My dog pulls me in this store, he has made legit friends that give him treats when we shop. The friendly staff is always there to greet you and help you with anything you may need. This store is in a perfect location before work and after for groceries. The big & little things you may need, they have it! This store made my life so much easier. I am so happy they are here in Old Port.

There is only a small amount of vendors that are in this building. I came by the Portland Public Market House with my husband for lunch on a Thursday afternoon, before noon. We ended up going upstairs and decided to get some clam chowder at Kamasouptra (fun name right?). I would definitely come back to have soup at Kamasouptra for sure. But the building here itself doesn't really offer than many eateries and think this place has so much potential. I think there should be more seating though for those patrons that wish to dine in.

I appreciate they offer this service because there are very few places around that offer helium. Yesterday I had two large number (1 & 7) balloons blown up for my daughters 17 birthday, and I was a little nervous because If there the numbers popped, I had no backup plan for getting new ones now that the party store in Portland has closed. There are a few issues, like certain items are kind of tucked away in weird spots - the pasta and pasta sauces take up half a liquor/wine aisle, and the bread is hidden in the same aisle as paper products. But I really like this location. I also want to write about the sushi, however. I liked the old sushi provider Hannaford used, Bento Sushi quite a bit. It was good quality, there was a large, interesting selection at the larger stores, and it tasted good. The new provider, Snowfox, I don't like nearly as much. The pieces are not well put together, the prices are higher, there's less variety. Most? of the california rolls are filled with seafood salad instead of crab stick and the fish in the tuna rolls is shredded up weirdly for some reason. The only good thing about Snowfox is the cute mascot. Bring back Bento Sushi please?

Quite tasteless actually, since it was mostly lettuce. The WICKED VEGGIE WRAP wrap that this store used to have consisted of a breaded eggplant slice, plenty of creamy hummus, roasted peppers, red onion, some lettuce and perhaps cheese. Very flavorful. They shouldn't be calling this the SAME thing as what the prior owner named it since it's not at all the same sandwich. This was also way overpriced for what they made for me. The gift store used to have some great items but now their inventory is quite different. Unfortunately, times do change.

The younger staff are great and do their best while some of the older (but newer) staff seem to have a very negative attitude. I recently had an exchange with a woman with grey hair behind the counter during the peak lunch time and she was incredibly rude which seemed unnecessary. This use to be a store where you could walk in, be greeted kindly and talk about local news. Now, it's clear that the ownership prioritizes what's more trendy and high prices over costumer service and friendliness. We also ordered several sandwiches which were incredibly disappointing. We ordered two "hot sandwiches". One that had cold chicken and a warm outside and another that wasn't heated/baked at all. I am hoping it was an off day for all and will try again. I recommend this store for visitors but for those whole live on the island or are seasonal, beware!
