Also everything was clean with no debris in sight. When you walk in it looks like a retail gift shop vibe. However just to the left they offer Hersheys ice-cream. I would personally skip online of Brown dog in town that makes craft varieties. I browsed around and the pharmacy is on the rear as well as restrooms. The lunch counter is on the far side and offers booths and large counter. They were not busy for a late lunch. I sat at the counter and received immediate attention. Menu was available and I quickly decided on a BLT and chips. Rayfields also offer breakfast all day. The vibe is pretty neat and unique for this area. I like watching everything being made in front of you. It took less than 10 minutes for my sandwich to be placed in front of me. An old fashioned BLT, it's been years. First bite was good, everything seemed fresh from bread to tomato. Bacon quality. Chips meh, but that's ok as not much expected. My bill was dropped upon request. Price was fair. Tip can be applied on card. I would return.

I have never been treated so badly by a pharmacy ever!…read more I was diagnosed with shingles and went to the CVS pharmacy in Carytown (Elwood and Nansemond) to pick up my prescription. I signed in at the computer and it told me it wasn't ready. I clicked I would wait at the store for it to be ready. I waited about 15 minutes and they called my name over the loudspeaker. I went up and stood in line. A pharmacy technician (maybe it was the pharmacist, I really am not sure) looked at me and told me to check in. I told her I already had and they called my name. She then proceeded to berate me and yell at me that I had to check in again because the screen erased my information. I was so confused. I began to cry. I went over and re-checked in. There were two other customers being waited on. I turned my back to wipe the tears from my eyes and the same person, Melissa is her name, yelled at me, "Well are you ready". I turned around still crying and thought to myself, why is she waiting on me. I got my medicine and told her to have a nice day. She rudely told me the same. At that point I was walking away and told her I used to work for CVS and was going to give her a bad review. Melissa screamed at me across the entire store, "I don't care." This is not how you treat people whether they are sick or not. I am a kind person. I wasn't rude or deserving of such cruelty. I reported all this to their corporate offices. They promised they would "escalate" my complaint... We shall see. I will let you all know. In the meantime, if you go to the Carytown CVS pharmacy, avoid Melissa. If I ever go back and see her, it will be the last time I give my business to CVS.

What I encountered was not just frustrating, it was alarming, and based on conversations I've had, I am not the only one. If you're part of the Richmond community, I would seriously consider going elsewhere, whether to a private pharmacy or a Walgreens location, where patients are treated with basic respect and professionalism. In contrast, I was repeatedly harassed during my visits here. As someone with a disability, I am especially disturbed by the complete lack of awareness and compassion demonstrated. This goes far beyond inconvenience or customer service, this is about safety and ethics. A pharmacist holds a position of trust, and behavior such as yelling, denying medication without clear explanation, and consistent aggression is unacceptable. What is most concerning is that this individual openly stated they do not care about being kind. That is not just unprofessional, it raises serious concerns about patient care and oversight. Any company responsible for dispensing medication should ensure their staff meet not only technical standards, but basic human ones as well. If you feel something isn't right, trust your instincts and speak up. The CVS Health Ethics Line is available 24/7 at 877-287-2040.
