Went to Mirabellas with a friend for drinks and a appetizer. We love their Panko green beans. It's so much you can share ! Nice and crispy they are my favorite app there. I ordered a chicken kicker wrap. It was so good. I recommend this wrap! Also the panko green beans. Don'f forget the lava cake! Excellent servers always a smile on their faces and checks on you to make sure you need anything. I really love the friendly environment. They have tons of alcohol drinks and regular drinks. The atmosphere seems like sports on the TVs is a plus. The bartenders are good people. They know so many mix drinks. If your not sure what mix drink you like they will help you figure it out. We came here to watch a basketball game on a Saturday night (Go Cats) because we were visiting the Hudson Valley from out of town. Got some beers, a few appetizers and entrees throughout the three hours spent at the bar. Staff was great (shoutout Barry) and everything we got was amazing. We got the nachos, French onion soup, chicken Caesar wrap and the tuna steak. Soup was some of the best I've ever had. The bar got a little rowdy, which could've been annoying but nice to see it as a local watering hole that's a little loud on a Saturday night. My husband noticed they had a pool table and wanted to go in so we did, but we'd already had dinner elsewhere earlier so I wasn't looking to eat again. After spending some time and having a few drinks though, we decided to get a few appetizers and split them with our party. the mozzarella sticks were very good and so were the macaroni and cheese balls (they call them bites but they are HUGE). I was really impressed with how big this place was. I loved the couches by the door, felt like I was hanging out in my own living room with the TV while they played pool in the back! All of us enjoyed our drinks and appetizers and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back next time we go to Saugerties (and we love going there)! read more

I am happy to say that since Mirabella's moved across the alley from their previous location, I enoyed myself much more! We walked in by the bar entrance, and it was LOUD. Should've been expected since it's March Madness, and Mirabella's has several huge flat screens, but not being basketball fans, it didn't occur to us that they might be busy. We were shown into the other room, which had a unisex bathroom (plus) and the wait station/kitchen entrance (minus). Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the wait staff should have an area private from the customers....I don't want to hear about how drunk you got last night or about the bitchy customer's or anything else. Anywho... Our waitress was nice, got us our drinks, took our orders. There was a LONG pause between our drinks being empty and our apps being consumed before we got refills/table cleared. It was alright, we were in NO rush and were enjoying the conversation. The appetizer sampler was tasty but pretty small....not something I would share between four people normally. The cheesy garlic knots were great. Exactly what I LOVE about garlic knots: nice crust on the outside, chewy inside, and sitting in a pool of butter and garlic. We all got burgers. I got the garlic and mozzarella stuffed burger, with a house salad, since a friend of mine LIVES for this salad and I wanted to try it. My burger was AWESOME. I asked for it medium, and it was pink in the middle, in spite of it being stuffed with mozzarella and garlic! The char on the outside was perfect and delicious, topped with tomato, onion, and a mix of greens, on a big fresh roll. THE PICKLES! I wonder if they get them from the pickle shop down the street. Hmmm, that was more of an inside thought, but it'sa good one none the less. Go and make sure you eat the pickle. Garlicky, not too vinegary or briny, really crisp and delicious! My salad.............was good. Mixed greens tossed with three cheeses (I think) and dressing. My issue....and it's really me.....is I HATE blue cheese. I swear I don't remember reading on the menu anywhere that one of the cheeses on this salad was blue cheese. That being said, I'm GLAD I didn't see that, because I wouldn't have ordered it. It was really a good salad, different, and I just picked the big chunks of blue cheese out. We didn't get any drinks,but I look forward to seeing how they are the next time I go there. My boyfriend and I decided to wander the town a bit and check out the cute vintage shops and bookstores. After a few hours, we were hungry, hot, tired, sore, and starving. So, we decided to just hit up the first restaurant we saw. This place mostly had pizzas and Italian food, most covered in cheese and non-vegan-friendly choices. I opted for the veggie wrap with no cheese. It was just like any other grilled veggie wrap (this is often my go-to at restaurants and I guess I'm getting bored of eating it). The sauce balsamic on it however was a bit overpowering, which was the only downfall. It leaked out from the bottom of the wrap. It became a bit too tangy for my tastes and was tart. After half of the wrap, I was full. It came with a side of your choice and I chose the side salad. However, the salad came naturally with cheese so I just pushed that to my friend to finish. You'd think by saying no cheese on your wrap, hopefully they'd realize you don't want it on your salad either. Oh wells! The staff, however, was very friendly and polite. They greet you on your way in and out. We also got to sit outside, which seemed new and really nice. I'd recommend it but beware as a vegan, your options are limited. read more

