The food is pretty good. But the last 2 times we went there we were met with, " close the door!" In a nasty voice. Both male bartender and waitresses were not nice. The first time we were just trying to get in and there were people in the way. The second time we were in but they were yelling at people behind us. Saying how much the air conditioner costs for the place. Then as you're waiting for a table there's no where to stand to get out of the way and everyone keeps telling you don't block the bar. I don't know where they want you to stand.My cousin ordered a daqueri and the girl making the drink had a fit. People go out to eat to enjoy themselves not to be yelled at and betrated. We always treat the server's with respect and leave a good tip. There is no reason for this nastiness. read more

We have visited Cedar Tavern several times to enjoy live music, which is always a fun experience. This visit was the first time we have tried the burgers, and sorry that we have not tried them sooner! The olive burger was so delicious...cooked perfectly, juicy and overflowing with olives! I opted to add on a side of garlic mashed potatoes, which I would also highly recommend...they were buttery, garlicky, and topped with a little cheese...very yummy! It was mid-afternoon and pretty quiet, but we were well taken care of...very nice visit overall! read more

Made our way back and glad we did. Food was good this time. The burger was delicious.Fries were an extra charge but were good. Pepperoni pizza was just OK. Crust was good but there was way too much cheese. Cheery chicken salad was excellent. The place was packed and the servers were working hard to keep everyone happy. Good experience. read more

First time coming ordered carry out, the phone wasn't working to start so waited sometime and then it finally got working again. I hear that is an ongoing problem though. Ordered the fried dough absolutely delicious and smothered with butter I love them we finished a whole box with two people. Ordered the buffalo chicken pizza it was definitely good. Classic up north bar/restaurant vibe as expected. Rustic, a bit out of date but welcoming. I was surprised how it seemed with this place that just because it's in the middle of nowhere doesn't mean you can't have a decent beer selection...just as long as it's in a bottle It's not amazing but it really isn't bad. The sandwiches they offer are good as well with no disappointment with the rest of the menu. There was live music while we ate which was entertaining but way too loud. As for the service, although they were super busy our server had an adequate presence at our table with no complaints. The only issue I had was how long it took the food to come out. This is a great place of you like to freeze your butt. 7 adults for lunch on a Friday at 1 pm. We waited 5 minutes for a server to take our drink order. (We ordered water and 2 sodas.) It took 5 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Another 10 for her to come back to take our food orders, mostly burgers. 25 minutes later the food started to be presented. So, it took 45 minutes for us to get our food. All the while we were sitting in 60 degrees with fans blowing on us. We were shivering, even with our jackets on. The burgers were ok, the fries cold. Went here tonight recommended by a friend! What a great experience!!! Was packed when we walked in! Order a cocktail and waited about 15 min for a table. Food was delicious and everyone was over the top friendly! Went up to the bar to grab some change and randomly let the person at the bar know what great food and great experience it was. He happened to be one of the owners Charlie! Was appreciative of the feed back, so much his mom who also owns the bar, personally walked over and thanked me for the kind words and coming into the bar! If that wasn't enough they sent a beer to the table as a thank you! Super great people that know how to run a business! Band was great and food as well. Will definitely be back on our way up north! The name tells you what to expect. My beer was served in a frozen mug. My dad's Ruben was what he expected, and big enough that he had trouble finishing it. My son was happy with his burger and I was fine with my chicken. The appetizer came out early enough to enjoy before the meal. This is not fine dining, but it is all I want in a local pub. My only complaint would be to have a little more beer selection, but I'm used to big city brew pubs so I may be spoiled. read more

Cedar Bar is on the upswing. I have a summer cottage in the area and haven't been here since last fall. The new owner is doing good things. Food and service have both improved. Potential to get 4 stars with a few tweaks. One significant tweak would be to put some money into expanding draft beer selection. I understand they need to keep the locals happy...they've had the same 4 drafts on tap for at least 2 yrs (bud, bud light, miller lite, amber bock). However, with the huge influx of summer residents it would be fantastic if they brought in an additional 4 or 5 rotating craft beers from Michigan breweries. read more

Had only been here once before at lunchtime (for a burger and a beer) and that experience was fine, but we were the only ones in the joint. This experience was extremely different. There were quite a few people inside. As we looked for an open table we past several tables that had been used and not cleaned. The table we got was surrounded by tables needing to be bussed. When the waitress arrived her first words were that she was the only one on duty. Ok, so we are willing to cut her a little slack. Being busy however doesn't excuse showing an attitude, or being rude. We had a couple beers and ordered a pizza. The pizza was delivered without plates or silverware. As she went back for plates I requested she bring salt & pepper on her return, what I got was a huff. When she returned with plates, I had to ask her to bring napkins, another huff. We had to get our own parmesian and peppers off another table, and the next time we saw her we asked for another beer and got another huff. Mind you all the time we are there we are surrounded by these dirty tables. When it was time to go and we hadn't recieved a bill, I tracked her down and handed her my credit card and said "here, this will save you one trip" got yet another dirty look and yep another huff. I am 69 and cannot remember ever being treated so rudely. I told my wife I was going to do something I believe I have only done once before, and that is, leave no tip. Wife however wouldn't hear of it so we left only $5 on a $35 check. We are normally very good tippers. All the while we were there two other gals were behind the bar and sure didn't look so busy that they couldn't have helped buss a table or two or wait on a table. Not my job syndrome?? This qualified as the worst resturant experience can remember. The fact that there were quite a few customers, should indicate that this place can't be this bad all the time or it would be empty. Yes it was Friday, yes she was busy, but that doesn't excuse this. Guess I should say the beer was cold and the pizza was ok, but the onions weren't cooked enough for wife and granddaughter. Stopped in for a late lunch on snowy April Saturday. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I had a Patty Melt and Fries. My sister had a personal pizza.
