    My girls Leah and Marie!

If you love the old school cafea from the Midwest then this is a MUST if in Watertown Wisconsin! The charm of the 50s is felt as soon as you walk in. The retired men and women having some coffee together at one of the tables and the long counter with stools is occupied by some.local business people having a great breakfast while reading the local paper before work! I stopped in while I was in town to visit some friends and I truly miss seeing more of these places. The coffee is always hot and fresh and the food is made to order and steaming hot when it comes to you! I had the pleasure to meet Leah and Marie who took care of me and even told me about their special green salsa that is made by a lady in the back! Make sure you ask for it because it makes your omelette wayyyyyy off the charts! I got the farmers omelette and it's a huge 3 egg loaded wi5h bacon, sausage, ham, peppers, onions and mushrooms (I didn't get mushrooms) and topped with a lot of Wisconsin cheese! I loved they offered sour dough bread and then got some killer and I mean killer corn beef hash! Holy cow it was delicious! This is a place I will definitely be back when in town and the people working there are as friendly as humanly possible! A true Gem! Our group of 5 stopped in at 1:00pm on a Sunday (they close at 2:00 on Sundays). We ordered: A hamburger with sweet potato fries, a monte cristo sandwich with a cup of soup (for an extra $1.00), the chicken florentine entree, biscuits and gravy with hash browns, and shrimp alfredo with a cup of soup. The service was good but a bit slower than I'd prefer although the server was very nice. 3 out of 5 of us were very satisfied with our meals. The shrimp alfredo was supposed to be shrimp scampi and it hardly had any shrimp in it. In defense of our server, the shrimp was listed on the menu under a section titled new specials and was only listed as "Shrimp". The biscuits and gravy tasted like it came out of a can.

This spot is a hidden gem! Loved the food, the atmosphere was fantastic! Friendly, food was amazing. They allowed my service dog in and made sure we were comfortable and our food was to order. Definitely will be back to try other entrees!

This is exactly the kind of place I love to patronize when I am home reminding myself of my rural roots! In a drastic turn of events from our normal leaving-day breakfast, we swayed from our norm and were not disappointed. The atmosphere is rural 1970. The tables, chairs, booths, carpet, bar, etc. You might even be able to still smell the faint linger of tar and nicotine on the walls. The place is filled with farmers and retired locals out for community morning coffee. Like I said before, just what you want out of a breakfast joint! Breakfast is breakfast. Hard to screw it up and hard to amaze me. Your options are plenty and can be built for any sized appetite. I had the Gyro breakfast plate with hash browns and eggs your way. I might just try to make this on my own! It was a great way to send off yet another trip back home! I won't cheat on my other breakfast place, but it is good to know I have options!

Hobo breakfast with a side of bacon. The food was deliciously hot, the coffee is great. It doesn't get any better than this.

Take a trip back in time. The staff is so friendly. The food was great. You will hear "good morning" more times than you can count.

    Omelet is delicious!

They have a nice bar area with tables so we were able to grab a table and drinks while we waited. With the crowd, it took some time to get our drink orders. The dining room is cozy. It is family style, all you can eat. The waitress came over to confirm we wanted everything on the menu and then dishes were brought out to our table within 5 minutes. There were sides (baked beans, coleslaw, etc.), fried chicken, baked fish, fried fish, and fries. Overall I thought everything was ok. We were not a fan of the baked fish and the chicken was hit or miss. The chicken was bone in, some pieces were good and some weren't great. Overall our favorite thing on the table was the fried fish. Cool experience and friendly staff but overall underwhelmed by the food.

The dining area is much smaller and you are literally shimmying and squeezing into spaces so you don't bump others. The ambiance is stunning though, with details on the ceilings, the fans and anywhere else you look. We went on Friday, so the menu was limited. I usually get a tenderloin or filet, but I only had ribeye as an option, so I went with it. Many others in our party got the fish fry. There was a relish tray that came along with that, including beans and potato salads. The fish fry came with bake fish, fried fish, and broasted chicken. But we had four people at our table who ordered it and when they asked for more, they brought two pieces of things at a time, seemed extremely silly. Our waitress was extremely hard to hear, as it was so loud in the dining room and she was always walking away from us. The overall experience was okay, but not extremely memorable.

The bar was busy and full of customers, but there were still plenty of tables available. It took a little while for the bartender/server to get to us because of the crowd at the bar, but it was well worth the wait. The food came out quickly and was piping hot. The fries and tater tots were cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and some of the best we've ever had! A nice personal touch was that the chef came out to check on us and make sure everything was good. The restrooms were also clean and well stocked, which is always appreciated. We'll definitely be back!

Quite sizable, it has tvs throughout with seating at the bar, high tops and tables. Solid beers on tap and a menu of what you expect at a bar-apps, burgers, wings, and sandwiches. Appreciate the fact they use never frozen beef for their (quite large) burgers and source local cheese. We started with some homemade mozzarella sticks wrapped in wonton wrappers. They were great and paired well with both the marinara and ranch sauces we ordered. The burgers we also ordered on point. With the option of pink or no pink, the burgers were chargrilled to order and as I mentioned above, substantial. Our bartender was great and checked in on us regularly. I'm not in Watertown much but wouldn't hesitate stopping in if ever back in the area.

Terrible food. Terrible service. Hotter than Phoenix in July…read more Was there with my wife and mother. It was 80 degrees outside and about 110 degrees inside the restaurant. Tables were too close together. My breakfast was perhaps the worst that I ever had. My hash browns were black, toast was cold, eggs were inedible. My wife's pancakes were charred. We had 3 or 4 bites then told the waitress that the food was awful. She said, "what am I supposed to do about it?" How about offer to remake the food or take it off our bill? I wanted to leave money for the sodas and leave. My wife insisted we pay the full bill even though we ate 5% of our atrocious food. It pained me to pay for such a terrible experience. I travel extensively and have eaten at restaurants in 36 of the 50 states and this is the worst breakfast and second worst meal at a restaurant that I have ever had. Only the Luxor Casino buffet in Las Vegas was worse and that's only because it made my wife and I horribly sick. I have to assume that based on the fact that the restaurant was packed, that most people around here have never left this area and actually experienced edible restaurant food before.