We were in town for some skiing at Windham and had reservations at Miss Lucy's for dinner. We had a half hour to kill, and my husband was feeling kinda under the weather, so we had some tea. It's a pretty large spot, with a couple of different seating areas and a little lounge by the front (where we sat). The All Star basketball game was happening and we asked if they could change the channel for us and they sweetly obliged, having to do a bit of a channel surf. At this point, we were comfy in the lounge watching the game and figured what the heck, let's take a look at the menu, which looked pretty good. I cancelled our reservations at Miss Lucy's, and we ordered the crispy green beans to start (yum - huge portion), plus a burger for my husband (they switched out the sides so we could have tater tots) and a grilled cheese with tomato soup for me. Again, huge portions, so make sure you take that into account when ordering. Everything was yum, albeit definitely a bit too salty. Oh and they also had a live band playing in the back, which was a nice touch. Overall it's a nice, low-key place to enjoy food, watch a game and hang out. Servers were super nice too. read more

This review is in response to Timsie who commented on his experience today at Mirabellas. Firstly, it was Christmas in the Village - a yearly tradition for families and friends to roam the streets and sidewalks and enjoy treats, crafts, a parade ... That said, Timsie, along with a few friends and two dogs came into the restaurant. They were greeted by a very cute and young girl who wanted to pet the pups. The dogs owner was very nice and allowed the child to say hello then proceeded to sit down on a couch near a large group already seated in the corner beside where they chose to sit. The dog group was enjoying the football game being shown on one of 6 televisions in the establishment. After a number of comments and dirty looks made to the family occupying the couch beside Timsie, et al., that they were in the way, a friend of the family approached the group and said "you know this is a really special occasion. The girl sitting there is 16 and just came home from NYC from cancer treatment from this last year". This young lady has been fighting Osteosarcoma and has endured more than 15 surgeries to save her leg from being amputated from two aggressive bacteria's that took 4 months to get under control. She JUST came home yesterday. The response from this group was "yeah, my friend had breast cancer ... the dogs are service dogs". When asked for their tags they couldn't produce them. I don't know about you but would you travel with your dogs, bring them into a restaurant and then let them sit ON the furniture at that restaurant? BTW, the owner allowed the dogs inside. Not a usual allowance mind you ... The dog group was a group of about of 4/5 people. They were getting annoyed at the 40+ people that were excited to see this young girl in person after watching her journey via FB. Her and her parents lived in a hospital room at Memorial Sloan Kettering watching their child's struggles and fight for survival since last Thanksgiving . Now, I respect they wanted to watch their precious team BUT TO EXPECT 40+ people to move is absurd. Then, while watching the game a gentleman commented to one of the group - "hey, those are really nice dogs". The man replied, "thank you". Then the gentleman then asked, "do you bring your dogs everywhere you go?". The mans response was nasty and said - "nice bringing kids into a bar". Remember, 1) this was a family day in our little town. 2) Your dogs were being complimented. 3) the gentleman complimenting the dogs had no idea the group had been approached earlier and had been explained the situation of the big group blocking their view. So, with that ... the gentleman says -what did you say?" And the man from the group repeats himself - nice bringing kids into a bar". Now the owners wife and two children were sitting 5 feet from this group amongst dozens of other families with their children. At this point the group was asked to leave because of their ignorant, rude, obnoxious and entitled attitudes. The owner came over, asked what happened and calmly asked the server to get their bill and told them to settle up and go. To pull the racism card is laughable - the group consisted of many peoples from all walks of life gathering to support a child. No good-hearted person would act the way these guests acted. He hit a nerve with the families of this town! We welcome EVERYONE. We just don't care to entertain entitled jerks who thinks that people should jump at their every request. A normal human being would take their party of 4/5 and move to a different area to watch the game and allow this young girl socialize with family and friends she hadn't seen in a year. So yes, it got heated as one of the girls close friends was not going to tolerate obnoxious comments directed at innocent children and families and raised his voice and told him to "get your shit and get the f out of here". I'm pretty proud of how it was handled actually. The owner, Brendan, is a solid family man that gives back so much to our community and to ask you to leave was absolutely the right thing to do. And he didn't so much as raise an eyebrow telling you to leave. BTW, not one comment was made about race. We have Africans, Jews, Puerto Rican's, Italians, Spanish, Asian, Irish, etc in our community. You only get treated like a jerk when you act like a jerk, not because of the color of your skin or heritage. Go back to Syosset, Timsie. We don't want your money in our town. And thank you, Brendan! We love and appreciate all you do for Saugerties. We love your food too! Anyone reading this, it's a nice clean bar, good people and delicious eats! read more

