meals. If you're a light eater, then three meals. Seems every main entree on the menu includes the salad bar. The salad bar is always decent--even though they use iceberg lettuce :( Sometimes it's quite good. I went there once and they had asparagus. Salad bar also comes with two soup options and there's a dessert section with fresh fruit and usually some kind of sweet pudding. If you like fried chicken, this place is excellent, especially on Thursdays when the fried chicken is on special. $7 instead of $8. Their beef Philly is really good too. read more

One of the best local restaurants in the area. Prices cant be beat with pretty much everything under $9. Menu is extensive and literally everything is to die for. From the breakfast- giant, perfect pancakes- to lunch and dinner- chicken fettuccine, giant chicken strips... everything is so good. Also let's not forget the salad bar which comes with every meal AND the homemade ranch. Only thing that can be improved upon is service, and in saying that, there's only 1-2 servers who consistently are not that great, with the others making up for it and so much more. read more

I have eaten there many times. The wait staff is very friendly and the food is good with generous servings. The salad bar, though small, is quite good with a choice of soups that change on a daily basis. No it does not serve filet mignon, sushi or lobster but for a local eatery it is quite good. A large menu with great fried chicken and good fish for my Friday fare. All this at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend and you won't be disappointed. read more

We came in on a Friday morning to grab breakfast. While our waitress wasn't the most personable, she was very attentive and prompt, giving great service. The food was served quickly, it was absolutely delicious, and super inexpensive! Definitely four stars for the money! We've been here three times. Twice we had breakfast and once we ordered lunch. I would rave about the food, but it was typical diner food and was pretty good compared to other similar places in the area with the exception of the South Main Diner. We have eaten there a few times. We went back yesterday for lunch. The food is good, prices are great. And the service prompt and friendly. They have a salad bar that is not huge but everything is fresh and taste great! Also has 2 choices of homemade soup. My husband had the breakfast served all day special. 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 2 french toast. He also had a choice of pancakes instead of the french toast. The french toast was thick and had substance to it. All of this for $2.99!! Unbelievable!! I had a club sandwich that had a chicken breast on it along with bacon, ham and cheese. The sandwich was a little over $5. Added Salad, soup and onion rings for a $1. Had to take half my sandwich home for dinner. 1 soda and 1 coffee an our bill was only a little over $13. Can't beat that and the food was good! Can't get away for that price in a fast food place these days! They have a good size menu and several all you can eat choices. I was kind of sad I could not go back for dinner. The special was an 18 oz. T-Bone for $10.99!! You also can call and order food and drive to a window to pick up. Also have a nice kids menu. Breakfast for $2.99 and lunch or dinners for $4.29 which include a drink and the dinner includes ice cream. If you just want down home food at a great price try the Main St. Cafe! read more

This was our first time here. Wanted to go someplace close to home. We got there around 9:30 on a Sunday. The place was packed, normally a good sign. It wasn't good from the start. We had to wait for a table, not that we minded. We finally get seated only to have a flustered rude waitress come to our table. I ordered the country fried steak (specifically made sure this was country gravy not sausage gravy as I do not eat sausage) with scrambled eggs and toast with my hash browns well done and my partner order the 2 egg breakfast with ham, raisin toast with over medium eggs. Had to wait a little longer for food to come out but since they were busy we were ok with this. That's when things got worse. They brought my partners food out just fine minus the fact she asked for honey twice and never got it. However they brought me out a skillet and had to tell her "I didn't order this" so I tell her my order again. Then they bring it back out wrong again, this time eggs wrong without the toast. So as I sit and wait my partners has to eat her food before it gets cold since I was having to wait yet again. Food finally comes out and my hash browns are soggy and the gravy is sausage gravy! At this point I ate what I could and just wanted to leave. We were very disappointed. We will try again sometime, maybe it was a bad day. But choose this place with caution. read more

We came here on a Sunday after church and it appeared so did many others. It was very busy. They were able to find us a table. I had the strawberry waffles and a banana pie to go (I was pregnant). The food was average. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. I really try to eat at local places, but I was not impressed. read more

I've been there on several occasions for breakfast now. It's very tasty and pretty cheap. I can get a ham/mushroom skillet for around $6 and get two meals out of it. I need to go back for dinner or lunch some time. read more

