We had a great group dinner at Main Street! Called ahead for a reservation given our party size (8) and they were very helpful! Food was great with lots of options - I had the Birria quesadilla special which was very tasty. Also really appreciated the NA / mocktail options!

Main Street Restaurant has swiftly risen to one of our favorite en-route lunch destinations when we head up the Hudson Valley. We've yet to run into an issue finding a seat, the food is delicious, the portions are monstrous, and the prices are utterly reasonable in this economy. Their menu offerings veer toward Tex-Mex, and I'd suggest playing in that sandbox, especially for first-timers. In my limited experience, that's where their kitchen truly shines. Special mention for the birria tacos platter, which is plenty of food for two people, unless you're both ravenous. The venue seems to get some reliable lunch traffic, and staff are constantly bustling. On our first visit, we were served by one of the co-owners, who was wonderfully personable and attentive, even when she was very clearly hustling around making sure things were running smoothly. During our most recent visit, she wasn't present, and I felt like we spent a good bit of time trying to flag down a server--both to put in an order, and again when we were ready to pay our bill. I've certainly heard from multiple proprietors in the region that staffing is a bit of a headache, so it stands to reason that Main Street Restaurant isn't immune. This is a lovely representation of the charming local gems you can find in Saugerties. Considering its small geographical footprint, this hamlet punches way about its weight class in terms of character and quality.

I was pretty impressed with this casual Mexican spot! We just happened to see it on a rainy night and decided to stop in. There's a bar and TVs, but feels more like a family-friendly go-to spot than a sports bar. We were greeted with chips and salsa, but I was really excited for the elotes locos (Mexican street corn). One order comes with two huge cobs, absolutely smothered in sauce and seasoning. It was the type of delicious meal that you accidentally smear all over your face, hands, and clothes and finish with bits of corn sticking in your teeth. It was pretty busy that night, but the chicken enchiladas came out quickly after the appetizers, followed by the baja fish tacos shortly after. Each plate is a massive quantity of food, particularly the black beans and rice. The baja fish tacos weren't huge, but having three of them hit the spot just right. The fish wasn't too soggy and the tacos had a great crunch. The food sits a little heavier, given the quantity of fried items (chips, fish, and more), but it's a great reward after a long day of hiking.

This place never disappoints. Food is great, drinks are good, and service is with a smile.

Wow, what a great find. So friendly and welcoming. So many delicious items on the menu. Daily specials and a full bar. Shout out to Emily and Kobe for their exceptional service and kindness. My wife enjoyed the Birria Tacos- off theTuesday Taco special menu. I had the seafood burrito, , talk about unexpected flavor. I love the ingredients individually and yet mixed in a burrito they were awesome. So flavorful, fresh, tasty and the platings were a work of culinary artwork. See for yourself

MAIN STREET RESTAURANT Wondered in to see Rhianna and Jorge, after the Christmas festivities in Saugerties. Place was jamming and had a lot of reservations. Made it quick with an order of wings. In and out, as quick as I could. Wings were top notch. Crispy and extra saucy. The mango habanero was spicy and sweet. Chips and salsa were also great. Salsa was spicy just how I like it. I have never been disappointed with any meal I've had there. 10% off with VIP Card

Solid Mexican food. We were in town for a concert at a newly opened venue. We were able to grab a table about 30 minutes before closing. Everything we ordered was great. We started with chips and salsa- which were both very good. We ordered calamari which was served with perfectly crispy jalapeño slices too. Our friends raved about the spinach shrimp quesadillas and I loved the birria tacos. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked, the taco was crispy and the dipping sauce was amazing with the beans and rice - add in the fresh salsa and pickled onions. I was sad that I couldn't eat it all.

The amazing taco platter. What a FUN meal!

It's Saturday night, I'm flying solo, I peak inside and it looks packed. I had my heart set on trying the food here so I thought aW wHaT thE heCK I'll just ask how long the wait is. The hostess (manager?) had a booth for me instantly and I excitedly ordered the taco platter. She then came back to tell me that she had to switch where I was sitting which I didn't mind at all and kindly offered me churros on the house for the small inconvenience which I thought was very professional. There were at least a dozen different ingredients on this taco tray and let me tell you, not one of them was half @$$ed. From the pico, to the pork, whoever is cooking back there is an expert at flavor profiles. I blissfully ate everything on that tray. The staff, although busy as all heck, made sure to check in on lil ol' solo me. I felt seen. The portion for the price, the quality and flavor of the food, + the kind & attentive service, all on point. Round of applause for the attention to detail at this establishment. Just know it's pretty loud and boisterous inside. Can't wait to go back!

These days, it feels like every bar has a cocktail menu full of creatively named drinks that require reading a list of ingredients just to figure out what you're ordering. At Governor's Tavern, if you want a gin and tonic, you simply ask for a gin and tonic. The only decision you need to make is which gin you'd like. I'm not much of a cocktail person, but I appreciate that not every place feels the need to reinvent the wheel. The place was packed at lunchtime, but we got lucky and grabbed a pair of seats across from the bar. The server who I quoted was genuinely friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Guinness, but unfortunately the keg had just kicked. She recommended the Samuel Smith chocolate stout instead and even brought me a sample before I committed to taste since I never heard of it, which was a nice touch. For food, we ordered the State Grill burger and the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent, and each came with Belgian-style hand-cut fries. If you're spending the day browsing the boutiques and antique shops along Warren Street and want a drink, a good meal, and a lively mix of locals and tourists, Governor's Tavern is worth a stop.

Walked into a homey space with many booths on the sides for privacy, friendly service and a lively bar. My kind of scene. Apparently the chef knows what he's doing at this establishment! I love me some dry rub baby back ribs; the half rack I ordered was finger lickin' good! Very little fat, just lean delicious tender pork coated with a bit of glistening sauce. I chose to kick up my taste experience using the generous condiments on the table, combining the sweet BBQ sauce with hot mustard. Perfecto! Opted for house made slaw and baked beans as my sides, they were so flavorful. I loved that the slaw wasn't drowning in mayo, just enough to make it moist. Partner got a cheeseburger and fries, he said it was excellent. I pilfered a few of his fries and indeed they were fantastic - crispy, thin and fresh.
