We love Ironwood! This day it was later in the afternoon and we weren't terribly hungry but were craving their amazing salsa and chips and FABULOUS onion rings. The best onion rings! I am NOT a fan of blue cheese but the hot blue cheese dip that comes with the onion rings puts them over the top. We were munching on these snacks for awhile! It's always packed with a lot of workers. Got a table quick though. - Frozen Lemon Drop 3.9/5 It tasted waaay too sour this time around. Still yummy. - Carne Asada Tacos 4.1/5 It was very flavorful. The tortillas ripped though. - Ribs 3.2/5 Very soft ribs, almost like they were boiled first because the bones were almost mushy, very soft. With respect to the food I am notoriously picky about that! The food served to me at Ironwood Grill has yet to disappoint! It's is a bit rare that I order beef these days with prices being exorbitantly higher than what they used to be. However that being said the steaks that I've had were cooked exactly as I had requested and I was not disappointed! The onion blossom with the dipping sauce was crisp and tasty! The perfect appetizer! I have no complaints about the service either! The waitstaff that I've encountered here were polite...respectful...and accommodating! Whatever we wanted they were right on top of things to fulfill our every wish! Smiles from those that waited on us were abundant and certainly added to the enjoyment of our meals. No rudeness or disrespect here! I love the ambiance of this establishment with its low and non-glaring lighting which of course sets it vastly apart from the other establishments to which I've been. The feelings of excitement and expectation were in the air along with an acceptable level of background noise which allow for unfettered conversation amongst us. I cannot speak more highly of this place! I liked it so much, I went two days in a row while I was in the area for work. I got the chicken fried chicken and it was incredible!!! The chicken was crispy and seasoned very well, the gravy was savory, mashed potatoes were soooo creamy and the Mac and cheese was to die for. Ample parking and easy to get in and out of. The service was stellar both days. It's a very beautiful place inside too. I look forward to coming back one day. read more

We were on our way to Hot Springs; it was time to stop for something to eat in Texarkana. My wife was driving so I was tasked to find a place for us to stop and grab some munchies. We make this trip several times a year so we have our "regular" places we stop at. This trip I decided we needed to try a new restaurant. Ironwood Grill popped up as I was looking through all the Yelp reviews. Wow, what a plethora of 4- and 5-star review! Wow, it must be good. When we drove into the parking lot, there was scant a parking place to be found. This place was rocking. Upon entering the hostess greeting us with true southern hospitality, a big smile and a warm welcome. She asked if we'd been to the restaurant before. She told us we had a great meal to look forward to and she proved herself true to her word. First off we ordered TOO much. We/I shouldn't have ordered the fried green tomato appetizer. My wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger with French fries, and I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with a small side of Cole slaw and Pico de Gallo. We were thirsty from our trip from Fort Worth, so a couple of unsweetened iced teas fit the bill perfectly. One of the first things I noticed was the restaurants cool logo. After getting settled in and looking around the restaurant, one of the servers brought our Fried Green Tomato appetizer to our table. OH MY GOODNESS, the Fried Green Tomatoes were absolutely phenomenal. They were served with a side of spicy Ranch Dressing. They were fried to perfection and had a perfect coating on them. We munched down and should have stopped but there were so good. By the time our entrees arrived, our tummies were already getting full. As you can see, my wife's bacon cheeseburger had almost enough French fries to serve the whole restaurant. Well not quite, but there were mounds and mounds of fries. I'm not sure why restaurant's portions are so large, it's not really needed. She took a bite of her burger and said it was one of the best Bacon Cheeseburgers she'd ever had. The fries were also so delicious and served piping hot. My Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos were fabulous. The Bang Bang sauce had just enough "bite" to keep it interesting. The Cole slaw and pico were the perfect additions to top the tacos. I would have been totally satisfied with just 2 tacos, but I didn't want to leave a perfectly good shrimp taco behind. Next time we're headed to Hot Springs, we'll definitely stop into Ironwood Grill for another exciting dining experience. Throughout our visit the staff took such good care of us. read more

