This place is pretty good. Service is outstanding. The waitress came by and took our drink orders. Another waiter asked if we wanted some bread for the table. Yes and yes. I had a barrel ages old fashioned. The bread was fresh and tasty. The menu has quite a variety...steak, chicken, seafood...something for everyone. We were going for steak. A filet was ordered and two of us ordered the 14 oz ribeye. From what I saw on other tables steak seems to be a favorite. The waitress came back and took salad orders, how we wanted the meat cooked plus another drink if needed. I ordered medium well. After a bit i order another old fashioned. The first one went smooth and good. Not too much ice, just the right amount of liquor. Chilled and good. The wedge salad comes out and it's covering the plate. Thousand island dressing plus real bacon bits. A nice touch. Just enough dressing. After a bit the ribeye arrives. It too covers a portion of then plate. it's a bit peppered but cooked right. The waitress asked us to cut into the meat to verify it was cooked right, they all were cooked as ordered. Truly a treat. The steak is gone, a little bread is left on the table, half the old fashioned is remaining. Definitely will return in the future if I'm in Shreveport. 2Johns is probably the "fanciest" steak spot in the Bossier City area. Located on Airline, the interior is fairly upscale with full service. To start, the menu pricing is definitely reflecting the upscale steakhouse that it is going for. Their Caesar salad was solid (4/5); I wish they had some anchovies on it though. I got the prime New York strip for my main (16 oz, $68) with a requested medium rare cook. The steak came out a bit tough, even for prime, and the seasoning was overly heavy on the pepper and the fat on the side of the steak needed more rendering. The cook was closer to a medium, which is fine, but it didn't help with the toughness. The sentiment of the group was that there was too much black pepper on all of the steaks and that the cuts were a bit tough (3/5). The sides were hit and miss; the Mac and cheese was solid (4/5), mushroom risotto was a bit meh (3/5), and sauteed mushrooms were also a bit bland (3/5). The crème brûlée was solid as well (4/5) besides the whipped cream on top. Overall, there were some hits and some misses but the toughness of the steaks and the over seasoning brings the steak dinner experience down slightly, especially at this price point. read more

The food was amazing!! Can not get enough! I ate so much, I wanted to unbutton my pants! The food was savory and well seasoned. The steaks were tender and juicy. The potato's and "green beans" (haricots verts) were so amazing and delicious. The dessert was so tasty, I couldn't stop eating. The appetizer (spinach and artichoke dip) was so delicious, I wish it had just a little more spinach in it but overall I loved the chunky artichoke and all the cheese. The chips were a side to it and they appeared freshly baked and super crispy. Heavily seasoned but perfect. Everything was just amazing. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived (around 5p is when they opened) but picked up later in the evening. There is a small bar where happy hour starts around 4p. It was a great experience. The staff was great! Our waiter (Scott) was extremely friendly and had the perfect amount of "checking on us" timing. He wasn't doing too much or too little. He checked on us at the right moments and was extremely patient when we were deciding dessert. He was quick to take our order and got us our food in a timely manner. Everything was just perfect. Earlier this month while solo dining on a business trip, I dropped into 2Johns during happy hour on a weekday. I quickly learned that it's a popular spot with live music and a livelier crowd. As soon as I took a seat at a bar table, a guy came over with water and trail mix. A minute or two later, my server Katy came over and introduced herself. Having no idea what to order, I went with Katy's recommendation, the special. The special was Chilean Sea Bass with lump crab meat and grilled shrimp, a side of goat cheese mashed potatoes, and asparagus spears. Every bit of it was melt-in-your-mouth good. The food was great, but the operation of the place sucks, they brought the salad out, then 5 min later they brought out the entrées When you eat at this level of a restaurant, you expect better coordination. I complained about the problems, and they made me feel like it was my fault the steaks were under cooks and the drinks took 20 min. We did not have a good entree when we celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary at 2Johns the second weekend of December. We were deeply disappointed. The food was not very good... It was too loud in the patio and I had a wobbly chair‼‼‼won't be returning. You need to beef up your food with the prices that you charge, it should be good. My husband had a $62 filet mignon that was too spicy and not a good quality. I had the trout. It was ok. I did not like stacking the food. Trying to be fancy and your patron can't find what they ordered. Had a wonderful server and the bread was good. read more

We shared the crabmeat (not the crabcakes, the other one) appetizer, I ordered the smaller filet mignon, and he got the pork chop. His pork chop was the star of the dinner. His sweet potato side was too sweet; they added stuff to an already sweet enough base. My filet and mashed red potatoes were good, though some of my green beans seemed a little too crunchy. Well. I can't afford to eat there without him so it's stayed on my bucket list for years. Until I realized they are open for one day a week at lunch. Normally, my family goes to 2John's and the atmosphere, service, and food are impeccable. However, this Easter Sunday that was not the case. Being someone who knows how restaurant service works. I do understand that things will not be done as fast as normal. My issue arose when our server never came to check on us at our table. We were the only table sitting without bread for over 30 minutes. I kindly had to ask the gentleman to do his job over and over and over sadly. He also wrote down our orders and they still came out wrong which again could be a common misconception, but he did not even catch it. The very kind staff did catch it and able to correct our orders. Three of us had with our meal and the frost came out cold. At that point though would you send your food back a second time I wouldn't. We try to go to dinner once a month and lunch one a month (Fridays only for lunch is the only day they are open) the drinks good and strong that's always a winner in my book expensive but if they are good then that make swallowing the price a littler easier This night we had Caesar salad and Thai Basil Shrimp along with fried shrimp entree and mushroom risotto the Blood Orange granita and the bourbon fig smash 5 out of 5 I will say I rarely get a steak there my wife does usually I usually get shrimp, fish, chicken, or pork not that I don't like their steaks I just really don't eat steak that much my wife always likes hers.
