Earlier this month while solo dining on a business trip, I dropped into 2Johns during happy hour on a weekday. I quickly learned that it's a popular spot with live music and a livelier crowd. As soon as I took a seat at a bar table, a guy came over with water and trail mix. A minute or two later, my server Katy came over and introduced herself. Having no idea what to order, I went with Katy's recommendation, the special. The special was Chilean Sea Bass with lump crab meat and grilled shrimp, a side of goat cheese mashed potatoes, and asparagus spears. Every bit of it was melt-in-your-mouth good. Feeling stuffed, I ordered the crème brulee to go. I'd put this on my 'creme de la creme' top 5 list of crème brûlée's. The food, drinks, and service were 5 star. I'll be back.

This high class steak house is really a local treat. I really loved the filet mignon served oscar style. We had exceptional service. I loved the live music during dinner. The ambiance was fitting for a fine dining establishment.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here with a great dinner. We had the Crab Cakes as an appetizer. Which is always good. I tried something new to me- the Cajun Snapper. It was delicious and it had crawfish on top. For dessert we shared the Fudge Brownie with ice cream. We love 2Johns and will be back soon for their Friday lunch.

Eating here fess such a memorable experience. We had a large group celebrating a graduation. The service was quite literally the best I've ever had! The food is so good and I highly recommend the pork chop or any of the steak dishes. I don't live in the area but if I did, I would be sure to frequent this place for date night or celebratory dinners.

Boo and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. Our server was Scott, and he was great. We shared the crabmeat (not the crabcakes, the other one) appetizer, I ordered the smaller filet mignon, and he got the pork chop. His pork chop was the star of the dinner. His sweet potato side was too sweet; they added stuff to an already sweet enough base. My filet and mashed red potatoes were good, though some of my green beans seemed a little too crunchy. The crab app did have some good lumps of meat, but they could've gone easier on the cheese/sauce. We wished we had room for dessert but unfortunately did not. Overall, good experience!

Probably the best quality and most consistent steak house in Shreveport. Great place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary.

I attended with a local friend and he confirmed this is authentic. The experience: Friendly staff, a long restaurant with a bar section, followed by the condiments section, followed by a whole other bar somehow? I didn't poke my head back there but I found that intriguing. More on the condiments: They come with any sandwich. I probably took unfair advantage by taking enough lettuce, tomatoes, and onions to make an entire salad. I then asked for dressing, which they happily provided at no charge. And sandwiches? Do get. Delicious bread. The default bread appears to be the French - you could opt for their sourdough if you like - and it's not toasted. I love soft bread, and the po' boy was divine as a result. I loved the boudin. I loved that they have alligator sausage in multiple places on the menu. I loved everything about this place except the fact that summer means just about all of the beers were light, and I had to hunt and peck to find beers more my style. Which I did. And maybe those beers are lingering as I type this review. But BeauxJax gave me the warm, fuzzy, welcoming feeling I love in a restaurant. A great stop in Bossier. Worth a detour from Shreveport. Legitimate Cajun.

Our waiter came by and kindly let us a know a table of 12 people were waiting on their food and then ours would be out we weren't in a rush so I guess it didn't matter, but we were beginning to be uncomfortable! The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. It feels very chaotic and unorganized. We were given a discount and key lime pie & a cookie for our "troubles". Even with the discount we were still over $100 for a bad meal.

The menu has changed in the last year (apologies for lack of photos), so I recommend checking the website's menu for the most current offerings. The potato beignets were a hit appetizer- although truly the oddest beignets I've ever seen- I would order again without hesitation. The kabocha squash hummus and Brussels sprouts were also immediate hits. My duck confit was exceptional and the banana creme pie was enough for 4 people to enjoy a few bites. The menu strikes a nice balance of varied southern/french tastes but focused for quality and thoughtfully curated. Although I noted that we were celebrating a graduation when making the reservation, it was never acknowledged. That said, the service was warm and attentive overall, with the only drawback being infrequent water refills.
