Excellent food and portion sizes! Chicken fried steak is to die for! The cornbread melts in your mouth and if you happen to get a salad, get it with the grilled chicken it's juicy and so good! Staff is incredibly friendly! Atmosphere is a small town diner charm, you'll feel very welcomed. Only downfall was the bathroom was really dirty and so were the floors. But the food is worth it! The food and service were both amazing! The waitress was attentive while not being overbearing and very quick. The food was all good and very flavorful. It was a little crowded when we arrived around 6 however as we ate it cleared out a bit. The restaurant had a nice environment that gave that hometown feel. My dad and his friends have traveled from Shreveport to Gilliam for years to dine at Main Street Restaurant. When it came time to plan his 80th birthday celebration, my dad suggested we hold it there. Lisa, who helped organize the lunch, was very accommodating and explained the restaurant's guidelines, including restrictions on decorations like confetti and glitter. We gladly followed these rules, and we were delighted with our choice. The day before the celebration, we visited the restaurant to finalize details. Lisa introduced us to our servers, Alyssa and Josie. We arranged for water and appetizers to be ready upon our guests' arrival. On the day of the celebration, everything looked perfect with the tablecloths, balloons, and centerpieces. Despite a minor hiccup with a busted pipe in the kitchen and a slight delay in serving four meals, the servers handled everything smoothly. After the celebration, we left cake for the staff, generously tipped everyone, and gave Alyssa, Josie, and Lisa an additional gift. However, our joy turned to disappointment when we discovered a $150 Restaurant Rental Fee on the bill that was never mentioned beforehand. Tim, the owner, acknowledged that he told the server to add it to the bill and knew we had not been told about it. He told me that we dictated to his staff and put extra pressure on them, which we did not, so he added the fee. I even found out he was there that day and never came to our table to meet us and thank us for our business. He finally agreed to amend our bill and said the refund would be credited in a few days. To my disbelief, the Restaurant Rental Fee was only partially refunded. When I called again to say that only a partial amount was credited, he stated that he said the bill would amended, not totally refunded. This experience has disappointed us deeply, and NONE of us will ever return to Main Street Restaurant. What a sour ending to such a sweet day! read more

When we arrived it was quite crowded but they were able to seat our party of seven quickly. That was good and the beginning of service was fine, unfortunately it didn't last. Yes, our server was busy but no excuse for her kurtness and actually being rude at times. Then there was the food. The salads were not in the slightest even cool, they were limp and sadly a bit warm and wilted. It was a nice serving size but almost uneatable. The mashed potatoes were like glue, . Their chicken fried steak was the only thing I'd reorder if retuning. Some thought it a bit salty but it was very tasty to my brother and I. This place has the friendliest staff. The menu is varied and priced very well. It was filled with locals as is a good sign when traveling out of state. It was Super clean and had very cute decor. A small restaurant in a small town of about 40 or so I heard. The parking lot was really small so you might need to find street parking along the road. There were a lot of people here for lunch. We didn't get menus for awhile but there was only 1 waitress. I saw some of my coworkers that came here before we did had some good-looking burgers/sandwiches. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($7.99), but I was eyeing the Philly Cheesesteak ($7.99) though. I was the last to get my food but that was fine. The Grilled Chicken Sandwich was alright and a decent-sized sandwich. They had a couple of TVs to watch. The staff here were friendly and hard-working. Not a bad spot, it's basically the only game for miles around. They serve a medley of American food, though their menu is limited to 1-2 dozen items total. Absolutely wonderful!! We had chicken fried steak and hamburger steak. Mashed potatoes with brown and white gravy between the two, green beans, and cream style corn, and rolls. Reminds me of Momma's cooking from 20+ years ago, which was a wonderful feeling! We drove the 30 miles from South Bossier and will be back. The people beside us had the catfish and I almost changed my order!! Excellent prices! They have desert also, but it isn't on a printed menu. Meh. I saw this place had 10 reviews and ALL were five stars. It's in the middle of nowhere so I figured the reviews had to be from locals. After tasting the shrimp po-boy, fries, and tea, I'm positive I'm correct in my assessment. The food is only "okay" and certainly nothing to write home about. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Only one other couple and one individual came in while I was eating and the staff knew them all as regulars and greeted them each with a hug. Seems to be a very friendly place - but the food is far from 5 star yelp-worthy food. :) Oh, and it's actually pricey for what you get!! My meal was 17 bucks before tip. read more

Although I don't drink alcoholic beverages, I see they sell a few beers. They also, have different TV's to watch anything from sports to News. They are set on "Main Street ". When the weather allows, you can even eat outside underneath a covered canopy (or a type of one) in a bench style picnic tables. It is a very small town, with a great big taste! In the late Spring you can go to the Sunflower Festival . You will actually see the enormous bright Sunflowers caddy corner from the restaurant.
