First my friend called and she messed up one word and the lady hung up the phone. My friend called back and asked the lady a question (what sizes does their drinks come) and the lady responded back rudely saying i dont know, what do you want. Then when we got there they have signs saying anything under $10 there will be a 50cent fee. So im thinking ok thats cool, I go up there to order and tell her i just want 1 large half and half no ice and 1 large sweet tea. The lady again rudely responds saying no we only do half and half. Mind you im allergic to lemon so i cant have lemonade either. So i said ok ill just take the half and half (it was for my elderly aunt) and i go to pay and she raises her voice extremely rude and belligerent, and goes no we dont take cards. But there is a whole sign saying anything UNDER $10 WILL BE A 50CENT FEE. That elder lady who is up there needs a customer service course. I was not rude not one bit to her and she automatically was just rude. Even as we were walking in she was on the phone being rude to people. Never again will i spend my money there. read more

Located in a remote beat up shell of a shopping center this restaurant features ample parking (partially because a lot of the shops around it are shut down). We got there as the restaurant was just opening up for lunch but it was freezing in the restaurant to the point where I had to keep my coat on. Our waitress offered us some complimentary hot tea but it was so cold in there that the tea was cold only a few minutes after pouring it into our cups. Food came out piece meal. Food was delicious and prices are unbeatable. Good portions for around $6 at lunch. Don't pay by credit card or else you'll get a quick warning and a 0.50 surcharge. This Place is quite Good. The food is so very fresh and cooked very well. I NEVER feel guilty for eating here. Also Lisa the Lady at the front desk is great... She is very familiar with ALL her regulars... her mind is like a steal TRAP!! :) Her humor is very deadpan and some may find it offputting. But I think she is great. This use to be my go to spot for Chinese food, and they have been around FOREVER. I moved out of the state years ago, so when I came back and started working in the area I was happy to go back and try the food again. A co-worker and I sat down to have lunch and had begun to eat our food, when a roach crawled across the table. I jumped up and the lady asked what was wrong and I told her it was a roach on the table, she very nonchalantly said ok give me a second. She finished serving her other customers and came to my table and asked if I wanted a new order? WTH No, I want my money back!!! I was so angry and disappointed that I've never gone back. Bad service and bad food. Since I work in the area, I decided to patronize the place on the advice of a co-worker. It was a bad decision the 1st time a year ago. It was a worst decision two weeks ago when my manager treated us to take out lunch. My co-worker became nauseous from the chix wings cooked in old grease. My manager threw most of his meal in the trash. It may have been the jewel of District Heights many years ago but it's time for Mainland to close it's door or do a complete overall. The fried rice was terrible. The shrimp egg rolls had no shrimp in them and were extremely grease. The worst thing about this place is I asked for a courtesy cup of ice after ordering almost $60 worth of food and I was told that I would have to pay $1 for a cup of ice. The first and last time I went to this spot it was for carryout/dine in.....The food was just ok but the customer service is HORRIBLE. I am so tired of these places doing business in predominantly African American neighborhoods but insist on treating us like we are beneath them. The lady behind the bullet proof window who takes the order was extremely rude to the person in front of me. When it was my turn I contemplated turning away but I was starving and waiting to get my nails done up the street. Anyway, no hello, she just said "what you want?"....I give her my order, I PAY and I wait. Since I have some time I decided to just sit inside. When I asked for a table she told me I paid for takeout and would not seat me. After some back and forth she let me sit down. The waitress comes over and I tell her I decided to eat in but I ordered a sprite with my order so I will just take that. She said it does not work that way and if I want to sit down, I need to order at the least something to drink...Huh? so I say fine, give me a water....anyway, my food comes and I had to ask for silverware in which she pretty much threw at me. Mind you, the place was completely empty.....I sucked it up and finished my lunch. I get up to leave and the waitress and rude lady ask where their tip was???? Sad thing is, I would have left one but I was so pissed that I told them to basically go to hell in gasoline underwear. I know, not the right attitude to have in these situations but these people need to understand that you can't treat customers (no matter what ethnicity) any kind of way and think it is just ok. I started going there when my children and I went to the laundromat next door. It was a treat every other Friday for us. I have never had bad tasting food, it's always fresh. the food is getting worse each time. it was edible one time but now, horrific. I ordered the medium shrimp lo mien and my son ordered large chicken fried rice, yesterday, 10/2/16 the noodles were ridiculously dry and had no taste. I don't like spending $8. to $10.00 for food that you can not eat.
