My mom loved the French toast and I had the blueberry pancakes. The rest of my group had burgers, chicken tenders and a quesadilla. Like one other review stated, nothing special. Stopped in a few weeks ago for breakfast, just like every other restaurant lately, prices have skyrocketed! When I ordered an omelette, the waitress who was very nice, asked if I wanted any hash browns. Before saying no and assuming what use to be included with this selection, was still included, she told me for the $9.99 dish I was getting the omelette and toast, potatoes were no longer included. Seriously??? I didn't think potatoes have gone up in price that much? The entire dining area needs a remodel. You would think that there has been enough money in the last 30+ years to put some of it back into the restaurant. Just my thought. Last minute pinch to eat, ok place...but we will definitely be looking for someplace different. read more

There's really nothing special about Big Bobs to be honest. It's a classic small town diner. Local residents seem to like it a lot more than visitors. Breakfast is ok. You can do better for lunch. Service is adequate but not great either It's not super clean but it's also not dirty. There's not much you can say about it other than it's just okay I live locally and I almost always pick other places just because I think a couple extra miles driving gets me better options. But in a pinch, it's fine. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, my first visit but my husbands third. He ordered a burger and fries (second time for him, he liked it so much) and I had a taco salad. The salad was good enough but probably won't order it again. My husband really enjoyed his burger and let me share his fries. I am not typically a "fry snob" but these were incredibly good! Big Bob's restaurant is that little restaurant that every traveler likes to discover. As husband and I made our way home through Michigan, we came across this little gem. We tend to go off the interstate and take the scenic route. Good food without frills, great service from waitress who know exactly how to make strangers feel welcome and local customers feel special. At the waitress's suggestion, Husband and I got the Blue Plate Special of the day: Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and green beans. The cost was only $6.99. I doubt if I will find myself back in this part of Michigan again but it's good to know Big Bob's is there for other travelers. read more

Amazing food, honest staff & a cpl giggles in between! Once a week isn't enough!! Corn beef hash & over easy eggs w/toast.. My favorite. Their French toast, omelettes & biscuits & gravy are pretty good too (with a little salt added lol ; ).. But hey some can't enjoy the spices others can so its a fair trade all in all. My husband loved his omelette and my son said the chicken tenders and fries were perfect, you only get 2 tenders. I have gluten allergies so I settled for a Michigan cherry salad. The salad was supposed to be mixed greens. The only few bites of romaine were bruised and there were rotten bits of iceberg. The grilled chicken was frozen strips with the fake char marks steamed through, not even a fresh grilled breast, WAY over priced! Go for breakfast and you should be a happy customer. read more

We didn't have a lot of options driving through NW Michigan for food when we stumbled upon Big Bob's. It looked cute but you never know with some of these diners. We were so pleasantly surprised! The place is super cute and local inside, very clean (bathrooms and all) and the staff is so friendly. We have 2 toddler boys who can be, how do you say, bulls in a China shop. But everyone was so sweet to them and us. Even the patrons oo'ed and ah'ed over my little guys. I had the Popeye Scramble but asked for the eggs over medium (which they accommodated) and it was perfectly cooked. The American fries were fresh cut potatoes, and the spinach was fresh. My boys and husband has the breakfast buffet. The eggs were real (not powdered). The bacon was thick and perfectly cooked. The fruit was fresh cut, as in not from a bag. We've been here numerous times over the years and the food is pretty good. Eggs are always cooked the way you like them. Bacon and ham are very lean. Burgers are enormous and tasty. Rueben is loaded with turkey or corned beef and is the best I've had. There are 2 things on the menu that are not great: their pizza and their salad. Pizza had a cardboard taste and salads are made with boring iceberg lettuce. Also, the owner is not very friendly and looks grungy.He's lucky he has a friendly,clean staff. read more

Solid small town restaurant. Nothing spectacular, but food was decent and wait staff was friendly. Prices are fair...I would return.

Good food. But my god, good luck getting service. Didn't see our waitress for 10 minutes. Where the heck did she go? All we needed was a water. When she finally showed back up she passed us by three times for the annoying table full of children. Had their bill ready for them when they ordered and then when we asked for our bill she walked away without leaving it. Like I said. Wonderful food. Terrible service. Maybe we'll try again. Last evening we were pointed to Big Bobs by the campground owners for GOOD fish. We were TOTALLY satisfied with food quality and quantity. The staff was excellent and I would recommend this place to others. My wife and I ended up ordering the Friday special all you can eat Wings, Shrimp, and Cod. It included the soup and salad bar!!