I'll admit that the food and salad bar blew me away! They have excellent food for a diner. Pretty quick service and super down home. The tables are a little close together and checkout can run into the salad bar and front door, but the overall experience was wonderful! I'll totally be back for more comfort food. PS. Eat here! Oh my gosh. I don't know where to begin! Ok, well first not everything is great. The cole slaw tasted like mayo and the Mac and cheese (although homemade) didn't meet my standards. That being said, you don't need to even eat that stuff because there's one thing on the menu that should be ordered and that's it. No other food required! The fried chicken is the best! The dinner portion for $8.50 is four pieces! It's huge. If you go for lunch between 11-4, you can get 2 pieces, a side, and the salad bar for $6.50. That's all you need to know: go for the fried chicken and there's bread pudding at the salad bar for when you have a teeny bit of room and can't eat a whole piece of cake or something from their selection! This place is beyond inexpensive for quality food. If you try something and don't love it, I'm certain you will find something else! The service is great. I skipped out on lunch at The Four Seasons today to eat here. I don't regret it! Go for the chicken and leave the happiest camper! For family style food, this place tops the list. Yum! read more

After arriving to pick up a TO GO ORDER, one of their employees approached my coworker in the parking lot to tell him that the waitress was upset because he didn't leave a tip. My question is, when did you start tipping on to go orders? And why is one of your employees harassing a customer in the parking lot for tips? After all of that, the order was not correct. read more

Nasty!!! not only is the food horrible, but I know for a fact there are rats the size of small dogs in the kitchen. Dont know how no one has been sick from eating here. They leave the cooked food sit out all night for the rats to feast, yuk.. This is regarding the owners of the building, they should pay their bills!! I personally know people that have worked on their building months ago and still have not received pay. The owner and his wife expect everyone to cater to them but refuse to pay for work that is completed. They need to clean up their building and get rid of the rodents and bugs. read more

Was told by folks in town about this place. I finally decided to go with a friend, it was great! I had the breakfast special for $2.99 and a coffee. I don't eat pork, but they had beef sausage patties as a substitute. My first with the beef patties and they were delicious! Pancakes were made like how I would make them at home and coffee was the perfect blend, not strong. I saw their all you can eat specials and there are so many choices. I plan to revisit to try them out. I also want to mention our server, who was new, was fantastic! You couldn't tell at all! I think her name was Jaime. I'm looking forward to going back. read more

It simply doesn't get better than this! It's homemade and it's cheap, cheap, cheap!!! You can add a salad bar to your meal for $2.29! They serve the whole menu all day! But it was super crowded....food is great! servers are nice and proper...... you can eat and get full and take home some for under 20 bucks.....but please, tip the servers. I honestly can say the only good thing about this place is their breakfast, and I guess you can make it on breakfast alone. I cannot eat a thing off their salad bar, as after the second time of getting violently ill, to the point of remembering my symptoms and feelings to the "T," I've never ventured back towards that thing. The servers are always very nice and good at their jobs, so that's a plus, but other than that--the fried chicken has been overdone every time, and the burgers are frozen, pre-formed patties with a bunch of filler. I'm done going to this place and it's right down from my house. Unless it's for breakfast, I'll pass. read more

My husband wanted a mom and pop breakfast and we got exactly that. Great place, friendly staff and VERY reasonably priced! My husband had a skillet breakfast and I had steak and eggs. Everything had that homemade taste to it. It was also nice not to be rationed condiments like butter, jellys, etc. There was plenty of what we needed! I was surprised their menu had everything from basic breakfast foods to pot roast and taco salads. Will definitely recommend and come back! I live 25 mins away and it was worth the drive. read more

Soooo, I use to give this place 5 stars. It has dropped considerably due to the fact, the owner has changed, well so did the food. The past 2 visits was horrible. I'll start with the buffet, the chicken noodle soup was very greasy and the noodles/veggies were really soggy. And the bread pudding was dry and almost sticky! However I got the smothered chicken with a side of mixed veggies. The veggies went a little overboard with the seasoning but the chicken was delicious. Loved the cheese and peppers and onions. The chicken was very juicy but not soggy at all I think it saved my whole meal!! read more

Great food and service! This was first time here. I ordered the cheese omlete meal and coffee. The waitress was pleasant and prompt. It was a very enjoyable breakfast. I have been here several times and ordered something different from the menu each time. Everything I have had is excellent. Tonight I had the fettuccine alfredo with bacon. The price was great and I will have leftovers for days. And we got our deinks (tea and soda) free! Maybe it was a special? But it was a pleasant surprise nevertheless.