This is a family favorite. The food is consistently good over the years. It's one of the only places that where I feel comfortable taking my 3 young children due to their large space and food choices where they eat everything we do and not just a box of a mac and cheese off a "kid menu". Not sure why this place gets so many multi-star reviews. We went in for dinner this past Saturday while at HITS upon the recommendation of a friend. What a disappointment! First of all, this is NOT a restaurant! It's a bar that serves food...no problem there, but if you are expecting an Italian restaurant, just be informed, this is a "locals" bar that happens to serve food. Where do I begin...First the waitress was rude when my husband asked a question about a dish, then we ordered the "burnt ends" app. Only to receive a plate of "burnt chunks of fat". Now about our Dinners: 1) Cajun chicken on tortellini with Alfredo sauce; chicken and tortellini was acceptable but the Alfredo sauce was bland and way too much volume for the amount of pasta. 2) spaghetti & meatballs; meatballs were unseasoned, huge chunks of ground beef and the sauce tasted like they opened a can of unseasoned/off-brand tomato sauce and poured it on top. 3) Cob salad...OMG where do I begin? It was enormous & could have fed the entire table (what a waste!) and must have had half a pound of bacon and 2 cups of shredded cheese on it! The grilled Chicken was fine. Lastly and most importantly, our credit card was "hacked"! At 6am the next day, I woke to more than 20 fraud alerts from my cc company that someone had been attempting to use my card through-out the night! Fortunately only one charge got through...over $200 to Door Dash! Needless to say, we will not be returning to this "restaurant" and I will warn-off anyone who asks about it! What can I say about Mirabellas? My hometown bar/restaurant where literally EVERYONE knows your name! From the bartenders, bussers, owner, and wait staff! My most recent experience was for my dads 60th birthday (surprise). Brenden the owner went above and beyond for my family-as much as taking a walk around the building to see if he saw my dad. Everyone raved about the food and the waitstaff (particularly Alisha, her busser, and Josh) kept the food and drinks flowing. I literally never did not have a wine in my hand. They were so accommodating and friendly it was the BEST experience. I would recommend it for any party large or small (my group had about 70-80 people) and you could barely tell. I recommend the penne ala vodka, sausage and meatballs, and of course he bellas salad. Awesome job guys and thank you!!!! read more

I am very happy with the move to the new location, the food is very good and they have a nice selection of beers on tap I was specially looking forward to the outside seating/dinner area. I wanted to enjoy it last night but every table outside was staffed with chainsmoking customers, tossing their buds over the fence. I looked into the NY State Smoking Law and found the following. Outdoor dining areas of food service establishments with no roof or other ceiling enclosure; provided, however, that smoking may be permitted in a contiguous area designated for smoking so long as such area: constitutes no more than twenty-five percent of the outdoor seating capacity of such food service establishment, is at least three feet away from the outdoor area of such food service establishment not designated for smoking, and is clearly designated with written signage as a smoking area Even though I am german born I don't want to be a stickler but I prefer to enjoy outdoor seating without getting smoked out. read more

What happened? We came here over the summer - great pizzas, great burgers, friendly staff and fun vibe. Came back tonight and found it quiet, which was cool w us, but wtf happened to the menu? Instead of the options we had prior, it was a one page fried fest. We did get a list of specials and the waitress assured us it was the same chef - cool; the food is prob still good is what we thought. Yeah; no. We ordered a turkey sandwich special - kind of like a thanksgiving w turkey, stuffing and cranberry w "pan drippings". We got a soggy hogie w packet gelatinous gravy that I wouldn't give to my dog. And I love my dog. The corned beef Reuben was better - but lacked dressing, needed more kraut and was greasy as hell. Sweet pot fries and reg fries tasted exactly the same. Came through here with my girlfriend while we were being taken out on the town by my deployment buddy, Sean Lyons. (If an owner or employee reads this I'm sure you know him). We all were very satisfied with the drinks and the food was delicious. Service was prompt and the bartenders were quick, even though the place was packed. The only complaint I have is of the side deck. The awning ceiling has not been cleaned in some time and is covered almost completely with orb weever spiders. Now they did not bother me or the other two of my party, however it was unsettling to have to check every so often to make sure one was not dropping down on us. I highly suggest it be cleaned throughly and ASAP. This is the sole reason for a 3 star review over a 5. read more

Since Mirabella's upgrade into the new location, it's much more inviting. They have a great little outdoor section for dining or just grabbing a drink. The inside is a bit misleading. It features a great, lengthy bar that always seems to be packed. However if you want a more typical "dining experience", they do have a back room which is separated from the bar - better for families, On to the food though, the portions are great and the prices are very good. I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan Sub - absolutely stuffed and absolutely phenomenal! It came with a choice of fries or a salad all for like 8$. I could barely finish one half of it. I've always HAD good meals here until last night. Some of us ordered the garlic mozzarella stuffed burger. I use the term burger loosely. When it arrived the bun was 6 inches and on top was a 3 inch meatball. The bun was dry dry dry. So there's no way it'll stay together. When you tried to pick it up the bun crumbled around the meatball. An epic fail dish. I do have to say the tater tots are excellent. Next 2 of us ordered sausage and peppers subs. The bread was massacred. Black singe. I'd be ashamed to serve these dishes. So we won't be coming back anytime soon. Maybe they had a new chef in the kitchen last night but that's no excuse.