We stopped here as a Yelp suggestion finding a place to have lunch while on the road. Well, it didn't disappoint! It's a cute restaurant with booths, a bar with TV, and an extra huge room like an enclosed porch. My husband got the Sesame Ahi Tuna, my son had their bacon burger and they let him add cheese to his fries (a little queso for dipping), and I had their Ironwood Lunch Special for $12.99, where you can pick from their hand-tossed dough sandwiches. You get a mini tossed sandwich, chips or fries, and a cup of soup. I opted for the Ironwood BLT, seasoned fries and their tomato soup. The dough sandwich was AMAZING. It's like a pita sandwich. Crispy with all the veggie goodies inside. Solid tomato soup! My son said his burger was cooked perfectly medium and HUGE and the bacon on it was crispy, thick and juicy. My husband loved his seared tuna that came with two sides of choice. He chose the baked sweet potato and grilled veggies, which were both delicious. Waitress was promp and courteous. We took my husband's stepmother to lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad and we shared a colossal order of onion rings that were exceptional. I am so sad to say that my husband's tomato soup was very watery and not creamy at all. He probably should have said something to the waitstaff; but you know how that goes sometimes. His stepmother ordered the loaded potato soup and enjoyed it. They both enjoyed the ceasar salads on the side but neither were anything special. I would revisit, but not sure hubby would go back. Went to Ironwood grill to celebrate our birthdays. The shrimp dish my daughter received was terrible. Shrimp was burnt and tuff. The coleslaw did not taste anything like it should. The bread pudding was put into the carry out bag before I could see it by the waitress. The bread pudding looked like a wet cow paddy. I gave it a chance with 2 bites. The bread pudding was like eating mush. Afterwords I became sick, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. This was the worst experience. I do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Service is doggone good, bar none. Kudos to our waitress Chg intending with 7pm us. I chose the blackened fish either a side of grilled vegetables and a side of garlic sautéed green beans. Hearty servings of each and delicious! The thing I am on the rail regarding is that their basic fish is Pengasious (sic) aka swai which is Korean catfish . I realize it's good fish. This is one of my favorite places to go. I think I've wore this place out when I used to live there. The food is really good. The service is really good. The drinks are great. I'm glad they have that extended area where you can just kind of sit at the barn and Not have to wait on a table. Me and the husband are traveling again. If you have missed my reviews it is because I have been stuck at home unable to travel until now. Woohoo back on the road! Ironwood Grill yesterday was surprisingly fresh, fast and delicious. Okay okay it was almost 1:30 pm and we hadn't eaten all day but it was really fast and fresh! The delicious may have been because we were hungry. The husband got a steak sandwich which he said was wonderful. He did swap out the Horseradish Mayo for plain. But crispy fries and a steak on a bun! My chopped spinach salad was sooo good. Blackened chicken, plenty of spinach, bacon and avocado! Yum!! I tried the blush vinaigrette which was delish but swapped it for some ranch because it was sweet and I am watching carbs. Our server was wonderful and brought our check WITH to go drinks! Great experience on our trip through Texarkana. Our food was amazing. The quesadillas are huge. Fully loaded with peppers, onions, cheese and protein. The spicy California fried chicken sandwich is also huge and amazing. The hand tossed bread that the sandwich is served on is delicious. We also liked the house salad (very generous size), the grilled shrimp and their very large portions of fries. The service was excellent. Nice local restaurant. There are not enough words!!! This place is amazing! My husband had what would be a simple bacon cheeseburger and it was anything but simple! Amazing!! I had a light meal, the hummus plate, it was fantastic! We had to have the famous onion rings and all I can say is bring friends. They are awesome and they have a large portion perfect for sharing! Our server was so sweet and attentive. She never let the tea run out. And the sweet tea is the best I have had! The building is really cool. The servings are good size and enough to fill you up. Sometimes the ice tea is a little weak, but the last time we went there it was great. While I haven't tried them, guests say the steaks are delicious. The servers are friendly, and efficient. I was excited to try this place after reading all of the positive reviews, but unfortunately the quality of the food did not match the reviews. Don't get me wrong. The service was amazing. We came in on a Friday afternoon around 3-4, and there's maybe 4 or 5 other groups of people. It's a big restaurant so when you walk in you have the indoor seating or outdoor seating(which is still indoors) but it has windows. We chose for outdoors. Appetizers: Chips & queso was a hit. The chips are thin and salty. The salsa is not spicy at all, and the queso was very tasty. 5/5 Bang bang shrimp was not worth the money. The shrimp were extremely tiny. The sauce was at the bottom of the plate. Entrees: Salmon- was unfortunately over cooked, but the sauce and sides it came with were decent. 2/5 The "gourmet" chicken fried chicken was extremely fried. It was decent but just too much breading. The sired fried green beans were extremely dry and overcooked. 2/5 Center cut pork chops tasted good when you dipped it in the gravy. The side of grilled veggies were extremely good. 3/5 Buffalo chicken sandwich was on a pita bread instead of a regular piece of bread which threw the flavors off. The chicken didn't really taste like it was tossed in Buffalo sauce. The fries were good. 3/5 Drinks: margaritas on the rocks were very tasty. I'm honestly not sure why this place gets good reviews. We tried it after seeing top reviews and had high hopes. We had chips and salsa to start, the chips were very low quality and greasy, salsa came in a little jar which was awkward. For entrees we had burger and fries, and maple ginger salmon salad. The burger was very basic, i would say Chili's has better burger. Fries were basic, nothing to write home about. The salmon salad was so weird where all the spinach leaves were chopped up and because of that, it's wet and soggy. The dressing had way too much ginger, and salmon was bland. I am normally someone who can wolf down a salad but I seriously could not finish this one. The service however was excellent. read more

I came to Ironwood Grill for dinner one night while I was in town. I had the grilled ginger lime chicken with two sides one baked macaroni and cheese, and the other seasoned fries. The chicken was tender and moist and you could see the perfect grill marks. The chicken was bursting with flavor. The heat from the ginger paired nicely with the lime juice. It was a flair of Asian inspired taste. The baked Mac and cheese was delicious and cheesy. It was the perfect side. The seasoned fries were hot, fresh, and really well seasoned.
