We picked up a box of 5 doughnuts and a fritter. We got there at 7:30 just as they opened. First customer. No line waiting which is never a good sign. They made the doughnuts and they look very good. Lots of fillings and toppings. We tried a waffle, maple bacon, Brooklyn chocolate, pb and j and cannoli. As far as taste. The fillings for the most part were tasty. I didn't care for the chocolate filling but otherwise they were generous and tasty. The doughnuts were at least day old and crumbled right away. The apple fritter was stale. It was very old and very stale. It was also $4. We spent $20 altogether and we will never go back there. You are paying a premium for fresh handmade doughnuts which these are NOT!!!!! I have had 1$ fritters at Bristol market that are AMAZING... doughnuts are very good also. This was a complete disappointment. Your better off going to shoprite. Actually if you want doughnuts in this area purple glaze doughnuts in asbury is the only choice. In response to nick...... the price of the fritter was labeled $4 on your display. The fritter was stale..... and more so than a day old. The doughnuts were not fresh. This isn't meant to be mean or hurt your feelings. It's not meant to be constructive criticism.... were not in elementary school. It's just one persons experience at your establishment. Maybe it was a fluke...... I stand to gain or loose nothing either way. My opinion is that your doughnuts could be fresh to justify your prices. Maybe then it might be worth what your charging. I feel like your doughnuts could be amazing but you need to make changes. We were disappointed. Other establishments in this area offer much better doughnuts for half of what your charging. Another couple of things I left out of my original review was how long it took as the only customer to have my doughnuts made. Conservatively it was about 10 minutes.... maybe just under. 5 doughnuts. That's too long. And lastly was the flies. Flies all over on the food is something that really needs to be addressed. Just saying not cool. I had to stand there waving the flies away from my doughnuts as they were made. There are options to fix this and I suggest you do. read more

Was looking for donuts at Sweet! in Belmar. (They don't make them but, their cupcakes look great!) They said for donuts you have to try our friends at Main St. Donuts, they are the absolute best. Boy, were they underselling it! The donuts here are SO FRESH and you can have them dressed in any variety of glazes, dips, and toppings you desire. They also make it easy by having a menu board to order from. My favorites were the Triple Chocolate Donut, the "Boss"ton Cream (a nod to Bruce), the decadent PB& J donut. Let me just say I love this place! The outside is unassuming and there is only street parking. The owner Joe is incredibly welcoming and you can tell he loves his craft. Upon arriving, I was struggling to get my stroller into the establishment and he came running to assist me, I never expected that but I was touched by how much he cared about his customers. They have an awesome variety of donuts and loads of seasonal specials. I got 12 dozen donuts plus an iced coffee. I loved the French toast donut and Boston creme one they are amazing. I came in on accident trying to go to a coffee shop but it was closed, luckily for me there was another shop with coffee across the street. Turns out it is a donut shop, I was blown away by the variety of the menu but they also had a display case of all of the donuts on the menu so you can see what they look like before you order it which is awesome. I had the "bosston" cream donut which was absolutely phenomenal, the donuts are a little hard to eat so do ask for cutlery, and I had a dark roast coffee which was also very good. The owner, or the manager, had to eventually kick us out because they were trying to close which is understandable, but he was very nice about it. Main Street Donuts in Belmar NJ It is easy to get to many parts of The Jersey Shore from NY via Penn Station's NJRR/ NJ Transit Trains using their NJRR NJ Transit Blue Coastal-Line Branch. This time we, again, decided to re-visit Belmar, NJ. The Belmar NJ, (The Jersey Shore), RR Station is, more-or-less, just off Route 35 River Road at, roughly, between, what could be considered Ninth Avenue and Tenth Avenue. We do not think that is an unreasonable distance to the general vicinity of the areas that we wished to re-visit, which were approximately in the vicinity of Eighth Avenue and Main Street, or, thereabouts. In inclement weather -or- if you do not care to walk, the taxi ride is not too unreasonable. After enjoying a tasty meal at a nearby tavern, we went to MAIN STREET DONUTS just down Main Street toward Seventh Avenue, for some amazing Hand-Crafted Gluten-Free Vegan Artisan Donuts that were made 'right before our eyes'. If you are in that Belmar general area of Main Street and Eighth Avenue/ Seventh Avenue, anytime between opening at 7am till Main Street Donuts closing of 4pm, you should consider treating yourself to this wizardry of Joe the Owner. We watched in total glee as the Artisan Master Joe, (The owner), craft-and-designed a customized, donut, made to our specifically-requested, personally-tailored specifications! WHAHOO. You cannot get any better than that. Main Street Donuts posts its daily enchanting surprises outside on a tripod. The store is nicely decorated, easy to read menu, fantastic variety, and very kind owners who work to ensure you are satisfied with your selections.
